DAY ONE: SIGHTSEEING
Hey there mom ! I wanted to tell you that I've been good; after my twenty first birthday and stuff, everything has been a lot better. I've moved into a small town... its got a nice community and stuff... well, at least from what I can tell. I only got off of my plane an hour ago. I'm just now settling into my new home- it's a big place honestly. I'm not sure if I can stay with it for long. I've decided to take my matchmaking skills here; as the community doesn't seem to hold any close ties with one another. I swear mum, I walked in this place and I couldn't even trace the love. I feel like the place could use my skills. Anyway, I'm gonna send this email and shoo. I have yet to actually explore the insides of this place.

Sending the email he closed out of whatever tab he had left and closed his white, heart-decorated laptop aside for awhile. Best to just let it have a break from just sending out emails. This break would be the break he went outside to a 'whole new world', as some might say. Slowly standing up from his sitting position by the wall, he stretched his arms above his head; having to pop out a few knots in his spine before being able to move comfortably. Glancing around he snorted, almost disgustedly, at the sight of his living room. Covered and filled in boxes. He had told his mother that his place was big... and it was. When it wasn't packed with cardboard. Adjusting his short chiffon skirt (it went to his knees) he sighed before shaking his head and moving between the boxes, slowly making his way to the door so he could free himself from the painful sight of his home so far. Once getting to the door he looked behind him once with a hand on the knob, making sure he didn't forget anything.. which he wasn't. Well. Here went nothing.

The streets of his neighborhood were empty for most part; occasionally there would be someone here or there but for most part ? Nobody. It was peaceful and quiet. Holding his hands behind his back, he stared at each house passed. Some were extremely bland and some had wind chines hanging from here and there. The houses were, overall, lovely. Nothing seemed small in his neighborhood... hm. Most of the houses had nothing like trampolines or... pools in them. They seemed almost kid-less. Maybe this was one of the more 'matured' neighborhood, per se. Guess he couldn't linger on the topic as of now, he had to keep his eyes on where he was walking. Flicking his tail around he paused at a four way, leaning forward on the sidewalk to see where each road would lead. It seemed like the left and right roads would lead back to the neighborhood, so, he went forward. No cars were coming at all so, he took his time crossing the street. The town wouldn't move in five seconds so... it was all good.

The town was pretty sweet, in short. He had dropped into some of the buildings, two of which were clothes store and one mini mart. The clothes store(s) were pretty.. neat. They were smaller than most other clothes store, but he liked that about these stores. Smaller was always better. The employees at each store helped him out greatly in either appropriate place... they had given him weird looks about his attire, but they didn't say anything. Maybe they were just being kind to strangers but ?... he felt rather welcomed. Turning on his heel around the corner he perked his large ears up, eyes widening at a whole new 'store' in front of him. It was a small ice cream stand... he slowly let a grin cross his face. From what he could see here, there was a single worker behind the counter. Hm. Business seemed to be running slow for the worker... there were no long lines of children in front of the stand, like he could remember from his childhood. The whole clearing was barren. Honestly ? Everything seemed deserted. Abandoned. Nobody in the town came outside it seemed, as even in the stores he went in had nobody buying. Strange ?... but, even though people were hidden, everyone seemed kind. ish.

Slowly walking more around the corner he was... in front of the stand. The stand was facing his way, by that. Upon walking closer, he noticed that the worker at the stand was a tall male. He had a mix of light brown fur with... pink ? Oooo. Pink was a great color, no matter what shade. In this case, the pink was a dark, almost-red (?) color. Walking down the sidewalk at a slow pace he couldn't help but smile slightly as he came closer to the stand. The other vaiki was leaning on the stand and had his chin resting on his hand. He looked bored and maybe even... angry ? Hm. Either way he was moving his mouth like he was talking as well... strange ? Was he talking to himself. Slowing down to a stop he simply observed the other vaiki. Ears perked up and hands behind his back. Ignoring the moving lips, he observed more physical attributes of the other vaiki. Tall and slim maybe ? His shoulders were semi-wide though. He had manicured nails and his ears were tall and flattened at the moment.. and he was staring at something. And he had stopped talking.. and he had his head raised and hands down on the counter of the stand. Oh wait. He was staring at him. Jumping out of his observant haze he widened his eyes at the cold glare he got from the ice cream guy's two pink eyes. He looked flat out pissed. Time to bail.

Turning his head he scurried forward; tail curling around his leg out of nervous habit. He was burning up; not from embarrassment, rather the fact that he could feel the other vaiki staring at him. Oh dear. Once he felt almost far enough away he spared a glance behind his shoulder; just a quick one that mean't a lot. In his glance he saw the ice cream guy with his head turned, looking down at something behind the stand. He didn't dare try to find out what, but he swore he could see a pink tail fin poking out from behind the stand... he would have to come back tomorrow and initiate conversation. This moment today was too short for the mini-matchmakers own liking.







DAY TWO: CALLING BOI
Hello mom ! Well, in short I can tell you that this place is lovely. It's nothing like LA really... the streets are near empty and it's a very quiet town. Its a bit different from my LA home but... I suppose it's a nice change. Oh- This reminds me. I went to three stores, two clothes stores and a mini mart. They were exceptionally small but the employees were so very polite to me ! Mind you I had the chiffon skirt you gave to me on. It was a small store, but the kind atmosphere made up for everything. Overall though ? The town is pretty darn nice and I'm hoping you'll like it as well when you come down for a visit. Anyway, mom, I think my matchmaking skills are tingling already. I was just walking around a corner and I saw an ice cream stand. There was a single guy behind it and boy was he perfect in every way; but he simply wasn't my type. He was tall, lean, and he also looked like one of those 'always mad' guys... oh, he was also pink ! Ain't that a cool thing huh ? Anyway, he was talking to... someone, I'll assume. He was moving his mouth and stuff from what I could tell and he didn't have music playing anyway plus, there was no line. Well, I accidentally started to stare at him while passing and he stopped what he was doing and just glared at me. If looks could kill I'd honestly be dead by now I won't even lie. He was actually ?... super intimidating with his look. So I picked up my heels and just went on my way, trying to ignore the feeling of him staring at me. I was just about to turn another corner when I looked back; he didn't have his attention on me anymore, and was instead looking down at something beside him. I didn't want to try to find out what he was looking down at, but I did see a pink tail fin. I swear I did. I don't know about you mom, but I feel the absolute need to get him with someone if its possible. Anyone. I hate that I've only just moved into this town, but you've never said I was the patient type did ya' mom ? Wish me luck ma', I'll be sure to send you a whole email about how everything goes !

He closed his laptop quickly and hopped up from his position on the wall, too ready-to-go to worry about anything relating to the laptop or boxes as of now. Flattening his knee-length skirt down (literally, eighty percent of his clothes where something around 'skirts') he stood still to examine himself quickly; pulling on his white sleeves slightly to adjust them. Okay. He was ready to go. Picking up his previous pace he stumbled and tripped clumsily over boxes, fur puffing up out of alarm and defense to the stumbling. It was an involuntary thing... but he didn't let his fluff stop him. Instead, he just kept going until he got to his door. Reaching the door he twisted the handle quickly and swung it open, hopping outside and slamming the door shut behind him. Hard enough to the point of which he felt the house shake slightly, all two floors and structure. He could care less. Jogging briskly down the porch he didn't lock his door out of bad habit; nobody would try to break in anyway... right ? Hopefully. Either way, he was already rushing quickly down the block, not caring too much about his home at the moment. He had business to get down to.

When he reached the corner he was out of breath; he hadn't run like this in a long while. He had done track before but ?... jeez. Pausing at the corner, leaning on the wall for support, he shook his head before peeking out from beyond the corner. Just like he hoped, the ice cream stand was still there. The guy was still there. Business was still super slow. He smiled devilishly to himself and stood at the corner for a bit longer. He really needed to just stand and catch his breath for a second. He also needed to think of how to carry this out.. just walk up to him and just... be him ? Act natural. Be like a normal customer... but not normal ?... something like that haha. He adjusted his clothes once again; just like at his house. Making sure everything was tidy, neat, flat, all of that jazz. Once he was pretty set to go he puffed out his chest a bit and stood straighter. Taller. He needed to look bold. Very bold. After a two second pause he started walking into view.. two seconds in and he could feel pink eyes burning down into him. But he didn't flinch away. He refused to.

Pacing up quickly to the stand he soon reached his destination. He was a foot shorter than the stand and he had to step back a bit to properly see over it but... he managed. Looking up he gulped at the taller vaiki leaning over the stand to glare at him; up close was far worse than a ways away. He instantly realized that the other vaiki had long fur, it poofed out around the collar of his uniform.. wasn't he burning up ?... it was cold out but seriously, layers really sucked. Shrugging that off he realized that he had heterochromia. His pink eyes were different shades. One was darker than the other. This situation suddenly seemed a lot harder to do than before... and the 'situation' was just to talk to the worker. Shaking his head he stood up on tiptoes, straining the bottom of his feet in his shoes. Placing his hands on the counter he watched the other male shift backwards, standing up straight. " What do you want. " his voice was cold and direct, the 'question' came out as a statement. It only made this all more pressuring for him. " Uh. Vanilla. " vanilla was sweet and plain. Something nice for a cold day like this. " Four dollars. " there he went again. His voice was scary.

Watching the other male get his ice cream he scratched the back of his neck with one hand, gripping the top of the stand tighter with his other hand. " So uh; I see business is running slow ? " he needed to try to get the other vaiki to talk. Somehow. His previous sentence passed over dear ears though, as he got no more than a grunt from the other person. Well. Looks like he needed to just try again.. " ... It's a pretty cold day out uh.. are you doing okay ? " that got him a hostile glare. The matchmaker flinched back at the icy cold eyes, biting on his bottom lip nervously. Nothing seemed to be going right at the moment. The other vaiki turned his head away for a bit before turning back with an ice cream cone in his hand. Oh. He was waiting for the money. He realized he didn't have any money with him at the moment... After a few moments the other pink vaiki leaned on the counter, having the shorter vaiki jump back as to avoid the other's figure. " Did you come here to chat with me or to buy ice cream ? I saw you staring yesterday kid, Not sure at what but you were lookin'. " the other guy sounded.. almost angry. He was hissing ?..

" ... I guess I was boi. It's best to just come out clean; I don't have the money for the ice cream but, uh, well, what's your name ? " he quickly asked, large ears perked up in hopes that he could get something from being direct. He was also being pretty impatient but.. what could he say ? The other vaiki rested his arm with the ice cream beside him, chin resting on his free hand and eyes closed. " Boi ?... My name is Lily Dolly Goodwill. Now beat it. " he frowned at that name. It clearly wasn't his actual name... golly. But then a smaller figure sprung up behind the tall vaiki, and he jumped back at the sudden intruder. A short, white and pink vaiki. They had long and weird curly ears, along with some curly fur here and there. Wow. " His name is actually Kai the power maniac. " the other vaiki said quickly before.. Kai, could stop him. Kai looked pretty angry, ears flattening and fur fluffing up. He didn't turn to face the other vaiki but instead just glared forward. " And that is Alfie. Now that we know each other, have your free ice cream and get the hell away from here. " he took that as a warning, as Kai was burning with rage and yet.. he didn't wanna go. And he denied the vanilla ice cream that was being handed down to him.

" Uh hey so Kai ar-are you single ? " he asked nervously, hands now tugging at his sleeves. Both vaikis froze and looked at him. It was extremely quiet which was extremely.. unsettling. The way Kai started to curl his lip worried him. " Oh wait I-I'm sorry I think my friend is calling for me ! I must go, good-bye ! " and with that, he fled. He didn't look back. He didn't do anything. He had wimped out. Whoops. Best to just come back tomorrow.







DAY THREE: ANNOY EM
Hello mommy ! Well. I guess you could say yesterday went.. a grade under 'horrible'. So not terrible just.. horrible minus one. I found out that there was indeed another person at the ice cream stand with Kai !... Kai is the ice cream guy, also. His friend's name was.. Alfie ? I'm guessing that's how you spell it. I can see something being made out of the two of them but ?... I dunno. I'm gonna try to go back today and see if I can push them to going onto a date.. given they're single. I know you've always told me not to rush things or use force but if I want to get these two someplace together and walk away without a scratch, I'm gonna need to just push myself into their lives and directly ask. Well.. I guess wish me luck mom !... and I promise you I didn't call anyone boi.

Just a time skip to him around the corner, watching the stand. Alfie was standing up beside Kai for once and they were both talking. They seemed like a killer duo and it almost made him want to turn around and go find someone else to match up. But.. they seemed like an aggressive pair. He'd never really worked with a pair like them ?... this could be the only chance to work with such a pair. And he wanted to make it a success. He had a matchmaker ego to fill and he can be as good as dead if he doesn't fill his needs. So, he did what he did yesterday. Puffed his chest, straightened his back, and looked bold. As bold as he could get at this time. He was still, obviously, a bit hesitant to walk forward. Kai and Alfie together seemed to be... almost killer like. Two dark daredevils ? Something around that. Alfie hadn't even glared at him and he was intimated by the other male... ugh. He needed to get to work. Taking one deep breath he started walking forward, heading for the stand.

He wasn't even three meters in range of the stand and the two vaiki's were staring at him. Kai looked... mad. He had his lips curled back and had his eyes narrowed at him. He looked scary. Alfie just had a blank expression... aside from the fact that his eyes were narrowed ever so slightly. His fur was puffed up as well. The dwarf took all of these as signs to keep within four feet away from the two vaikis and the stand. Shaking slightly he stopped dead in front of the stand and Kai leaned over it, as he had done the days before. " What are you doing here. Come to ask if I'm open to date someone like yourself ? " Kai sneered, making him jump slightly and shake his head, looking down. " Listen, yesterday.. yesterday was all planned on the wrong foot. I'm not interested in holding any sort of romantic relationship with you. I want to know if you're open to one at all. " he explained, managing to keep his voice level and in check, despite the dark and cold look he was getting from Alfie now. These two were killers with their looks.

" ... I'm not actually with anyone. At the moment. Not really looking to be with anyone either. " Kai hissed out quietly, his nails tapping lightly against the top of the ice cream stand. Well. At least, given Kai wasn't lying, he knew Kai was single.. best to not ask if Alfie was single either. That would look suspicious on his behalf. So he just nodded and scratched the back of his head with on hand, " Well, since you told me that I guess it's safe to say I'm a matchmaker. A good one at that. " ... the 'good' part was more of an opinion than anything... at least most of his pairs ended up, at the very least, as friends. He shook his head before looking up to see Kai shaking his head slightly, eyes still bitter and cold towards him. " Really ? Sure you are kid. I think you might be a rare giant rat as well yeah ? " he 'huh'ed slightly at the insult. He actually felt... hurt. That really did hurt him. But he shook things off and stared back up at the smirking and evil vaiki. " Your words show a lot about your personality. I wonder if there's secretly someone soft hidden under such a mean cover. "

Thats when he heard snickering and saw Alfie snorting into his arm. " He's actually somewhat of a big pushover once you get to know him. " at least someone was nice in the beginning. " But he doesn't need any other arm rests like yourself sorry. " spoke too soon. He flattened his ears and kept on staring at the two. Kai turned back towards him and snorted. " Now beat it kid. And don't come back. You've gotten what you needed, and said what you said, turn yourself around and don't turn back. " Kai snapped, his past smile gone and now just a cold glare. He flinched at the cold words. He could feel the warning tone in them but ?... he didn't care. Er. Well, he did care, but he was determined to get these two out and about. He took a step forward, tail whisking from side to side. " Uh, just going to be blunt and to the point, how would you two feel about going out someplace ? Together. " they both stared at him. No emotions really. Just staring. Alfie was the first to speak up. " Like a.. date ? " he seemed to be slowly turning red. Cha-ching. " Kid. Shoo. " Kai's voice was shaky. He hadn't managed to hide the crack. He took another step forward, " You two seem fond enough of each other. Why don't you guys do it to test the waters ? " he suggested.

They looked like they had seen a ghost... er. Maybe Alfie was dating someone ?.. Oh god. He might have suggested the term 'date' earlier but he didn't know if Alfie was just trying to ask questions or.. crikey. Alfie might have a significant other and he wouldn't even know. Best to try and.. cover up his mistake ? Something like that. " I uh... I'm terribly sorry for assuming that you were single Alfie, as I didn't even bother to bring up the question. Without further ado, if you have another in your life please disregard my earlier request. " he had 'warned' that he was a matchmaker.. perhaps they could have found out his intentions by then ? Matchmakers set people up. He was here to set them up, if possible. Dwindling his own fingers together he was so invested in his thoughts that he didn't notice Alfie shaking his head; it wasn't until he started speaking that he realized he snapped out of his own thoughts. " I'm as single as a broken pringle. I don't have anyone. This doesn't mean I'm open for a date though. " he whined mentally. Neither of them seemed to be interested in a date. Well. Looks like he would just have to try and ?... improvise. Change their mind somehow.

" What if I got you guys a place at a super nice restaurant ? " he tried, eyes wide and hopeful. He had the money. He could pull it off.. but Kai crushed his plans at once. " I can do that without a brat helping me, thanks. " he wanted to scream actually. Not because of this plan going no where, just Kai was a hurtful pain. He flicked his ears around, not moving an inch despite the, once again, hateful looks from Kai. Hmm. " I can buy you guys something afterwords for carrying this out ? There would be no price ranges. " maybe just saying he would buy something in general would get him somewhere... " Tempting but what I want can't be bought. " he felt like that was implying something... he didn't question the tall vaiki though. " Uh... " he broke off his sentence. He didn't have anything to offer.. " Hey kid. " he perked his ears up and stared at the one speaking. Alfie. " Listen, if you leave us alone after this get-together that you plan, of me and him, we'll accept the offer. " Kai sputtered slightly and quickly turned his head, hissing something out at Alfie. He perked up and grinned though.

" Deal ! It's still pretty early.. let me go home, find a nice restaurant and I'll get back to you guys. Come back here tomorrow in your best clothes. I'll meet you guys out here... and also, my name isn't 'kid'. It's Val. " he felt no need to say his full name as he sprinted off, excited.

" Alfie I'm gonna kill you. "







DAY FOUR: THE DATE
Hey hey mom ! I have great, great news. So, for those two guys, I convinced them to go on a date at my own price. The two are adorable.. and yes don't worry I see that you want a picture. I won't ignore that part of your message. I'll get you a picture of them today on my phone... if I can. If not I'll just get a picture of them for you sometime. They're really neat looking guys. I'm going to be taking them to a nice restaurant not too far from my place. Hopefully they'll enjoy it ? Anyhow, I would like to say that I'm doing fairly well ma' ! Thanks for asking me. I guess it's only common sense I ask how you've been ? I saw one of your dress designs in a magazine so I hope everything is all good; especially since I saw that. Well, I best get off before I get all dusty and stuff from the.. invisible dirt flying around. I started to get things unpacked early this morning.. if I work hard, I might be done with packing by Sunday, tomorrow. Don't worry, I promise you I won't work until sunrise to almost-sun fall again tomorrow. Well, before I get into a whole talk with you I'm gonna get going ! I need to catch these two before they think I'm ditching them. Bye mom ! Love ya lots !

Standing right at the corner were Alfie and Kai, both not even nearly dressed up nicely. Or.. well. Actually. They looked decent but they didn't have dress pants on or anything. Their matchmaker didn't know that the two stayed under the same roof did they ?... whoops. Kai had his head fluff combed and all of that jazz.. not gelled back though. Never gelled. He had a white button up and just some blue jeans on him. He looked better than he normally did. Alfie had on one of his old shirts.. just a nice polo and jeans. Neither of them were the... dress up types. The good dress up types at least. Glancing down at Alfie he stuck his tongue out at the shorter vaiki, " Y'know I sorta hate you for getting us into this. I really just wanted to sleep tonight but instead ? I'm stuck out here, in the cold, waiting on our date ring-leader to arrive. " he said quietly to Alf. He was grinning down at the other vaiki... but speaking literally, if this little twerp didn't show up soon he was gonna make a beeline for home. He didn't wanna be out here and just... he wanted to sleep. Alfie glanced up at him before lightly elbowing him in the side, rolling his lightly colored eyes. " Chill Kai. I'm sure that's him right there. " with that Alfie nodded forward at a small figure sprinting rather quickly at them... yeah. That was their guy.

" Speak of the bloody devil a wild matchmaker appeared ! " he sneered before feeling an elbow hit him in the side. Okay he and Alfie were going to have a super long talk after this thing. " Glad to see you didn't leave us hanging here kid. " he snipped out after deciding it would be.. best to try to get on good terms with the kiddo. The other dwarf vaiki was out of breath and held up one finger while leaning over, panting. Uh. Did anyone have an inhaler ?... " I'm terribly sorry for running late; I had to do something before arriving here. We best be on our way... I got reservations at a nice place down the road. C'mon now, I'm not entirely positive how long they hold reserves or something. " and the short vaiki was already off. Kai was ?.. just a bit 'urk' with the guy. One second he's out of breath and one second he is blasting away. Slowly trudging forward he looked behind him at Alfie; not picking up his pace until the shorter vaiki was by his side and walking near him. He would feel a bit.. uh, awkward, to say the least, if he ended up going to this thing alone because Alfie snuck away behind him.. he could actually see the other doing it ?.. maybe ? Or maybe not. Alfie seemed to have grown pretty fond of him.. he couldn't tell what he might try to pull.

It took them quite a while to get to the restaurant.. as it wasn't as short of a walk as imagined. But it was worth it. Kai was wide eyed and taken aback by the restaurant; the kid hadn't been kidding. He gulped slightly, missing the way Alfie cooed (if cooed was even the right word) at the sight. Wow... well, at least he knew he would be getting a good dinner here. This might not be a bad night after all ?.. " Okay hey, listen, " the kid had turned around and was snapping his fingers at them. He decided then to quickly study the other male's clothes; a spiffy, cuffed button up and some dress pants. He wasn't wearing his normal skirt.. but his outfit was ninety five percent light pink golly. " -listen, I'm not going to hoover over you two and stuff, I'll be in the back and watching you guys on a camera.. not all the time of course, that'd be creepy, but I'll be there. I'll come check up once in awhile, nothing bad and nothing dirty comprende ? Si. " and with that the two datebirds were walking in with Val.. for ?.. this thing.







DAY FIVE: THE ONE OTP
MOOOM. Mom oh my goodness. You have no idea how fun.. and weird, these two were ! What trips. I adored these two.. and I've been introduced to a new type of datees. They were so cute when I saw them on the corner; they weren't really 'dressed up' and yet they weren't anything near fancy. They were comfortable with each other though.. it was super cute ! Well, Kai was pretty rude to me and stuff but he did chillax after a bit into me arriving.. he said something less Kai-ish... well. Time skip forward ever so slightly and we were at the restaurant. I found it pretty amusing at how surprised and.. well, taken a back they were. I think Kai has a bit of money in his pockets but even so he wasn't expecting a place like such. Alfie freakin' loved it I think. He was amazed by the size and everything and I was wondering if these two had ever been to.. an actual restaurant. I took them inside and they got situated quickly so I left them alone and went to the back... where, I actually, enjoyed myself. The workers were super duper nice and just yeah.. I checked up on them once in awhile and I won't even lie. I checked up at the perfect times... one time having Kai telling Alfie it'd be better off if he was drowning in the ocean of which Alfie responded with 'I love you', and yes mom, they are just this type of couple. There was one part where they had a ?.. fork fight and then they would dump salt into each others drinks and mom I swear I was dying... and they also did a small Romeo and Juliet skit ! Mom I wish you had been here with me.

Well, they had ordered and stuff and when they're food arrived they calmed down and just talked... I really liked these two though. They weren't the typical.. flirty and all about it pair ? I liked them and I'm super to have worked with them. In the end, when it was time to go, I met them outside after paying off the bill and told them they would totally be great together. Alfie got red at that and Kai.. slightly blushed but they both sorta shrugged it off. While leaving with them they told me they actually stayed together and I got curious enough to ask if they were already dating ?.. despite them both telling me earlier they were both single. Well, they were both single but Kai explained he was just letting Alf stay at his place.. as Alf was teaching him something. It was a nice talk and.. Kai actually used my nickname 'Val' instead of 'kid' and stuff. Uh.. not a lot happened while going home and stuff really. We all just talked and ignored the fact it was super cold out. Overall I think this pair went great together ! I really had a lot of fun with them and though they aren't or, haven't, hooked up yet, I find them still just two dorks who would be perfect together. Uh, nothing went bad really and ? Though I guess I sorta didn't fulfill my matchmaking goal I.. got somewhere with these two. While we were about to split ways they gave me a phone number.. I'm assuming it was Kai's house phone. He told me to ring him up if I ever needed either of them and ? The date went great overall, I didn't get a couple but I got a new OTP and some cool friends !.. I should stop repeating myself.

"So how did your dad and Serenity become a thing?He's so...mean and she's too sweet."

The tiny pink Vaiki stares at you,her head tilted a bit and her brow raised."Weelllllll..."She drawled the word out,a small grin plastering slowly on her cheeks."I guess you could say I had a litttleee to do with it."She places her paws on her cheeks and giggles softly."I could just do a tiny recap orrrr I can just tell you the whole story!"It seemed before you could choose,she had it already planned out.And so she dove into the story of how she finally got a mother.

"Now you see,my Daddy is a grump.He normally didn't spend time around anyone aside from his best friend,Mrs.Dawn.I dunno what about me he saw,but I must be special cause he tells me I can be really annoying sometimes.But he found me and adopted me.I'm pretty sure Daddy thought he'd never find anyone who could deal with his anger,so he didn't think he'd actually have kids.So I was,as he called it,his little miracle in disguise.

Anywhere he'd go I would tag along,in a tiny fear of him leaving me behind for being bothersome.I know he wouldn't do that of course!My father loves me.Anyway we love going to the park,still do.We would always go walk around the trails,feed the birds,and then just sit on a bench and hang out until it got late.

Welllll!One particular day,this lady walked by us.Seems that both she and my father weren't paying any attention,and they crashed into each other.Daddy,being the grumpy person he is,snapped at her and she snapped back a tad,but then told him she was sorry and he said it too.They started talking--I didn't pay attention to what,and I saw Daddy laugh.That made me really happy.He doesn't laugh too much.We stood there for a few minutes before they said goodbye and we started to head home.I had noticed that the ladys name was Serenity,and had caught that she was a librarian.

I sorta started teasing Daddy about it.I noticed he was blushing after the conversation and I poked fun at him.He just rolled his eyes playfully and told me not to be silly.Of course he didn't like her,he swore up and down.But that big grump butt blushed more when her name was said.Of course I didn't linger too much on the subject as we headed home.

May I also mention that I adore books?Reading is a favorite hobby of mine.A few days later,we had to return some books.When I thought back,I remember that Serenity was a librarian.I may or may not have started thinking up a plan.We got home and I went to bed.Or so Daddy thought.Really I was awake planning what I was gonna do to make my father smile again.

The next day--the weekend thank everything--came rolling around and like every Saturday,Daddy wanted to sleep.I don't know why he thinks that a good idea in our house.Silly Daddy.I of course though,do let him sleep for a little while,until it was around 10 before jumping on him and nipping his nose to wake him up.

I did wake him up.And he reacted by falling on the floor.And then getting onto me for doing that.Still worth it.Anyway I asked him,well begged him more like,to take me to the library.He took a while,but agreed and we soon headed off.As soon as we were in the doors,I rushed to the kids section,remembering that I had seen her in there before,so she must work there.

I held his hand and tugged him along towards the desk,since I had books I needed to return.It wasn't her,a face I knew well,but not who I wanted.I darted off,leaving Daddy at the desk while he made small talk with the guy behind it.I pretended to look for something for some good ten minutes,and then falsely acted like I couldn't find it,and was disappointed.

Then the thought that she might be in the older part of the library struck me,and I begged him to let me go look at the movies,because any movies,be it a cartoon or a romance movie,was in the older part.He begrudgingly agreed and again I tugged him along.Luck struck when I saw her about halfway there,and got an idea.He was paying no attention to me as I slowly let go of him and started walking beside him.He had a book in his hand,looking it over again and again.She was closer.Any second now...

I "accidentally" tripped Daddy a bit with my tail.He stumbled and crashed into her,both of them in shock and not trying to make a sound since we were in the library.He was the first to notice who the other person was,and when he saw it was her,that blush came back.He quietly started apologizing and helping her stand back up.She let him know it was fine,she wasn't mad.He kept saying he was sorry and they started talking--about what I don't know,I tuned out.But in the next few minutes all I know is he's waving bye and tugging me off and blushing like a tomato.Apparently they were going to have dinner tonight.Success!Daddy might not be alone anymore!

I honestly don't remember most of that day.Just that I passed out at Mrs.Dawn's house and I remember him carrying me home, and singing.Singing a song he used to sing to calm me--but he hadn't sung it in ages.They started to go out a lot.I ended up spending the night at Mrs.Dawn's a lot because she told him not to bother me and let me relax.

They spent a lot of time together,and I know this is rushing but I really wanna tell you my favorite part!I remember being over at Mrs.Dawn's,she was out and her wife Eclipse was watching me and their daughter Midnight.It was only around lunch,so when Daddy came to pick me up,with Miss Serenity by his side,I was a little confused.

But they got me,took me to one of my favorite places to eat,and let me order whatever I wanted.I didn't get it,but I went with it.When my last thing,a sundae came to the table,they asked me to wait.I remember them looking at each other,smiling,laughing a bit,and while I don't remember a whole lot,I do remember Daddy saying, "Meet your new Mom Kari."

I jumped and squealed and cried and hugged them until I couldn't breathe.I was so happy!Our little family was complete,and it was all because I tripped him.Hehe!

You blink at her,smiling at the story but still confused."That's sweet,but I still don't understand how she stands his grumpy butt.I probably would have never lasted."

She grinned up at you,twisting around in her seat."I guess my momma's a miracle then."
