haha, so recently i got a couple of cute little flowering cacti to add to my ever growing garden of adorable plants, i really liked one of them i got today enough to make a doll based off of them!

this is a non-owners only competition to give them a bit of a chance to get a doll. [i apologize to owners who want to try for them orz]

for this contest i would like for you to please describe where they live in 500 words or less. you're allowed to add in as many extras as you'd like, but i will be mainly judging upon the place where they live 'v'.

Where do they live?;;
They live in a hot climate area in a large cabana. The cabana is surrounded by plants and they plants also cover the floor of the cabana, crawling up the sides. The plants range from flowers to cacti to trees. Their little shelter doesn't protect them fully, but they love the nature so much. They do have the necessary things for their little home so they can stay clean and healthy. The home doesn't stray too far from civilization either, so they could still go to other places and not have to walk very far. It's not really in a forest, but in a small area of nature that was spared from human destruction.

live in an old, abandon Japanese zen
garden that is resting on the outskirts
of a large city. It's fair in size, and it
consists of a couple statues covered
in moss, a waterfall, and, of course,
the traditional sandy floor with lots
of decorative rocks and flowers. A
couple of other plants and flowers
surround them as well, as if they
were living in a zen terrarium.

Where do they live?;;
With tired eyes flickering open, the doll rolled out of their bed. As soon as their feet touched the ground they stretched their back and let out a tired yawn. Groggily they walked out of the small room, which was littered with terra cotta pots and old textbooks about biology and botany. The doll sluggishly marched into a bigger room, which turned out to be a combination of their kitchen and living room. Their home was small, but it had all that they needed and all that they wanted. Besides, a bigger house means a bigger mess and who wants that? In the middle of the room was a small wooden table cluttered with all sorts of papers: sketches of plants and animals, research and study notes, and even the very rare slightly crumpled blank piece of paper. In the center of the papery chaos was a large terra cotta tray; it looked like the ones you place under your flowerpots to catch the excess water. Covered in a small red plaid blanket was the doll's shadow. It was a small and sheepish cactus and currently it was softly snoring. The doll smiled, brushing their green hair out of their face. They poked their shadow gently, as if they wanted to wake up the little thing but didn't want to disturb it at the same time.
"Ca~an." They softly cooed as the cactus shadow made a face and started to rumble. Eventually after much coaxing and soft jabbing the shadow woke up.
The doll smiled and softly called out, "Good morning Can. Ready for work?" They picked up their shadow and placed it on their shoulder so it could get just as good of a view as the doll did. The doll marched out the door, but not before grabbing snacks for the road. They took a few steps in the copper dirt before taking in the view. The sun was also just waking up and it softly painted the sky beautiful colors. The doll took a deep breath and closed their eyes, letting the sunlight warm them up a bit as it lit up their garden green hair and the fuchsia flower in their hair. They looked down at their shadow, who was still rather sleepy but was able to smile back.
"Alright, let's set off!" The doll cried out happily to the still waking environment. They then walked away from their tiny happy house with the sign Abel's and Canaan's Home, nestled at the edge of the Mojave Desert.

Where do they live?;;

Magnolia and Terrace live in a cliff. It’s a cozy little hole in the wall, carved right into the red rocks of the desert, with a hole in the roof as a main door, and a big window facing the cliff as a frequent entryway. It’s a one room building, about two arm-widths wide and four/five arm-widths deep.
Many features of the house are carved right into the walls and floor. Maggie’s bed is slightly concave block that’s right below the big window. There are carved benches along the right wall*, while there are shelves carved high up on the left wall.
On the shelves are books, plants, and cooking supplies. Maggie loves to read, so she keeps as many as she can get her hands on; cookbooks, gardening books, romance, manga, fantasy – you name it, she’ll read it. Many of the plants are types such as cacti or desert weeds, but some of them are from other places. She’s got a small magnolia tree (of course), green beans, tomatoes, violets, and chrysanthemums. Plus, she has a grapefruit tree in the corner! Of course, all of these plants wouldn’t be possible to keep in a house her size, since they can grow to be as tall as a human. Instead, Maggie uses techniques used by bonsai tree gardeners, and keeps the plants small, but healthy. They also add a splash of color to her sand colored home. Whenever the flowers bloom, Maggie takes almost half of them to place in other spots in the building, plus a few to shove into her own boots.
Maggie doesn’t usually have any company, so most of her non-book belongings are strewn around the house at, seemingly, random. Clothes are generally found behind the indent of the wall to the left of Maggie’s bed, although they are thrown down into messy piles. All of Maggie’s rock climbing gear is on the benches along the wall, including the special harness that allows Terrace to be strapped to Maggie’s back during an expedition. Even the non-inclusive furniture seems a little haphazard. A driftwood table sits near the back of the house, but all the matching chairs are in the front. Empty terra cotta flowerpots litter any empty space available, especially the table and area near (but not right in front of; more to the side of) Maggie’s bed. One particularly large flowerpot sits directly to the right of the bed, which is where Terrace sleeps.
Above the house, on the cliff top, is a good size fire pit, which Terrace and Maggie use to cook, and spend much of their free time. A handful of driftwood benches sit around it, and complete the look and atmosphere of the situation.
At night, Maggie and Terrace are awake, and can see stars stretching endlessly into the sky. At dawn, the sun rises and paints the desert red and yellow, and the doll and her companion go back into their home, and fall asleep.

Mango's Social life;;

Not the greatest. They're pretty bad at making friends, and it doesn't help that they live so far away from other dolls. The few friends Mango manages to keep are... Very patient, I imagine. But, they're okay with this. It gives them more time to rock climb and garden without feeling obligated to hang out with other dolls or go to parties.

Hobbies;;

Obviously rock climbing and gardening, but also sewing/knitting, fencing (occasionally; not much time for it, and not many ways to practice by their self.), reading, and singing (they don't have like, an angelic voice, but that's okay. Singing is fun, and they don't expect to ever have to sing for anyone but Terrace and them self).

Why the outfit?;;

The boots are sensible. The pants are comfortable. The jacket is useful and the shirt does its job. The spikes on this particular outfit are intimidating and cool looking. The gloves are for gardening. The piercings are both memories and statements. The flower is sentimental and keeps her grounded. The necklace is a charm, that keeps her close to home.
This is just her stay at home/go to town outfit, though. For actual working, she wears cream, brown, and white colored clothes, usually long sleeves, long pants. They're sturdy and comfortable, and help get the job done. When rock climbing, Maggie takes out all her piercings, even ones that are unlikely to get in the way. The way she sees it, it's better to think ahead than have to think while a piece of metal is keeping you pinned to a rock.

Where do they live?;;
Tara and Rose live in a very simple but beautiful home. They live deep in the woods away from civilization and have made their home in a clearing with a strange cave at the center. As you can guess, they made their home in this cave. However this cave has very special plants growing inside which have closed flowers at daytime, but during the night open up and glow. Apart from this, the roots and stem of the plants give off a soft light which Tara and Rose tend to use. However, due to the entrance of the cave being so open they got some wooden plants and covered up the majority of it leaving room for a door and two windows, one either side, and then gently cultivated some vines and moss all around the top of the cave to create a more natural look and to hide the wooden planks. However, they cut the vines that would cover the door and windows just above the top of them and underneath made a little patch where some smaller vines can grow. They both love it there because in spring all the flowers bloom and it is beautiful.

Doll's personality;; Plaushi tries to be happy 24/7, they're loud and outgoing, hardworking and energetic too. They're very athletic, and love to run. They're loyal and bad comments rarely get to their head. Thay've always been confident in themselves, and they always see the good side of things. Plaushi is very affectionate, which is why Jenny loves them.

Shadow's personality;; Jenny is sensitive and gets into trouble easily. She loves attention and wants it all of the time. She wants to know somebody loves her and cares for her. She gets scared easily, and forgives easily too.
Where do they live?;; In a shed filled with flowers, grass, dirt, a few cacti, vines, but most of all lawn flamingos. The shed is in an enpty neighborhood of a lively suburban city. Many children liked to roam the neighborhood before they grew up. Plush uses the shed as a makeshift hotel and home.
History of the doll & shadow;; A young girl previously owned Plaushi and Jenny. She loved them dearly, and this caused her to bring them wherever she could. She brought them to the forest one day with her friends, and one of the girl's friends spooked her on purpose, causing her to drop Plaushi and Jenny. The friends raced after the girl, and forgot about the toys. This caused the two to wander around until they found a suitable home in a shed. They've stayed there for 4 years so far. Both of them are 17 years young.
Interesting fact about the doll & shadow;; They treat every plant as big as them as a customer for the hotel. Every time the plant grows, she asks them if they want a transfer to a bigger pot and imagines what their reply would be. She even imagines child-like-plants like dandilions come and play in their 'lobby' or to be specific, the big box next to the door.
