► WHAT ARE VOLKS?


Volks are immortal nocturne wolf-like creatures, found by humans in a foreign planet a few years ago. Volks do not breed and the birth of these creatures is still unknown.
Their main features are very long ears and tail, feathers on their cheek fur and tail and long and sharp claws. Their pupils are always the exact same color as the iris, making it look like they have no pupil at all. Their feathers, nose, claws, ear fur and tongue glow in the dark. Their size is close to a wolf's. Volks are very agile creatures due to their slim bodies, making it easy for them to escape in any kind of situations. They can easily swim and climb trees. Volks have an omnivore diet, even though they feed mostly on fruits.
Volks are smart creatures, extremely friendly and curious. Some of them are usually tamed by humans before reaching their maturity. Once you tame a wolf, both you and your wolf receive the same marking on the same body part, representing your bond. Some markings are simple and some markings are complex - the complexity of the marking matches the effort of the taming process.

Gossamer(the name actually appeared in my head before I read what it is haha: A fine, filmy substance consisting of cobwebs spun by small spiders, seen especially during autumn. I think it's fitting)

History:
Gossamer has had a pretty easy life. Nothing interesting ever happened and for the most part, he enjoyed his quiet, uneventful life. He had daily walks through the trees, enjoying the fresh crisp air of the morning and evening, especially in the fall. He felt he had earned this easy life after being picked on as a pup within his former pack. His littermates saw his extra limbs and love of the quiet and found these reason to pick on him. Of course, even for the young Volk this was merely an annoyance, and not detrimental at all. "How could one feel bad about having the advantage of more legs over others? Why was it strange that he preferred the still silence of nature? They just didn't understand and that was their problem, not his." Over time he grew fond of collecting items he found; a colorful leaf here, a flower there, the bones from his first kill, which he wears proudly to this day. After leaving the pack to live on his own, he found his life so wonderfully uneventful. That is, until he was suddenly attacked. Gossamer, of course, ran at first, wanting to avoid further conflict. However his attacker continued and Gossamer had to turn and fight. Eventually he got the upperhand and made a swift escape, finding a strange split in the forest he lived in and realizing it was a human trail, crossed it. Upon reaching the other side he fell and slipped into blackness. The next time he woke up, his wounds were cleaned, the greater ones bandaged, and the smell of human filled the air. Nearby a fire warmed the area. And thus, he will continue his uneventful life with his savior.
How I found it:
In story above;
I was driving when I saw the creature dart across the road and fall. I pulled over some distance away, and upon realizing the poor thing was still alive and needed help, I carefully grabbed a blanket from my truck and slipped the unconscious animal into the back, carefully wrapping a tie around his muzzle in case he woke up in a rather aggressive mood. I then took him home, caring for the critter was simple enough as my mother was a veterinarian and taught me a few things growing up. I cleaned and bandaged his wounds. He seemed to waver between conscious and unconsciousness for a few days, so I had to tube feed him for a while. After asking around, I learned these creatures were usually curious and fairly docile around humans, maybe a little skittish at first though. After he came around he still had a lot of healing to do before he'd be ready to take on the wild again, and after some time he seemed to become used to me and let me feed him. Before I knew it, he trusted me and became my companion. At first it was slow going, he'd follow me at a distance and just watch me around the house, curious. I often walked him to let him out in the air and to do his business. The day I was going to release him, I walked him out into the woods and took off the rope leash I had loosely tied to him. He looked at me, just stood there and looked as if waiting. It was then, I realized he wanted to continue our walk. So we did, he padded next to me and followed me home. Later that night, while showering, I noticed a strange marking between my shoulder blades, it matched the creature's marking that adorned his furred back.
Real:
I was looking through Oakaki and saw him, immediately became intrigued and knew this was a critter I wanted to draw often and add to my long list of other characters. This is the first I've heard of this species, I think, and I've fallen in love.
Personality:
If you haven't guessed by now, Gossamer loves the quiet life, he takes his time and hates to be rushed. Some may cause it lazy, he calls it enjoying all the time he has. He loves to be outside, as one may have discerned from his history. He also doesn't like to put too much effort into anything and avoids conflict if he can. He does, however love to wonder and explore. A walk through the woods, the crunch of leaves under paw and some streams of light peaking through some overcast clouds are absolute heaven to him. Gossamer is pretty laid back, although at first he may seem crabby, he's just easily annoyed if pestered. He likes to do his own thing and be left alone, unless his company too appreciates the quiet life. He is grateful to the human that rescued him and will go so far as to say he likes them. While he heals the human walks with him through the woods of their property then they spend the evening by the fire. Gos likes it when his human makes apple pies and shares a slice and when he gets pet while listening to the fire crackle. His favorite tome of the year is autumn.
Why I want this Volk:
LOOK UP^^ its there. If I only get him from this species (he's the of one I want anyway) I'd be happiest.

Unfortunately I do not know how to "pretty up" a form, otherwise I so would, other than changing colors and font sizing and such. So I hope his story was creative enough.

History: Griffith was a mutated volk, he never knew his family because the night of his birth a scientist stole him and then he was raised by the scientist. The scientist mutated him to be a volk spider. Griffith tried to escape one day but the scientist said if you tried to escape again hed hurt him. Griffith didn't listen to him and the scientist stuck with what he said. Griffith bleed for an hour and finally the scientist gave him bandages and that is Griffiths story sorry no personality was told he is a pretty average guy

Personality;; Thanatos can be easily agitated and pretty hotheaded at times. Although he isn't the violent type, if you hurt anybody he cares about, emotionally or physically, he will not take it lightly, and he will come after you.

History;; Thanatos was found in the woods with a wounded leg, and rescued by Volk tamer, Henry Kalder. Henry is a teenage boy with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, and fairly tan skin. Thanatos was shot by a hunter, who was about to kill him, but Thanatos ran away, which is how he hurt his tail. The hunter got too close and shot him in the tail. Luckily, he was eventually able to scare him away. The hunter was petrified by his extra pair of legs, and fled before Henry heard Thanatos in pain.
How I found it;; Henry's POV
It was a cool, Sunday morning. Henry was taking a walk through the woods, the sound of leaves crunching beneath his feet were as relaxing as anything. He basked in the morning sunlight, until he heard a sound echoing through the trees. He chose to ignore it at first, assuming it was just a figment of his imagination. You know, being in the woods and all. But the shrill noises got louder and louder, to the point where Henry couldn't take it anymore. He had to check it out, to see what on earth was going on. Henry quickly took off, running toward where the sounds were coming from, to find a strange 6-legged creature laying on the floor, a nasty wound covering part of its back leg. It looked up at Henry with pleading eyes. He wasn't sure what to do, or how to help this obscure creature. His cabin wasn't far away, his uncle must keep some supplies he could use to help this poor thing. He wished he could do more, but he was no... veterinarian? He wasn't even sure what this thing was. And it sure as heck couldn't walk. "I'll come back for you." He promised. He wasn't sure if the creature understood, but he took off anyway. When he came back, he was holding bandages he'd found in the drawer of his uncle's cabin. "Alright, okay. Hold still." Henry attempted to wrap the bandage gently around its leg. It winced. "I'm sorry, i'm trying my best." The look it gave him nearly melted his heart. The creature's eyes were full of gratitude. Henry had finished patching up its leg and tail, and spent the next half hour or so helping it back to his cabin. Oh boy... how was he going to explain this to his uncle?
Why I want this Volk;; I am so in love with the idea of a 6 legged volk, tbh. The colors used perfectly blend together, and i'm in love with his markings. I own Volk #10 as well, Kova, whose tamer is Henry's twin sister, Maggie Kalder. You judged this contest, so you've already read this story, but in case you don't remember, you can re-read it here if you wish. I have yet to write about those 2, but I definitely will! I'd love to add Henry and Thanatos to their story.

:Gender: Male
:History: Rumble ran as fast as his legs could take him. He was being chased, but he wasn't exactly sure by what or whom exactly. The brown volk tried to run even faster, to his maximum. The creature's eyes were like flashlights, illuminating the rocky path in front of him. He swerved around to look back at what exactly he was running from, but Rumble had to pause in order to do so. Bad idea. There was a crash, and he lay at its feet, unconscious.
: How I found it: I was driving my car down a nicely kept road in the dark (with headlights, of course. Safety, ya know?) when something that looked kind of like a fox leaped in front of my car, looked straight at the headlights, and ran straight in front of me. Sort of like he was trying to outrun my car. I tried to turn out of the way, but it paused to glance back at me, in which I was forced to..well...ram into him. By accident, of course. I immediately jumped out and looked at it. One of its legs were at a strange angle, and I accidentally ran over the tail, bones sticking out of it. Yikes.. So, the only logical thing to do was to bandage it up and such. He is still healing up, but I had to remove the broken bones from the tail, and they are being used as a makeshift splint. I'm praying that he will be ok.
: Why I want this Volk: Well, I've never exactly had a Volk, so it would be a great opportunity to now!
