how they settle in; She's the kind of horse who mopes in her stall the day and day after she's brought to a new home, and then as soon as those days are over - she's madness. Her hooves travel in a frenzy as she gallops the perimeter of the pasture, zig zags through it, and then leaps over the gate to explore everything else. She'll stick her nose in every stall, peer into the tack room, linger a bit too long in the feed room, and push the brushes and stuff around with her nose. After she's done in the barn, she has to go stick her nose in the humans' business. She'll trot around the house, the garage, scratch an itch on every trailer, and fog up the windows in the cars. Of course, after doing all that, she just goes back to the pasture and behaves like a normal horse.

how they settle in; Percy likes to know every corner of his home. When he moves to a new stable he doesn't settle properly until he's given the grand tour of everything. The tack room, the little human aisles, the storage bins, that one spot where the cats like to sleep. Once he knows the lay of the land he can rest and chill out.

how they settle in; Ciel is a very jumpy mare, and because if this, she likes being out under the sky in open spaces, rather than confined to a small indoor area like a barn. She's always happy to go I to new paddocks without a fuss as she is more interested in the new green grass than the is concerned about being nervous. When it comes to new barns, she will spend ten minutes pacing back and forth in the doorway, avoiding going in, maybe putting one hoof into the barn, only followed by her stepping backwards once again. It's often frustrating to her owners as sometimes they don't understand why she's just so scared at first. There's one solution to this problem; snacks. Ciel loves to eat anything, whether it be human food or horse food. By holding a few mints in your pocket, Ciel would easily follow you into any new place, as her main focus is just to keep her nose touching your pocket in hopes of getting it. This actually works well to train her to enjoy being in the barn in the beginning, since she's being rewarded for doing what makes her nervous.

how they settle in; Ashe settles in about as well as a hurricane, she's a storm at first with bright wide eyes, she'll buck and toss her head, kicking out at any wall within striking distance. Getting her to be calm is impossible as she fights wildly against anything and everything. After a day or two of her showing how strong, wild, and crazy she is that storm dwindles as she turns from a storm to just a minor breeze as she loses her wild side. A cat or two around the barn will calm her down sooner but some homes she's come to haven't had barn cats to calm Ashe and they've seen her at her wildest, which is why she's moved around so much. A week or two after coming to a new home Ashe becomes a relaxed and willing part of the barn and even becomes a bit of a lazy girl who prefers to wrap herself in a blanket in her stall and nibble a few carrots.
