General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Short Story:
"I stood as the icy froth swirled about my hooves, a feeble attempt to drag me down into the chilling waters. I plucked a tentative foot out of the sand with a pop, stomping down on a chunk of slush ice. Staring out into the darkness I felt an odd calm draw over my shoulders, and peered up to see the start of yet another snowfall. I let out a pent up breath, melting the falling flakes in the path of the hot breath before they even hit my skin. I felt no shivers or fear despite the dropping temperatures, but rather dwelled on the heat of my lungs and the boiling blood trickling through my body's lacework veins. With a sigh I looked out over the ocean, watching the world curve over and grow brighter with each passing second. Within minuets the sun would rise around us, and I would be gone. I was but a vessel of the overwhelming cold, locked into this world of death, melting in tune with heat like the frost around me, and forever lost to its beauty."

short story: The Twins and the Nettles
As much as Pollux hated to admit it, his brother Castor's sardonic opinions usually predicted their troubles, and the Day of the Nettles was no exception.
It was early morning when Pollux awoke his brother with a skip in his step and a glint in his eye. He wanted to raise stink and as much as Castor always agreed, Pollux's mistake was waking him up. The day progressed as planned: Pollux up to his old tricks and Castor slowly progressing from stiff and grumpy, to baleful, to mischievous. When Castor joined back in, the pair went wild on the surrounding countryside.
After terrorizing everyone and everything in their wake, the pair laughed and ran themselves to the seaside where they came across a tide pool full of sea-nettles. Pollux's curious nature drew him to the drifting invertebrates and he found himself idly watching their constant ebb and flow. Despite Castor's silence and distance, he knew his brother was itching to find out more about these things and decided to quell his curiosity for him. Shoving his snout in to touch him, a sharp shock snapped across his nose.
