Anyways this boy/girl has had a terrible experience with someone attempting to dock their tail as a yearling. Due to the later age and the yearling being stronger than a newborn he/she put up a fight, now they have a notch in their tail bone as well as a fear of anyone going near their rear end for any reason. How would you ease that fear?

The only way to gain her trust is to approach her from the front, being relaxed, slow, and persistant. You need to show her that you will never hurt her at any chance, but she still doesn't gain anyones trust within a week. To gain her full trust you have to be relaxed and patient.

How do you gain his/her trust?: Being slow, relaxed, careful, and most importantly, persistent. When around him, keeping a relaxed and slow demeanor will help him see you're not a threat. Desensitizing will be a good area of training to help him realize it's okay. Being slow and careful with persistence when working with him will help him learn to trust you and fix his problem. (I use this method on horses at the stable I work at and I have full trust with every horse)

How do you gain his/her trust? You have to be calm with her. She loves being brushed so work slowly and gently. Speak softly to her assuring her it is alright. Don't touch the area directly but go near and around it until she is calm. do this daily.

How do you gain his/her trust?: Her favorite food is sugar cubes. You must gently feed her sugar cubes, and keep a calm attitude. Be sure to soothingly talk to her with quiet whispers and lightly brush your hands over her muzzle. Make sure that she's in her stall or in teh woods, and get her to come to you by offering sugar. If she comes, then let her take the sugar and slip a bridle on. She should be calmed after that.
