Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.
Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.
Variety: Tiny Tail, Tear/Normal facial markings. Blind.

Theme Song: HereHow did he/she become blind? Who Am I?
"The Early One". That is what they called me. In Wolfmarsh, where many of the kits did not survive their first winter, names were not often given until later in life. With such low survival rates, you could say my chance slimmed with the fact that I was born prematurely. This is how "The Early One" came about. On a nippy, Spring night, I was born; the only kit to survive the birth. My parents were heartbroken. My mother was so distraught that she refused to hope that I would live. It was even rumored she tried to convince my father to let me die. Father, however, had a hope for me. Everyday he used his free time to work with me on gaining strength. In times of low food, he even let himself go hungry in order that I did not. When I grew old enough, he began teaching me his trade as an Alchemist. I grew wise in searching for plants. Even this did not increase the hope others had for me. Because of my weaker build, many thought I would not last the winter. That Winter
That winter was one of the harshest winters ever in Wolfmarsh. Snow came early. I guess I was not the only premature thing that year. When the early snow melted, it caused the two rivers that cross Wolfmarsh to overflow greatly. The second snow was heavier than the first. Winter's icy blanket covered the Wolfmarsh. Soon all the prey disappeared. It was not long before famine possessed Wolfmarsh. A few clan member's left, including my mother. It was not long before three kit perished of hunger. One of them was my friend. Need drove the alpha to attempt a raid on Mistlyn. Against the Beta's wishes, he had decided that they had no time for negotiations. The raid did not end well. Though Wolfmarsh gained food, but many wolves were injured. Father was made very busy healing injuries. One of the worst injuries was gained by the alpha. The Search
The Alpha's wound became badly infected. It was not long before the Beta grew worried. The Beta implored Father to heal it, but there was not much Father could do. The only plant that would possibly heal it was across the frozen, flooded river and covered in snow. Father agreed to try to get it. He counted the Alpha's life above his own. Stubbornly, I told Father I was going with him. Seeing I would not change my mind and that forcing me to stay would do more harm than good, Father did not argue. Father, Beta, and I set out early the next morning. We hoped the morning chill would help us avoid breaking thin ice. I thought the marshes were difficult to navigate. Turns out that the flooded river is much worse. I could here the sound of the river from a distance. The rushing water sounded fierce and threatening under the ice. Next to the river, Father made us stop. He ordered us to stay where we were while he crossed the frozen water alone. Rushing Water
I subconsciously held my breath as I watched my Father step out onto the ice. The other side of the river was a distance of fifty feet away; give or take. It seemed like ages elapsed as I watched every careful placement of his paws. I found my breath again when he arrived safely on the other side. The Beta and I watched my father sniffing around in the snow. He disappeared briefly in a thicket of dead brush. Panic arose over me, but I tried to remain calm. Father quickly reappeared with a dark green plant in his mouth. I smiled proudly as he started back across the ice. My excitement soared too soon. When my father was halfway across the river, a loud crack sounded from the ice. I would have believed anyone who said they heard that crack in the Void. I watched Father's eyes flashed with fear as the ice bobbed and dipped underneath him.Is This The End?
Father flailed and tried to jump. The ice shifted as he lifted off and he landed partially on the ice and mostly in the water. Before I knew it I was nearing him. I forgot about the dangerous river, the ice, and even my own safety. I just had to help him. I felt the ice crack under my feet. I was still five feet away from him. I heard the Beta yell at me to stop. I slid to a stop and watched my dad desperately. He gripped the edge of the ice. His grip was slipping as he was being pulled by the strong current under the ice. The plant was still hanging from his maw. He was shaking with the cold and his failing strength. Father looked me in the eyes. "You know what must be done. The Alpha above me. Be strong, Tamara." That was what he would say if he could speak and I knew it. Father tossed the plant towards me. I caught it. When I looked back, Father was gone. My scream was muffled by the plant. Tears filled my eyes. The Beta called my name. I remembered my father's desire. Carefully I turned away and headed back to the Beta. I neared the end of the river, when there was another crack. It happened so fast. Before I knew it, I was dragged under the water. My head slammed against the ice and I blacked out.Awakening
Where am I? I opened my eyes to a mostly dark space. There was a warm bed of moss around me. I could not see it, but I could feel and smell it. For some reason, I enjoyed the warmth incredibly. I heard movement nearby. I tried to see what was there, but my eyes would not focus. All I could see was a shadow. The shadow came closer. I could hear the steps. The scent was familiar, but not comforting. "Oh good. You are awake. How are you feeling?" The voice was the voice of the Beta, but I could not see his face no matter how hard my eyes tried to focus. "Fine I think"; my short reply. I felt something draw near my face. Breath brushed my face, as the Beta drew his head near. Something was wrong, me eyes could see a slight shadow, but they could not see his face. The Beta knew something was wrong. He pulled away. "Tamara, do you remember what happened?" He asked. What happened? The Beta used my name. No one ever used my name except Father. Father! Everything flooded back to me now. The river; the plant; my father; the ice; the cold water! Memories
That was over twenty moons ago now. I grew to a teen. In this time I have not grown to forget my father or his teachings. I will never forget him, though my vision is now gone and is never coming back. I can only see faint shadows. My memory will remind me of colors, but they are only in my mind and are growing faint. The only memories that I will not let grow faint are my memories of Father.
