Jolana which means "violet flower."



Jolana's favorite candy is candy corn.

Jolana moved to America when she was 10 years old in September, Jolana was always the misfit. She didn't have any friends in America but she had a couple of good friends back in Australia. Everyone thought she was weird because of her Australian accent and that she was nervous. Her new house was two-stories high with a decent sized backyard and front yard.
After her and her family settled in the new house, they had started to get their house all decorated for Halloween which was in two days time. She never celebrated Halloween in her life, she didn't even know what it was until her mother explained it to her.
"Halloween or All Hallows' Eve is when kids dress up as scary creatures to scare off evil spirits. They go knocking on peoples doors that have lights on and they say 'Trick or Treat', then they get a treat or a trick. Treats are usually candy" her mother explained.
Jolana was really excited about Halloween as this will be her ever first Halloween and a great time for meeting new friends.
Two days later, Jolana was dressed as a witch with a silky purple hat and a black dress with fancy purple swirls and spots. She was ready to go trick-or-treating.
Her mother told her to be back by 7pm. She walked out of her house that was covered in sticky cobwebs, skeletons and tombstones and went trick-or-treating. She was pretty nervous as this was her first Halloween and she didn't know anyone. It was evening by the time she went out, the street lamps flicked and there were lots of people dressed in spectacular costumes that ranged from Princesses to Pirates and Zombies to Werewolves. It was very lively, she had no idea where to go.
She thought to herself 'Which house do I go to first?'
She looked around and saw her neighbors house, kids were walking away to another house and had bags full of this yellow, white and red candy. She had never seen a candy like that before.
She went up to her neighbors spine-tingling house that had fog envelope the front yard with tomb stones rising from the ground. Black and grey stairs with yellow lights appeared that led to the front door. She knocked three times on the scary door that had fake gooey blood smeared over it.
Knock, Knock, Knock
The door swung open and a man that was dressed up as a terrifying zombie appeared at the door.
Jolana was impressed on how much effort was put into his costume, he looked like a real brain-eating zombie.
She said "Trick or Treat" excitedly in her squeaky voice.
Her neighbor gave her a small bag of that white, yellow and red candy as he said 'Happy Halloween'.
After she went to plenty of spooky looking houses she went home and told her mum about this delicious looking candy.
"Mother, what is this candy called?" She asked with curious eyes.
"That's called Candy Corn" Her mother replied.
She said good-night to her mother and went up to her room to see how much candy she had gotten. She had piles of chocolate bars, Raspberry clouds, bubble gum and a whole lot of other candy. She couldn't stop looking at the bag of candy corn she had gotten from the first house she had went to.
Jolana never had candy corn in her entire life, she couldn't resist not trying one so she pulled one of her see-through candy bag that was decorated with spiders and cobwebs. She savored the sugary sweetness of her first ever candy corn.
To this day she still loves Candy corn and her favorite holiday is Halloween.

Mint bubblegum- she was walking on the streets of New York and saw a new store in business. She thought to herself why not take a look?. She entered the fairly small building, flickering light, old-looking floor-the usual corner store. she looked around, potato chips, soda's but something she has never seen before- it was called bubble-gum. she looked at it for a bit- it only costed a dollar. it said it was minty fresh and re-freshened your breath. she went to the resister and bought the gum. she plopped one in her mouth and started chewing. she started walking out of the store and it was delicious! for her anyways.
