Tʜᴇ ᴀᴅᴏᴘᴛᴇʀ
Hello~ I'm GallopingHowl, but you could call me Gallop for short. Personality, I'm a huge fan for animal/nature inspired kokoros, so this one was perfect for me. It was really too much to resist, so I decided to try out for this one! At the moment, I only own one kokoro who I cherish with all my heart, Akemi, but she would love to have an addition to our little family. NᴀᴍᴇWhen he was born, he was given the name Kyrios, meaning "lord". He always believed that the Greek name was always too complicated for him and didn't fit him correctly, so he changed his named to Kiro, meaning simply "King". Kiro admired how the four letter named was very fluent and smooth off his tongue and loved the elegance of the short, dignified name.
His voice sounds a like this. Gᴇɴᴅᴇʀ
Kiro is male, but his sexuality is still a question. He is attracted to both genders, making him bisexual, but is still very confused his sexuality.
Qᴜɪʀᴋs
Kiro is extremely socially awkward and always stands out from the crowd. In public, he tends to hide behind his hair and talk very quietly when meeting a new person, making it hard for him to make friends. Another one of his little idiosyncrasies is how when he gets nervous his tail tends to curve over and twitch anxiously. This characterisitc makes others become very uncomfortable around him or even get frustrated with the mellow cat.
Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ
Kiro is rather mellow and quiet most of the time, but in his head he is quite the opposite. In his head he is very clever and intelligent, he just doesn't know how to say it with words. Usually Kiro would rather chat with Eren, his companion, because he is afraid he will do the wrong thing which happens most of the time. His words are very fluent and soft when he's by himself, because he has nothing to worry about. In front of others, he will stutter a lot and never make eye contact. Kiro is very socially awkward and hates being the center of attention. He likes to hide behind his hair so others can't make eye contact and speak quietly so he is barely audible. With a boost of confidence, he can be very humorous with his clever jokes and be a lot of fun with his bright ideas. He can be very sensitive to insults, but sometimes enough is enough. Every once in a while he will stand up for someone else or himself and become very aggressive and confident. He is typically very stubborn and always goes by facts or his own belief. After his "moments", he becomes very quiet, confused, and embarrassed, but will still stick with his point. Even though he hates his constant thinking, he is an excellent problem solver and is always the first to make a difference.

Cᴏᴍᴘᴀɴɪᴏɴ
Kiro's companion is a tiny African Pygmy Falcon named Eren. Eren is almost the size of Kiro's head, but the two are actually best friends. The small falcon loves to rest on Kiro's tail and sing a little song to help quiet the paranoid and anxious kokoro. Eren enjoys resting in Kiro's tail and snugging up with the kokoro, but the little bird does have a fierce side. Eren is a lot more courageous and energetic compared to Kiro. Birds naturally have a faster metabolism, but tiny Eren loves to force Kiro into games like hide-and-seek and tag. Eren is very childish and enjoys fun games, so he brings out the child within Kiro and helps the shy kokoro relax and have some fun. Eren isn't like most other birds though, since he doesn't actually think he's a bird. Instead of the loud screeching noises, Eren barks and wags his tail feathers like a dog. Hᴏᴡ Tʜᴇʏ Mᴇᴛ
Most birds consider it a tragedy to fall out of the nest. Others think it's sudden death or suicide. For a bird who doesn't think he's a bird, it's freedom. Eren was not the ugly duckling nor the brightest tool in the shed. The first thing to come out of Eren's mouth was "woof". His parents were very concerned with their chick's behavior and tried to reason with him, but there was no changing Eren's mind. Eren had wondered why he was in a nest, since he was a dog after all. His parents were flabbergasted when they started to teach their chicks how to fly and Eren has responded, "Puppies don't fly, silly."
His parents soon gave up trying to teach there little "puppy" how to fly. The others chicks made fun of him calling him a "feathered mutt" and a "Flying Fleabag". Eren wagged his little tail feathers and barked back at them aggressively, but their only response was a bunch of laughter. "Now now, Eren is a little different. It's just a phase, and soon he will be learning to fly like the rest of you!"
"No. I'm a dog. And dogs don't fly, Mama."
Enough was enough. Eren couldn't handle the incessant teasing, so he spread his wings and wagged his tail. "Today is the day!" He shouted and watched his parents take out for their hunting trip. The chicks had not learned to fly yet, but Eren was still the farthest behind. After his parents were far gone, he hopped to the side of the nest and gazed down at the ground beneath him.
"3.. 2.. 1.."
The small bird tumbled through the air.
Down.
"Ahh!" Shouted Kiro, who had been sitting quietly at the base of the sleep gently resting his eyes. The kokoro leaped up and fluffed up his fur, staring at the unconscious chick. Kiro gently picked up Eren and rushed him back into his house, since Kiro had always had a soft spot for animals. He gently wrapped the bird's wings with bandages and placed his upon a soft cushion.
As soon as Eren woke up, he barked furiously and flailed his little wings. "Hooowwwl! Bark! Bark! What have you done to my paws!? Why does it hurt to move?! Where is my nest?!" He yelped and stared at Kiro angrily. "What?.. Paws? I wrapped your wings, before I feared they may have been broken. Sit still for a second.... you may injure yourself again. You fell from your nest, so you may be a little sore, shocked, and surprised." Eren narrowed his eyes and sunk down within his fluffy feathers as he spoke quietly, "I don't want to go back there. I'm ok, I meant to do that." Kiro tilted his head and widened his eyes, "Oh really? I can tell you're not fine.. so..... you shoul-must stay with me till you're healed up." Kiro voice gained more confidence as he watched the bird shift a bit and get more comfortable on the cushion. "Better get comfortable, it's gonna be a long ride." Kiro said with a soft smiled and laid down as he watched the bird drift off to sleep.

Alone Together by Fall Out Boy
Reason?
These two fit like puzzle peices, yet are completely different from the others around them. Kiro has always been socially awkward and never felt comfortable around most kokoros, while Eren believes he fits in more with dogs then his own species. They both are cardinals in a flock of blue jays. They would rather just be alone exploring the world together instead of hiding in the shadows.
Don't Wait by Joey Graceffa
Reason?
In the begining, you see a boy(1) pretending to be sword fighting and his mother happily watching. This represents how Eren's mother supported her child, even if she knew he was different from the rest. As the boy(1) got into relativity, he was picked on and bullied by the other kids. Eren's siblings consistently tortured the young bird just because he was different. The other boy(2) sitting alone rescues the boy(1) being bullied, like how Kiro found Eren and helped him heal. The lyrics say, "The darkness can be such a lonely place on your own; I'll be your compass so you'll never feel alone", showing how Kiro and Eren help direct each other and guide each other through their lives and give each other companionship so they never feel like they're all alone. When the boys get older, boy(2) becomes trapped in a cage. Kiro represents boy(2), so it shows how he can always become trapped within his own mind. Boy(1) finds him, but becomes face to face with his dark half. Eren is also faced with himself, not knowing whether he is a dog or a bird. The boy(1) must defeat himself in order to rescue his friend and accept who he is. This song clearly represents how Kiro and Eren met and how they depend on one another.

Lᴀsᴛʟʏ..
I know literately everyone says this and it can get a little generic and annoying, but I must say I fell in love with this kokoro at first sight and had to try out for it. I will make it quick since I am an artist for a species, so it can get frustrating when everyone says this and begs for the adoptable or there is this giant mount of writing with no "eye candy". I had a lot of fun with the form, and this character brought me a lot of joy and inspiration to create art. Every piece of art in the form was created by me. I may not be the best or intermediate, but I tried a few different styles of art and think I have found the one I want to stick with and practice more with. I'm definitely trying my best, but sometimes it just isn't enough compared to others talented creativity and thinking. This whole contest is great for everyone, and I feel bad for everyone who doesn't win this. Congrats to whoever wins the kokoro, and hopefully they spoil them with art and writing!
