Parents:

Just want to make sure about this, she would probably not know what Thanatos does for a living. They would both try very hard to keep it from her.

Both are more protective then normal as they lost their first child.
Malik would be the calmer parent - Sweety, please dont touch that. etc
Thanatos would be the parent to pick child up move child. And then cave if tears happen.

Malik IMAGE (Surfer/Life Guard)
Total laid-back surfer guy. He puts others needs before his own a lot, which tends to some times get himself hurt. Is strangely blunt, as he says it in an almost joking way. Very easy to talk to and doesnt mind trying to give advise. His one of those people everyone knows, just cause he quite sociable. Doesnt get scared or nervous to often. It also takes a lot to tick him off or frustrate him.


Thanatos IMAGE (Mercenary/Hitman)
How he acts around others
Than pretty much hates everyone. He doesnt like the chatter, he doesnt like the loud technology and he doesnt like the living. Tends to be very quiet and settles for glaring at people. When he does talk, he's normally soft spoken but is super polite. He has serious issues with people touching him and avoids physical contact. He does kill people for a living, so he most definitely is NOT friendly. Not use to others being nice to him, so he gets a little shell shocked. Doesnt really have emotions anymore, most were beaten out of him.
How he acts around Malik/Kids
Tends to be a little more vocal, but not by much. Will allow cuddles and such but still tends to tense up. Tries to use expressions. Will pretty much stalk Malik(+child) if he leaves the house by himself, cause he's worried, though he doesnt understand why he does it. Tends to be a little bit of a push over/sucker, tries to spoil them.

Personality:
Penny is the type of mako who puts up a ton of walls and only lets other see what she thinks they want to see. It's not that she hates everyone or that she doesn't want to make friends. It's quite the opposite actually. She wants everyone to be friends with her, or at least to like her. She's always had the fear of being hated by everyone, so she tries her best to not upset anyone.

How does she act with her parents:
As an outsider looking in, you would think Penny's relationship with her parents is normal. But it is far from that. She acts like the sweet, kind, and family oriented mako that she feels her parents want. She gets good grades at school, participates in a couple sports, and never gets written up for bad behavior. But inside, she wants nothing more than to sneak out the house and go and socialize (-coughcough-party-coughcough-) with her friend Fae. She knows how supportive her parents are, but because of how protective they can be she doubts they would let her stay out past dark with Fae. And she has all but thrown away her dream of becoming a fashion designer since her dream school is in Paris. Fae and her talked about going there together, being roommates, helping each other with school... but Penny doesn't know how to bring it up to her parents. How would they feel? Would they forbid her from going? Would they hate her for wanting to go there? She's afraid of the answers to those questions so for now she bottles it all up and pretends to be normal and happy.

Ryder


"The rebellious surfer."

This mostly sums of Ryder in 3 words. She is a very smart and dedicated girl who has a love and passion for surfing. She has been surfing ever since she has been able to. The reason why she learned how to surf was because she found that it is really thrilling to get up on the waves and to feel the wind hit her face. She also likes it because it expresses who she really is.

She has found that she has a pretty bad temper and ends up snapping at everybody around her when she's grumpy or isolating herself until it has passed by. She also realized that she isn't as social as Malik and tends to do her own thing. Like Thanathos, though, she hates being touched by anybody. She's the most comfortable with hugging Malik every now and then but usually she stays away from contact. When someone does touch her, she usually glares at them and tells them to back off before storming away.

If somebody did befriend her, though, she'd be outgoing to them as well as very loyal and caring towards them. Ryder transforms into a whole new person around her friends and becomes a crazy rebellious girl who likes to get into trouble when the sun sets. She usually doesn't do anything that would harm people though. This girl lives two different lives basically and is pretty righteous when you get to know her if you get the chance to, that is.


Ryder gets along with both of her parents very well, though she tends to be more of a "loner" as she puts it. When she does talk to her parents though she is usually cautious about what she says since they are both so overprotective of her. She doesn't want them to ground her or anything since she is always out surfing all day or causing some sort of harmless trouble. Either way, she loves both of them a lot and respects them.

Ryder with Malik:
Oddly enough, Ryder is overprotective of Malik. With Thanatos who leaves suddenly to go kill somebody, she doesn't know how long he'll be gone for or why so she feels like she has to be the one to replace him until he comes back. This means that while she is surfing, she's always keeping an eye on who he talks to and makes sure that he doesn't get himself in trouble since he puts others needs and wants before his own. This Ryder disapproves of and tries to tell her dad that his needs can come before others sometimes as well, but he only half listens. Ryder figures this is because she is a child and it annoys her greatly.

Despite this, though, they get along pretty well. Ryder looks up to Malik for his surfing skills and often goes surfing with him whenever he can so she can improve her skills. She hopes to someday go and compete against other surfers so she could catch some really big waves and have the opportunity to meet other really cool surfers. Rather than that, she'll talk to him every now and then and occasionally will tease him and be playful, but they mostly bond over the water more than anything.

Ryder with Thanatos:
Their relationship is... Odd to say the very least. Ryder is always curious and wondering why he is gone but never bothers to ask him since she feels like she needs to wait until she is older before asking, as Malik told her that it's something a child shouldn't know about. Ryder tends to be concerned about Thanatos for some reason that she doesn't quite understand yet, and it's led her to trying to impress him and make him proud of her. She is more social towards Thanatos and is always telling him about some new surf boarding tricks that she hopes to learn eventually. Sometimes she'll get him to talk for 10 minutes at the most, but it still makes her happy and she hopes that someday she'll be able to make him feel really comfortable enough the family that he'll be more "lively" looking as she puts it.

Ryder gets on Thanatos's bad side a bit more than Malik, though. Sometimes she'll sneak out to a little gathering with other kids her age to go adventuring or to be doing something that she shouldn't do. She gets caught on occasions and when they do, there's usually a full blown argument. Ryder would feel ashamed and yet feels like she has to defend herself since her heart yearns for more thrill in her life rather than surfing on waves. She wants to feel danger and this is where Thanatos draws the line. He's content with her surfing, (though he still worries about her getting injured every now and then) but when she sneaks out he lets all of his fury out on her and it stresses Malik out a little bit. This usually happens once a month and Ryder always retreats to her room and doesn't come out except to eat for an entire week. She refuses to talk to Thanatos for a month or so, and it makes her feel bad about it since he's only trying to protect her. Ryder's always the one to approach him and they usually talk it out and make up afterwords.

Even though they have their bad days, Ryder tries to get along with both of her parents and has made herself content with learning new (and a bit dangerous) surfing tricks. It gives her the thrill that she needs every day and she loves it, especially when both of her parents are watching her and encouraging her.
