Why: Vesemir was raised to be a hunting dog; one of the finest, in fact. Before coming to Novigrad he was used exactly for that purpose. Novigrad's always prided itself on its hunting dogs, but noticed that the newest pup wasn't quite as hardy as the other hunters. He clashed with the preexisting hunting team and wasn't quite aggressive enough to hunt on his own. After a while of trying other events, he finally found his calling: lure coursing.

event - Dock diving, also known as dock jumping, is a sport in which dogs compete to jump the highest, and farthest, off of a dock, and into water. Much like human long jump, and high jump combined, but for dogs, and with water. In distance jumping, called "Ultimate Air", the dog's master throw's a toy belonging to the dog off of the dock, in hopes the dog will jump as far as possible off the dock, and after their toy. The distance of the dog's jump is measured and recorded based off of the place where the base of the dog's tail comes in contact with the water. In "Ultimate Vertical", which is a newer version to the sport, is equivalent to human high jump, but with a few twists. A bumper is placed at a predetermined height, and is made higher each time a dog reaches it. The dog that can reach it when no others can is the winner.

Event/Competitions: Tracking competitions (without Bloodhounds).
Although he is no Bloodhound Haz is a really good tracker and beneath the competitions he is trained as a man tracker.
Why: Ok, the two main reasons are simple and really obvious but in my eyes the most important ones. Haz participates in tracking events because he can and he simply loves to do it. When he was a young pup he already showed that he loves games where he can search something or someone. Hide and seek always was one of his favourite games. And Haz has a talent to find things and people. So why not chosing the kind of sport he is good at? Especially as the tracking training is quite usefull beneath sportive activities. Tracking dogs are rare where we live, but often needed. Maybe you think of hunting criminals first, but most of the people we search are children or old persons who got lost. Especially old people sometimes forget the way home but urgently need their medicine and care. Therefore many of our tracking requests come from retirement homes.

Why: Adventurous, focused, and energetic, Samsin has always been one that wanted to be out in nature, exploring the wild and finding new places to explore. Even as a puppy he cared more for the snow-covered forest than his warm, safe blanket. So, as he got older, it was only natural for his owners to put that amazing nose to good use! At a young age they began teaching him how to track, and he sucked it up like a sponge. By a year old he could track upwards of six miles on a mediocre scent trail in a rainstorm; he definitely had talent, that was obvious. They kept up his training relentlessly, and he only continued to improve each test he was presented with. On one such test he was asked to clear some obstacles; he quite literally took them in stride, leaping up and over a four foot wall like it was nothing. And to him it really was nothing. So, the owner that was with him on that particular test, decided to try his dog on the agility course. While the obedient and dutiful Samsin was far more fond of tracking, he did very well, and his training in Agility began; he was even slated to compete in his first competition, and expectations were high that he'd bring home a blue ribbon. Sadly just after Samsin's second birthday the husband of the breeding kennel passed away, and the woman had to close down and put all dogs up for sale, minus her personal Kelpies. She kept Samsin on a training routine when she could, though, just so he wouldn't lose his edge.

Why: Shotgun is fast, agile and will do anything to please his master. One of the main reasons he does flyball is because he loves to run, play with the ball and loves to be rewarded after a good event. Shotgun started training as a pup to compete in sheep herding , but his owner realized that he wasn't enjoying it as much as playing fetch, so he started flyball.
