The time read 11:02 AM when I arrived at the stables. I had my riding boots on when I got to the barn and went over to the left barn where Irati was. The mare was in her stall, looking at the other horses that were also in their stalls. I slid the door of Irati's stall open after I got here purple nylon halter and I put the halter on Irati's head. Making sure she was comfortable with her surroundings, I led her over to the nearest pasture and as soon as I got over there, I unlocked the front gate and let Irati to graze, making sure I got her halter off her. Some horses trotted up to her and whinnied at Irati.
While Irati was in the pasture interacting with the other horses and ponies, I got my muck boots, put them on, and went back to Irati's stall and grabbed a sturdy shovel and slid the stall door open once again. One stallion in particular kept looking at me with his brown eyed gaze. I didn't quite know him well, but all I knew was that he was one of the lesson horses here. Getting back to work, I found a wheelbarrow and brought it over to the stall with the wooden door. I picked up the shovel, scooped up the old flax bedding, and shoveled it into the wheelbarrow.
After about 30 minutes of getting the old hay out of the stall, I got some new, fresher flax and spread it around the stall ground. Some time passed, and I got rid of the old bedding and put my dark colored riding boots on again. Today I thought I might as well try to make Irati hopefully do pole work, but because that might not be the best idea, so instead I browsed my phone for a while and then I would try to ride Irati again today. But before I could ride her again, I texted one of the riding instructors and asked him if I could go ride Irati again and he said that it was okay to ride her with an instructor. I decided to eat lunch here instead of home.
It was 1:31 PM after I finished my lunch of a sandwich, an apple, and a cookie along with some fresh water. I decided to go back to the pasture where Irati was located and clipped the purple halter on to her. I then led her over to the nearest tie-up post and tied the lead rope to the post. Then I went to the tack room and got a set of all purpose tack and set it on the tie-up post. First, I put the white saddle pad on Irati's back close to her withers, then the leather brown saddle, and lastly, the bitless bridle.
I took the halter off Irati's head, hanging it up next to her stall. Gripping the reins, I led the mare out to the indoor arena after I texted the riding instructor and met him at the arena. As soon as I got there, I grabbed the mounting block, positioned Irati so she'd be okay, and sat firmly in the saddle. Making sure my feet were looking good in the stirrups, I checked the girth to make sure it was fine.
After that, I let my pony get used to the feeling of a person on her back once again, and lightly kicked her side and told her to walk. She understood, going at a steady walk around the arena. Every 10 minutes or so, Irati would shake her grayed mane. After 20 minutes of going around the ring at the pace of a walk, again I nudged Irati's side and told her to trot. Irati switched gaits under my command, and after 20 minutes I thought she was doing a bit better than yesterday. The mare responded to most of my commands, and unlike last time, she never spooked.
About what seemed like an hour or two passed, I decided to take a risk and ride Irati back to the stables to untack her. The ride back was pretty good. I went back to a tie up post, got Irati untacked and replaced the bridle with a halter and put the tack in the tack room. I went back to Irati and lead her out into the pasture. There's always someone who lets all the horses back into their stalls at 8 PM, so I left Irati in the pasture and went home. The time read 4:28 PM when I went back home.
