Chrysaora Basilisks #269 | Orphan Rescue Event

Postby noreptiles_ » Mon Jul 20, 2015 10:28 am

General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

- first encounter
- gaining trust
- first feeding

Name: Trienne
Gender: Male
Task: (First encounter)
The silver grullo colt trembled, his eyes wide as I gazed down at him from my spot on the wall. Tilting my head to one side I blinked slowly and then swung my legs over and jumped down into the next stall, landing neatly in the deep bed of straw. Straightening, I merely moved out of the stall and made my way over to lean on the door of the stall that my newest charge had been placed in.

"It seems I wasn't here when you first arrived" I mused out loud more to myself than anyone else who could possibly be around.

A tiny noise came from within the depths of the stall and I looked up, my gaze once more landing on the silver grullo Chry foal as he stared at me. I sighed softly and let my head rest on the smooth sun warmed wooden door. I found myself wishing that I had been here when he'd first arrive. Maybe this first meeting would have gone a little better that just staring, him shaking in fear and me left wishing things were better.

Standing, I unbolted the door and stepped inside, shutting it behind me. The foal stared with wide terrified eyes and shrank back into the corner.

"Shhhh, little one. It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you" I murmured gently as I crouched down in the straw, trying to make myself look as non threatening as I possibly could.

Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.

name: Prim (Hunger Games related-read the story to understand)
Gender: female
task: first encounter
I was walking through the auction early in the morning, looking for a lost babe to save when I saw Prim. She was the third to last stall on the right and I was drawn to her luscious purple and blue mane. I saw her small eyes filled with confusion and distrust. I said to one of the volunteers, "Does she have any bids?" He said no. I glanced over at her again and saw that she was being yanked out her stall. I rushed over and stopped the handlers. Her eyes had fear in them so I decided to bravely step in front of the young Chrys and try to calm her knowing that I could get paralyzed and turned into a nettle. But I didn't care. She needed to be saved. I started to hum the song "Hanging Tree" to her and her ears pricked forward. I took her lead from the inexperienced handler and started to gently stroke the beautiful babe. I continued to hum to her and walk her back into her stall. She laid down and I sat next to her. Still humming "Hanging Tree" and petting her, she set her head into my lap and stared into my eyes. I could see all of her fear and confusion slip out of her beautiful eyes. A couple young handlers came to take her away but I shooed them away. Claiming her as my own. I said to the volunteer, "I am going to buy her." It was now two or three o'clock and I had spent 4 hours with her. I braided her whole mane and she fell asleep in my lap. I decided that she was perfect for my barn and that with my mellow and friendly herd she would fit in quite nicely. After I filled out the last piece of paperwork, I gave her a couple of apples and walked her into my trailer. She was hesitant at first, but I walked in with her, humming the "Hanging Tree" song again for the millionth time. And she seemed content and safe. Her eyes looked as if they were filled with happiness.
