General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Name Reasoning;; Raphael is a guy who isn't easily impressed. He's very self-loving and does anything to impress the ladies. I believe the name 'Raphael' suits him very much as it reminds me of someone who is very passionate about what they do and takes interest in odd yet fascinating things. Of course, then there's his nickname 'Jaffa'. He did not give it to himself, however. It all started a long time ago when a small colt pointed out that his mane and tail looked like a Jaffa cake (to which of course everyone burst out laughing). Poor Raphael isn't very fond of the name but it only bothers him if other males call him by it.

A young Tadeo once sought out the oldest Chrysaora in his herd, an old mare. The mare had seen many things, and one of her favoured pastime was to collect names. Tadeo's own name had been suggested by her. But he was curious as to what it meant. Young Tadeo was a strong, lively colt. He was eager to help, anyone and everyone. He always tried to please everyone, (even though it was slightly futile, for not everyone could be pleased at the same time.)
To cut the story shorter, after much begging (for Tadeo was a curious little foal) and reluctance on the mare's part, Tadeo learnt the meaning of his name. And he was proud of it, for who wouldn't be proud of such a strong, noble name? And in this pride he took, Tadeo slowly became vain. The change was slow; from humble he went to taking things for granted. For he was a gift from the heavens, he was desired, and he deserved praise, did he not?
I chose this name for him because his design looked to me like he was a strong, noble character. Then I found the name Tadeo. Boom! Match made. I wanted to twist the meaning of the name a little; what better way than to turn something proud and noble into something haughty, vain and arrogant? Tis just a fine line.
