General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

The story goes like this;
A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

I walked into the stable that had become almost like my second home since when I had started to take Chrys into my care. The stable was as per usual quiet, but that was a given when most of the occupants of the stable came and went as they liked. They had their own herds to tend to and I would never have the intent to force them away from that life of theirs. I sighed happily as the watery sent of the equines reached me, currently there was only three horses staying at the stable, two who I had known for a while and my newest addition, I small foal who had only recently been rescued from a terrible fate. I had worked hard on getting things ready for the little one as I had just entered myself to the program before i had gotten a reply and a foal at my hand to care for. I had sectioned of the farthest corner of the stable, preparing one of the bigger stall that was originally meant for any insecure, mated or Chrys in general who prefer to stay together with someone. I had even taken the time to fence of a section outside of said stall to leave the little on with a choice on whether to stay indoors or be out in the partially grassy and partially stone covered field that lied close to the ocean and not all too far away form some of the cave systems the Chrys like the roam around in.

When I finally came to a stop at the designated stall I couldn't help but feel excited, so far I haven't had the time to actually have a good look at the little one and had only gotten a quick glance of them as they had been unloaded before I had to go and finish of the last preparations needed. I walked up and was met by face of my first ever Chry, a mare called Star-fall. Her curious eyes locked onto me for a second as she quietly chewed on a mouthful of hay she had carried up with her. She then dove down again and continued picking at the hay I had thrown in as a part of the preparations. I carefully leaned on the edge of the door and looked the mare over, she had a few scratches here and there but was otherwise fine and seemed to be completely calm about being closed in like this. I had always known that she would be the one who would be the calmest about this all, which was why I had chosen her to take in for a few days to keep the little one company as they became accustomed to their new situation.

My eyes leaned over to the smaller occupant of the stall as a small sound of distress could be heard form their direction. My eyes landed on a Light coloured foal of a light beige that went to a darker shade along the top of their body.The little one barely looked old enough to be older than just hatched which took a hit to my heart as i came to think of the fate this one was put before at the start of their life. I just stayed still and watches the little beauty for a time, as they walked around on unstable legs before settling in one of the corners, causally looking around whilst making small sounds that even made star-fall advert her attention to the little one. With that I left the two of them alone and settled myself on the opposite side of the stable, bringing out my little notebook with the words Chrysaora Basilisks of the stable free-roaming written on the cover of it.

I flickered through the pages and stopped on a blank page a few pages away from my lasted addition to the book and started to carefully scribble down what I had on the little one so far. In the top left corner I quickly sketched up a simple base to an headshot of them and surrounded it by a square, leaving the details for later when I could fully studythe full details of them. I then drew a few lines beside the square and wrote down female on the second row since that was the gender I felt for them and decided to call them upon, but I left the lines that formed the word soft and barely visible as I knew for a fact that this could come to change in the future if the little mare would found herself to respond better to another pronoun. I then filled in the colour of the girl along with their day of birth. I started to gently tap my fingers on the little notebook as I tried to come up with a suiting name. I tried many combinations of words before I found one that stuck and whit that I wrote down the words "Live to see another day " on the top row of the page to then add the name I would mostly call the girl upon later along the line, Dia. I found myself smiling at the name, it suited her, she had survived the worst and now had a new day before her. I flipped to the next page, and started to write down the past of Dia, whilst listening to the small sounds coming form the stall in front of me

I walked up towards the stable known so well to me, hands gently tapping at my legs as I walked. I stopped midstep reaching out my hand and taking a hold of the corner of the stable so I could securely lean around said corner and see whether either of the two equines where in the outside portion of the enclosure put up for them. After having spotted the familiar grey and white mare I straightened myself up and walked around and up the side of the stable. I gently called out for star-fall before whistling at her to bring up her attention when she didn't respond to her name which was nothing new. She lifted her head up and called out in a short yet soft chirp before going back to picking at the grass cautiously a few seconds later. I just sighed in amusement form the mare's ways and walked up to the fence before gently leaning on it. I started to talk softly to the mare, asking if she knew where her little friend was even though I already knew I wouldn't get much of a reply from the mare before me as she barely even paid much attention to me.

I quickly spotted the little brightly coloured mare, her head carefully poking out of the backdoor of the stall before calling out in a low distressed tone towards the bigger mare who only replied in a soft hum as her way to try and encourage the little girl as she looked her down with soft and caring eyes. I smiled gently at Dia before carefully taking off the backpack I had had slung over my right shoulder. I set the backpack down and opened it up, bringing out some treats for the girls, hoping that I could encourage the girl to come up to me with some treats. Star-fall instantly lock her attention on me and walks up, chirping softly at me as I reach out a few bits towards her. She happily accepts the treat and chewed noisily which attracted the attention of Dia. I threw a quick glance towards her and crouched down a little, grabbed some more of the treat before stretching my hand forward in her direction before gently calling out to her, asking if she would like some too. The little girl took one hesitant step forward but stopped after that, I knew to be patient and wait her after what she had been through so I sat there with my hand outstretched, whilst trying my best to keep Star-fall away to not have her take them instead.

After what I could count to be a few minutes of the Dia taking a few hesitant steps at the time I finally found her to be just ta few feet away from me, head stretched out as far as she could without tipping over as she breathed in the scent of the treats. I threw one of treats down by her hooves, careful to not scare her and have to start over from the start yet again. She curiously lowered her head and picked at the treat with her muzzle before carefully biting into it, her movements where so gentle and calculated, much the opposite to the mare standing beside me and whining quietly at me as I wouldn't allow her more of the treats. I had always been clueless over how the mare have managed to stay intact for so long with the quite dangerous stunts she likes to pull from time to time. Dia gently brought her head up as she chewed on the treat, clearly liking the taste of it as she called out in a bright chirp once she was done, hopeful for more. I just spoke gently to her, moving my hand around a bit to show her that I had more and also to encourage her to step forward a little bit more. I managed to make her take a couple of more steps forward before I threw her another bit, with that i also picked up a few more bits of the treat and threw a bit in Star-falls direction to get her attention away for a while as she was starting to get a little bit too pushy with her begging. After Dia had devoured yet another bit of the treats I had brought she was finally pretty much straight in front of me. At that I crouched down a little bit lower so that I was pretty much the same height as her before gently reaching my hand out to her, encouraging her to take some of the treats I had left in my hand.

After a few moments of hesitation Dia finally reached forward and quickly grabbed one of the bits from my hand to then pull her head back and chew it up before taking a small step forward and getting to the other bits i had left. And I just sat there, mumbling gentle words at her, waiting for her to relax with my presence before carefully reaching my other hand out and gently dragging it along the side of her neck. She reacted by flinching and pulling away ever so slightly but I just stayed low and picked up some more treats from my bag and reached out for her. After a few moments of what I could only think of her considering the options she had she stepped up to me again and picked at the treats again. And this time when I reached out and gently petted her side she didn't step back even though I could see her tense up a bit. She just stayed there in front of me happily chewing at the treats, slowly getting used to my touch and presence.

I spent most of my day at the stable that day, trying to be around the girls as much as possible to get the little one as used to me as possible so that I could do what I was about to do now, properly try and feed her. Technically this wouldn't be my first feeding of her but I couldn't really count a couple of small pieces of treats as a proper feeding so whatever others would think of the situation I would put this as my first time feeding her in my mind. I stepped back outside after having been inside the stable to prepare a bottle for Dia, and after having cheeked to make sure the content was of a acceptable temperature as I stepped around the corner of the stable yet again. I quickly made my way to the enclosure, calling out to the two girls before gently hopping over the fence. Star-fall who had quickly gone bored of me after having realised she wouldn't be getting anymore treats from me and was currently laid down in the grass a few feet away with Dia gently picking at the grass around her. Both of the girls looked up at me as i entered the enclosure even though Star-fall quickly adverted her gaze once she realised it was me and just laid her head down in the grass whilst Dia gently hummed at me before taking some careful steps my way.

I crouched down as she got closer, making my best to not intimidate her or scare her up as I didn't feel like starting over in square one after having made such big steps in gaining the girl's trust over the day. Once she had gotten close enough and I had gotten to pet at her for a while I slowly stood up, making sure to stop whenever she became a bit uncomfortable to then continue when she had calmed down once again. Then once I found myself standing up fully on both my legs I carefully brought forth the bottle I meant to feed her with and tried my best to get her interested in it. At first Dia was very suspicious of the bottle but after some time her curiosity overtook this suspicion as she started to take in the smell coming from it and she started gently pushing at it with her snout. I waited as patiently as I could all whilst trying to encourage her to try it out.

For some time she just pushed it about but just as I was starting to get tired and had gone over to gently swaying in my spot rather than standing still close to her she carefully nibbled at the end directed her way to then pretty much instantly pull back a bit in what i would call thoughtfulness. After some time of what i assumed to be just her thinking she finally leaned forward again and properly starting to feed from the bottle. And at that I couldn't help but smile a little to then just continue and encourage her and get her to eat properly, making sure to memorize this moment so I could add it to my notebook later.

Weeks had pasted since I first gained the trust of Dia and since then she had been growing quite well and had really began to settle in living under my care. But I had also come to almost regret choosing keeping Star-fall as her company as the mare herself could be quite the troublemaker by herself and it really didn't help that Dia proved herself to be quite the playful little dame which was something that apparently encouraged Star-fall to be even more of a troublemaker. I had already had to fix the fence three times before I just simply gave up and it was no surprise when I came in to the stable this morning that there was a new hole in the fence even though there still was a part of the fence busted down from a few days back. I just sighed quietly and brought my hand up to my face before walking up to the quite broken down enclosure. Once I concluded that the two mares where nowhere to be seen I gently called out to them followed by a whistle.

It was not long after I had called out that I heard the quick pattern of hooves against the hard ground and Star-fall quickly followed by Dia who had grown to about half the size of Star-fall already both came running my way from the hills close by. They both came to a stop at my side, Star-fall gently pushing at me hoping to get a treat which I gave her without much thought to it. It was first when I reached out to the mares to pet therm lightly that I noticed that they were both soaking wet and water was latterly dripping form all over them and covering the ground below them. I just chuckled at that fact and promptly turned to Star-fall and spoke up to her in an amused tone "So you're teaching Dia your antics huh?". The mare didn't give much of a response other than pushing at me and emitting a low hum. But Dia on the other hand seemed to be bouncing with energy and after having apparently stood still for far too long she took a hold on the sleeve of my shirt and dragged at me a bit to then let go and run off in the way she came from. Star-fall was quick to follow after a last push at my side and I was left there standing, smiling a bit overt heir antics even though it came to annoy me a lot of times. I just shook my head lightly and chuckled yet again before getting to following them, more or less excited to see what they had been getting at.
