'Hi stranger! You surely ask yourself why a horse can talk to you like that.... hmm... well i don't know either but for this ocassion i'm allowed to do so.' A soft and gentle female voice echoes through your head. Right in front of you a horse appears and looks at your. First shy and with a bit of distance but everytime you breath, she comes a little bit closer to you. You reach your hand for her nose but stopps right in front of her. If that horse wants contact with you she should be the one, who decides when she was ready to allow it. With an expression of disbelieve you look into her eyes. Just now you recognize her orange eyes. Pictures of amber and the setting sun pops into your mind. Your body relaxes and becomes less stiff. You breath slower and the only thing you hear is the song of the birds and wind in the trees. 'Don't be afraid little one! I won't harm you! Let me tell you my story and you will understand. And when you understand you will tame me and life your life as i do!' The horse touches your hand with her nose and looks deep in your eyes. Something feels strange in you. Suddenly your body wants to run, feel the wind, show his power and be free! Your Hand slides along her nose. Soft and warm. 'Climb on my back and i will tell you my story... my story of life and death'. At first you didn't really belive your ears but your feet move on their own. Carefully you climb over the fence, strikes along the nose, neck and the upper body of the horse. She was soft, warm and full of life. You look to her once again before you pull yourself up on her back. 'You don't need to know how to ride me... let me show you howto ride me and let your instincts guide you'. You close your eyes and breath the fresh air around you. The horse began to walk... she turns over and walks with very relaxed to a forest part near the fence.
'My name is Viridi strager. I look after the animals, who live here. They say i'm something like the guardian of nature but like you can see i'm just a normal horse. Don't be afraid!' Viridi aims for a place between some great trees. Behind them was a large place, where just gras and colourful flowers grow. She stopps. 'Here... at this place we were born. Me and my beloved brother Icarus.'
Viridi lowers her head and ate some gras. 'It was a happy time for us! Many foals were born here and we got a lot of friends to play but we loved it more to play with each other. Just the two of us!' She slowly continues walking along side a river. You can see your reflection in it. It's so clear! More and more trees show up and the place gets slightly darker. 'One day our happyness disappeard... Thunder echoed through the air, trees disappeared, loud unknown voices scream through the forest. Fear was in the air! We run but day after day members of our herd disappeared... ' Viridis steps becoming faster and finally she run... as fast as she can. You hold on tight to her mane and covers yourself behind her strong neck. The trees absorb all the light, which comes through. Darkness.. Everywhere... You just can trust your ears because your eyes were useless right now. Slowly you understand that you feel the same right now, what the other horses and she felt at that moment! Viridi run and run and run. The forest disappeard and right in front of them, there was a huge cliff. She reared and had trouble not to fall down. 'I still can remember it as it was yesterday... my family run... just like we did and there was this cliff... behind us were creatures like you and hunted us! With them were also horses but they looked weird... they hadn't that look in their eyes anymore and weren't free... they did what those creatures said.' She turned around and looked into the forrest. 'My father made a decision... he had to safe the herd and tried to distract them but the last thing i saw was, that he run into the other horses and fell... i never saw him again after that. My mother took me and my brother alongside the cliff. Always pushing and talking to us... we shall not look back... in no circumstances!' Your heart feel heavy and you can't belive what you hear! You just know the peaceful interaction with horses... how was this possible in a time like today?
'My brother made one mistake... he looked back... in panic, he tried to run. He don't know where but it didn't care to him! He just wanted to escape that nightmare but then a rope got him... He fought against them! Biting and kicking with all his might but he couldn't win the fight... Icarus hadn't any fear, was brave and tried to follow his instincts but at the end they got him... ' You lower your head. So much things running through your head. 'Me and my mother were the only ones who didn't get caught or killed... She got old and died a few years ago but was never able to see Icarus again. We searched for him but didn't find him...' Suddenly your head starts thinking like crazy. You ask Viridi how her brother looks like and if he has also such a wing marking on his shoulders like she has. The mares eyes widened as you asked those questions. Without knowing it you and the mare reached the fence again.
'Have you seen my brother? It sounds alot like that! Yes he also has such a white wing mark on his shoulder(s) but the is much more bright then i am... If the light shines on him, animals say, he becomes the sun itself! He is a very fast one too! But the most important thing on him are his eyes! If you look at him your body feels warm and calm. And... you see the sun shine in them.' Now your mind stops spinning. The only thing you can do now is grinning all over your face! The you know where her brother is.
You: If i tell you were he is, will you come with me and live a life as wild and free as you do now?
The mare looks at you but then steps back and lowers her head just like she bows to you ' If you help me finding my brother i will tolerate you as my new leader! But you have to respect me too. If you do that our lives will be become one!'
(Sorry for so much text but everything just flow out of my fingers so i had to write it... i don't know if you understand it (didn't read it a second time
) or if it makes sense but let me know your opinion ^-^)
