Phaethon's Tekes will be celebrating one year on Chicken Smoothie on May 17th! Time flies when you're having fun!
I'm posting a handful of Happy Birthday tekes for the celebrations and as a thanks to all of you lovely people. <3

This is a semi-custom shaggy teke!
The winner will be able to pick the base color.
Write a story about this guy and his interactions with other tekes and teke owners. Keep in mind, he's an odd duck with that mane.
I'll love you if you draw an uncolored sketch(headshot or fullbody) of him celebrating/partying. This is not required.

This will end on June 1st!

Story: I walk out the stable barn and and see two women staring at one of our newest tekes. The women shakes her head at the teke. "I mean look at him." She says to a women near to her "I can't believe they never clipped his mane, does he even have a name!" I women says angrilgy. The stallion rises his head up checking where the sound is from.
"I'd like to ask that you stop crowding him please. He's new and he's still getting used to h-" I butt in the conversation just to be interrupted by the women.
"What's you name?" The women asks.
"Penelope, ma'm" I reply.
"Why does this teke had it's mane?" The women with a hint of angry in tone. I guess she doesn't think I heard there conversation.
"There owner requested if they brought them here we couldn't clip there mane." I say to the women.
"Why? It's sigh of neglect of do so." The another women says.
"Sorry but I don't make the rules around here." I reply, the poor teke we were agreeing over is in the galloping around the field obviously spooked at all the loud noise around the barn. He wasn't used to all of this noise and women on top of the newly formed crowd wasn't helping it. "I'll see what I can do..." I lie to the women knowing that we weren't going to change his mane. I walk over to the field picking up his halter and lead rope. The gates creeks open and I sneak into the pen to try to catch the frightened stallion. I never really had a good look at the horse being how new he is. He didn't look neglected, in fact he looked quite the opposite. I can't help but wonder why he has his mane as well. He galloped around the pen with ease. "Come here boy" I say to the stallion, hesitantly the stallion gallops over stopping short a foot away from me. He lowers his head to sniff me and I easy I'm able to put his halter on. A minute later I

Story:
"You know, he doesn't look half bad with that... That fluff," A young woman commented to the stallion's handler, her green eyes locked on the handsome beast. This birthday get-together with all these rare and different Tekes was absolutely stunning, yet the loud noise and commotion near the more rare and, let's be honest, more eye catching Tekes was something this owner did not particularly enjoy. She had a fairly simple mare, nothing too special, which she absolutely loved. Conversation with other, more respected owners was something difficult for her to like. They all had plenty of Tekes, and talking about Aryll seemed to... Embarrass the young owner. But here, there were barely any people and they all had their eyes on all the other gorgeous creatures.
She stepped closer to the stall, trying to get a better look at the animal.
"You best be careful," the handler chuckled as the stallion's head nearly missed hers. "He is a little fiesty."
"Fiesty indeed," she laughed. "He just tried to headbutt me!"
"Aye. He's just playful, but he doesn't know his own power."
"Aryll would have a fun time with him," she said with a smile. "Does he have an owner?" She turned to the handler, just in time for the stallion to miss her head again.
"No. He's one of the Tekes brought here to try and find a buyer. I'd think the mane would give it away."
"Really? It's a little bit of hair. It's not going to kill him," she replied almost angrily.
"Well, you know how it is. Roached manes. This guy throws a fit if anyone goes near him with the clippers. It doesn't help that he's huge."
"Poor guy. It's almost the end of the celebration and nobody's been interested in him?"
"Not really. Why do you think we're in the back area?" He laughed weakly.
"Well, I'm interested in him. How much?"
"You're actually interested in this goliath?"

"Yes."

Name: TBA (for short, so the story fits his barn name will be 'Finn' )
Gender: Stallion

Story:
Finn hadn't met the other Tekes yet. He had been told there were three stallions and a mare and damn he was nervous meeting them. Why you may ask? Finn had a mane. Not a very big one but he had more than the others. He was too scared of the clippers to have the mane off. He panicked when they came near him. The odd stallion was led by a stable hand out of the horse box and into the barn. They reached the door and he suddenly heard a female voice.
"Shut up guys, the new kid is here!" said the feminine voice.
"Apparently he has a mane!" said a palomino in a matter-of-factly way.
"Really?" said another who was out of sight. Excited mutters broke out in the barn. Finn had been stood outside for a bit while the handler talked to the owner about where to stable him. Finally, the stallion was brought in. Four curious faces stared out from over the door. Ears pricked and eight intelligent eyes scanned him. He stopped and cowered a little.
"He does have a mane!" A chestnut tovero stallion said mockingly to another golden stallion. Finn flattened his ears. He knew his mane would be made fun of.
"Don't be rude, he's terrified," Said the bay mare, rolling her bright eyes "Ignore them," she said turning to Finn "By the way my name is Charlotte, the chestnut tovero is Oceanic, Golden palomino is Chrome and the other palomino is Soul."
Finn relaxed a bit and looked at the other Tekes.
"And you are...???" Said the tovero, Oceanic, rudely. Finn narrowed his eyes at him and said through gritted jaws "Finn, I am Finn." The stablehand sighed and patted Finn's neck making him jump, then he was lead to a stable by Soul and Chrome. Oceanic snorted, laughing at Finn's reaction to the pat. The maned teke walked to the back off his stall with his head low. Soul, the palomino stallion looked over his stable and craned his neck so he could see Finn.
"Don't worry about him." He said to Finn. "He's just confused about your mane, it's unusual you see?"
"I guess." Finn said sulkily.
"Why've you still got it?" asked the darker palomino, Chrome. Finn turned away from him, he wasn't about to let his most embarrassing secret out, was he?!
"Lay off of him!" Said Charlotte. Finn looked up and saw her opposite to him. His eyes shone with gratitude. He really likes this mare. Their eyes met and she flicked her ears and her eyes sparkled. Maybe this wasn't going to be bad at all.

Story:
The stallion struted around the paddock showing off his small lock of mane. The other Tekes would snort at him or snap at the 'strange' fur when he got close enough. He had actually turned it into a game, one which annoyed the others to no end, and amused him to pure bliss.

The owners of the other Tekes soon took note in this. Sometimes they would be amused by it and other times they would be just as annoyed at him for putting their Teke's into such a foul mood. Those that would try to scold him or get him to stop he would ignore or he would attempt to steal their hats from. Those that found enjoyment in his antics he would nuzzle and be nothing more than a loveable lug.
