What is a Makoatl?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.

Where do they come from?

Ani was created from the excess energy in the clash when the world had begun. He was violent and destructive, mutilating and destroying everything in sight. Soon Leo had quelled the beast and set him as a guard to the gates of heaven, helping lead the souls passed over to their home. Soon enough, as more and more spirits crowded they ostracized the guardian for how different he looked in comparison to them. It wasn't long before the taunting had re-ignited the destructive flame which devoured the soul that Leo had been kind enough to give him. He fell from the gates of heaven, and down to earth where he became hell incarnate within a flesh body.

After ten years of sheer destruction of the planet and it's creatures, he strode into the ocean leaving large wakes in his path. It took him several weeks but he had disrupted the ocean enough to flood the beaches from close to far far away. He found himself in the deepest trench in the entire world and fell into a deep coma like slumber. The remnant of his fire powers, destructive will, and strong power remained. As time passed and healed the wounds of the scorched surface world, the pressure of the depths formed a crust over Ani's physical body in the ocean. This wasn't enough to stop his fire powers from surfacing, as through the crust an active volcano was created, rupturing every 50 years from a week to a month at a time, leaving massive landforms in his wake.

In the current world, darkness encroaches in the distance. Hatred and violence are always present, and the dark feelings emanate far and wide across the land. Ani has been feeding on the ever growing darkness within the hearts of people throughout his slumber, storing energy. Now he's re-awoken to the world in order to bring the nightmares of the people to life

There is nothing good about Anicetus. You won't find a single good quality within the large beast of a makoatl. He is evil incarnate. As he feeds on the displeasure and nasty feelings of makos and other beings he grows stronger. He is an abomination and disgusting to every mako. In the legends he appears in, Ani is described as psychotic and hateful, a creature who only lives in nightmares and lives to destroy everything that exists. There would be no shred of guilt in Ani's body if he were to annihilate every creature and living thing on the planet.

The words describing Ani are an understatement, but those who find themselves meeting him don't live to tell the tale. He's cunning and finds a way to trick others into disturbing his slumber so that he may wake and cause enough damage to level the largest city in the world. He is unstoppable and inhumane, leaving only scattered bones and scorched earth in his wake.

Overall, Ani is more brute strength than intelligence. Although he does find a way to command the darkness within himself to conjure up many tricks, he is also easily tricked. The rage inside of him from being tricked though will leave the prankster the victim in the end.
