Deer Name:
Claire Paxton
The name "Claire" in many backgrounds signifies Clarity
Personality:
//Arrogant\\
Claire acts like she's better than everyone, even though she knows she's not most of the time.
//Sensitive\\
Behind her front of rudeness and faux apathy, she takes insults to heart. However, she's certainly not the type to go home and cry about it, and she's more likely to lash back out at whoever hurt her.
//Entitled\\
"I want it and I want it right now," can pretty much sum up Claire's feelings often enough.
//Desperate\\
Claire craves attention as well as worldly possessions. She could easily be described as greedy instead, but she has a certain literal need for things, and not as much want.
1 Extra:
A teenaged deer walks down the sidewalk, appearing to be looking for someone. After another 10 minutes or so, she resigns to sitting on the curb of the sidewalk. Her hair blows to the side in the slight autumn breeze. Frustrated, she puts it back in place before angrily getting up again to kick a rock down the road.
She swears under her breath, getting into her car and speeding down the road. Abandoned by her so called "friends" again. What did she care, anyway? Oh, who was she kidding, she certainly didn't want to lose these new friends, but she'd probably already lost them.
As soon as she gets home, she runs into her room, dumping her treasured jar of glitter all over the floor. "Where are you, you dirty rat," she yells, angry at the new mess of sparkly dust. She spits at the pile, and at last, it materializes into a scrappy mouselike beast about the size of a chihuahua, who shakes himself and scurries up to Claire's bed.
"What's up sweetheart," he says in his usual taunting tone.
"You know exactly what's up," Claire replies gruffly, "What else have I ever called you here for?"
Rolling his eyes, Ronald the glittery mouse hops off the bed again, and on to Claire's back. "Onward, faithful steed!" he says overly enthusiastically. The deer obeys begrudgingly, and the pair set off across Claire's large lawn and into the "forest," which is more like a small patch of trees.
"Hang on a second," Ron says, vanishing into the ground.
"See you soon," the quadruped replies, going home. She knows that a year will feel like just a moment where he's gone. In her last life, she waited nearly 13 years for him to fetch her token. She'd never tell him how long he really takes though, fearing that he'd get mad at her and never return, or take even longer.
//Four years in the future//
A large mouselike rodent crawls out of the ground in an oddly graceful way, fur colored with tribal symbols written in chalk. His family is rather odd, thinking that they can stop him from visiting the overworld through some kind of "cleansing". They've got another thing coming, their attempts almost making him laugh. He brushes off the chalk off, scampering towards the house of an old friend.
She's not home, he realizes sadly. He takes a note and leaves it under her token before nestling himself in his friendly jar and disintegrating into glittery powder again.
"Hello! I seem to have missed you, but here you are, it's as shiny as ever."
Resting on the note lays a staff of pure gold, encrusted with jewels found on various planets, in various past lives and forms. She'll add the next gem when she returns, ensuring a safe journey through the middleworld to her next lifetime, but first, she'll have to fetch a golden crown for an old friend, named Ron, so he can do the same.
