Postby teresa8oats » Mon Mar 02, 2015 10:10 am

Soooo... I know that my GA period ended yesterday, and I did finish this girl yesterday, but I had to send it over to dia before I posted it, and she responded today!! I actually started her on my birthday... but I never really worked on her again till yesterday. Basically she is a late birthday adopt to show you guys how much I appreciate you! This is my official last teke as a GA.

For this gal, it is an impress me contest! ANY extras are allowed <33 will end March 8th!
Thanks guys for being so awesome!!

Domestic? Yes, a showjumper ridden by Aria Brennan

Personality: Fable is a young, shy mare. She's always been that way. If she were a wild horse, she would be one of the 'play it safe' types. She is reliable, but doesn't like to interact with any other horses. She rarely spooks, and if she does, she's really scared. She can be very sensitive though, and a wrong move from her handler could break all trust. Many people mistake her for being picky and fussy, but she's not. Once you get to know her, she is willing and puts her trust in her handlers. Unless it is broken - if it is, the relationship between handler and horse will be ruined. Fable is never very spooky or fresh, but she can get antsy if not exercised, as she likes to give her owner the best performance every time, and show them what she's got. She never boasts, but is silently proud of her success. Never the less, some horses don't like her, as she is more successful. They are often jealous and excluding, but Fable has grown to not let those horses get to her, and to rely on humans for bond and love.

      Art: 1. Jumping
      2. Headshot
Story: Aria nudged Ink into a trot sweat already pouring down her brow, her hands clammy and tense. Ink hopped around a bit, sensing her nerves. Aria shortened her reins a bit, asking Ink to canter. He tipped onto the forehand, throwing a buck into his canter. Aria jolted, pressing her legs into his sides making him extend into an enthusiastic working canter. She relaxed slightly, turning him towards one of the cross rails, flying over it easily. She continued to jump, loosening up each time. She went to face the combination, collecting Ink slightly as he stopped for a fraction of a second in front of the first jump. Aria flew forward, over correcting herself as she gave Ink a bossy kick in the sides. Ink sprung forward over the jump, Aria flying out of the saddle and landing roughly back in it as Ink landed. He twisted his body, trying to run out of the second jump. It made Aria lose her balance again. Ink lost his bearings, his feet sliding out from underneath him as he landed on his side, crushing Aria who had landed on the grainy sand only seconds later.

      3 months later
Aria put two fingers in her mouth, whistling loudly as she opened the paddock gate. A familiar face came running over. Aria laughed as Ink stuck his nose in her face, nudging her for treats. 'You've had a pretty long break, huh?' Aria laughed as she slipped a halter over his head. 'Such a long time without any treats.' She led the headstrong horse into a stall, bracing her back as she fought with him as he took a snatch at his breakfast in his bin. She took his halter off, leaving him to eat as she got in her car.

Aria carefully seated herself on one of the cold metal benches surrounding the round arena. Horses ran through it, paddles raising as bidders fought for the final say. She browsed through the catalogue, seeing a teke mare she found interesting. She was an abandoned horse, spending the past few months at a rescue farm being fed up. Apparently she was well educated. Aria waited until the mare came out into the ring. She was quite placid but had that little bit of shine, floating airily around the ring. She had a well set body and calm eyes, just what Aria needed to gain confidence in her riding again. Paddles flew as Aria fought furiously for the mare, no price would be too high.

      Two weeks later
Aria stroked Fable softly, her newly named teke. She had settled in very well, and Aria chose this day to ride her for the first time. She carefully groomed her until she glistened, thinning her tail and oiling her hooves. She cut a piece of pink string, tying it around her neck and threading on beads. Eight of them to be exact, meaning fortune and happiness. She tied the bow, make sure it would not unravel. She then got out the clippers, looking over the teke's beautiful mane. She couldn't possibly shave it all off! Aria started from the bottom, stopping as she got closer to the poll. She left it at that - something to hold on to when it came around to jumping. Next was the saddle and bridle, no issues or complaints from Fable - she was ready to ride.

Aria thought she was nervous, but she had never been more excited. A pang of fear jolted her as she swung in the saddle, hearing Ink whinny loudly from the barn. Aria shook him off, starting off at a walk at the rail. The more she rode Fable, the bigger her smile got. Within days she was jumping, Fable trying her hardest to please her by clearing ever jump in sight. It didn't take long for Aria to realize that Fable was worth a lot more than a cross-rail confidence builder..

      Competition Day
Fable self-loaded herself into the trailer, swishing her neatly cleaned tail as Aria tied her to a ring in the trailer, loading all her show gear into the trailer. Just as she was going to close the trailer, she felt her body shiver again as Ink whinnied shrill and loud. She turned to stare at the horse closely, stepping over to grab his halter. What was she doing? Could she? She slipped the halter over his head and lead him up onto the trailer. 'Both of you better be bringing home trophies for me today!' she yelled to both of them as she closed up the trailer, driving down the windy driveway.

Poem:
God made a beatous garden
With lovely flowers strown,
But one straight, narrow pathway
That was not overgrown.
And to this beauteous garden
He brought mankind to live,
And said: 'To you, my children,
These lovely flowers I give.
Prune ye my vines and fig trees,
With care my flowerets tend,
But keep the pathway open
Your home is at the end.'

Then came another master,
Who did not love mankind,
And planted on the pathway
Gold flowers for them to find.
And mankind saw the bright flowers,
That, glitt'ring in the sun,
Quite hid the thorns of av'rice
That poison blood and bone;
And far off many wandered,
And when life's night came on,
They still were seeking gold flowers,
Lost, helpless and alone.

O, cease to heed the glamour
That blinds your foolish eyes,
Look upward to the glitter
Of stars in God's clear skies.
Their ways are pure and harmless
And will not lead astray,
Bid aid your erring footsteps
To keep the narrow way.
And when the sun shines brightly
Tend flowers that God has given
And keep the pathway open
That leads you on to heaven.

Owner: ~Silverpelt
Name: Podarge
Name meaning: Fleet footed also a type of bird
Nickname: Pa
Gender: Mare
Age: 8 years
Height: 16.0 hands
Personality: Podarge has a quite the complex personality. She is wild horse in every way; fast, brave and courageous. She can put a wild horse to shame. She's stubborn and opinionated she doesn't change with view on other thing every. She is also very altheic, she loves to run and race other horses. She can be cold and stern but, under her that is caring horse. She's also high energy and lively. Some how all of her personality works together in harmony to create her.
History: Podarge spent the first 6 years of her life at a ranch that kept the horses in herd much like in the wild. Due to that she has quite the wild side. After her 6th year there the farm with out of business sending her to adoption center where Podarge went to foster home taking to break her to ride. For some reason or another she was spent back several times. Every time she was she seems to gain a new trait or show a new trait. At the end of fostering Podarge which for a stubborn wild horse to a heart of gold horse. That goes up to the part where we adopted her.
Why her mane is only half roached: See this goes back to whole "wild" stubborn thing Podarge has. Well, that has a lot to do with it. So you guessed it- Story time! We brought in Podarge to clip her mane. She was fine with it at first but then half away through she decided that she'd had enough. So Podarge decided to show her wild side and bust out of her halter, running off. We tried to cut it agian but she refused and run off again. After around a hour of this we gave up. We ended up keeping her mane like that it seems to fit her personalty well.
Bead/String reasoning: The many different colored bead represent her colorful personality. She has quite the complex personality, all of her traits match a bead.
-Red: This red stand for her liveliness and flashiness like an actress walking down the red carpet.
-Orange: Orange stand for her bravery and courage. For me courage makes me think of the color orange.
-Yellow: The yellow stand for her heart of gold, she generally tries to do what's right and if she does some thing wrong she tries to make up for it.
-Green: Green is for her agility and speed as green is the color of traffic light that allows you to go. Podarge nearly always is in the 'go' mode. She loves to be fast and race others.
-Blue: Blue stand for the times of her coldness. It also stand for her trust her others. They go together because after Podarge feels she can trust you the coldness fades.
-Purple: The purple stand for her wild side. You may wonder why I picked purple for her wild side that is because most wild horses are seen as majesty and royal being. Purple is a color thought of with royalty thus, I picked it for her wild side.
-Pink: The caring stands for her caring side. As pink is color associated with love.
-Red: The last red one shows her irritable and stubborn side. It almost serves a warning for those to respect her. She may be a good hearted horse. But it's like showing red to a bull, don't mess with her if you don't want the punishment.
Lastly in the string with is a pink color. The string is like the peaceful harmony between all of her traits.
Story: {Podarge's PoV} I trotted away as soon as they removed my halter. Another place I wonder how long I will be here this time. I guess i should just make best of this right now. I look out in the field and try to find other horses. My eye catchs a small group of tekes. Naturally a direct myself toward the gang.
