What is a Sima?

Simas are cat/wolf creatures basically. Their paws resemble a wolves while their body structure could resemble a cat. Simas are also known as 'Sword Mammels'. This name comes from their tail. The tail is the most important part of a Sima's body. They resemble a sword most of all. They are thick and fluffy at the base and when the go down the tail, it gets thinner then widens into two tail guards like the guards on a sword. The jewel acts like the blade.

The jewel of a Sima comes in various shapes, sizes and colors, in which they make a Sima unique. Their eyes are always the same color as he jewels unless they have a special condition. Simas have a furry body, their mane around the neck the most furry of all. Even their ears are fuzzy. Baby Simas are more so however, with furry lips, poofier manes and slightly larger ears than what their heads would allow.

Simas are omnivores, meaning they could eat anything from fruit to the meat of a rabbit and even to things like candy or cake. Their teeth are sharp in the front with molars in the back to chew with. All Simas live or come from tropical places. Most are house Simas though and are transferred to other locations where they live with humans. In the wild they are usually in packs of ten. They are social creatures so that's good. Some Simas mate for life, while others like temporary mates.

The jewels of Simas glow at the night, illuminating the darkness when they want. Some jewel colors however cause darkness while others cause more interesting powers.

A Sima has two types of horns that are found in the wild. They are uncommon though to find a lot with them. There are long ones and short ones. Babies don't know which they got until they grow up.

Also excuse my ugly cover for this, I had the sima designed on the last version of the adoptable and I didn't have my tablet available... I'm quite terrible at drawing with the track pad T-T

I never really knew my mother.
I get glimpses at times, a fleeting smile, a warm embrace.
A milky smooth voice, often speaking soothing words or singing songs.
People tend to pity me when they learn I never met my mother. I don't
understand them, I guess it's because I never had the feeling of a mother
I hate the pitying glances and looks they gave me.

I have one thing to remind me of my mother, my scarf.
Although its edges have frayed, it still hold the same effect as
to the limits of my memory of owning it. It makes me feel safe, covered,
as if my body and mind are secure and invulnerable to the dangers of
the world I live in. It's the only thing I've kept from my parents, and I
wonder sometimes whether that's for their memory, or for myself.

We used to move around a lot.
It was always me and my father, going wherever the road took us.
The people we met called my father a jack of all trades,
he did odd jobs around the towns we visited, scrounging up enough
money for just another day. I guess one day, he just couldn't
tough it out anymore.

He went down suddenly.
But he went out kicking fighting as he always did.
They spoke complicated words and very often I heard apologizing.
They said it had been pneumonia and it had been too late.
For a while I felt nothing but numb,
I don't think I ever got rid of that numbness.

I was terrified for the first few months.
It was a new environment, one that in all our travels
I'd never encountered. So many children of all ages and origins.
Eventually, although it took days, months, and a few years,
I realized that, this was home.

I met him during my time at the orphanage.
His green eyes were warm and welcoming, assuring me no harm.
He laughed at the way we both had scarves, and for some reason,
I felt safe with him, able to share secrets I had held so close to my heart.
Secrets that were wounds that had scabbed up and gotten infected.
Although he had come to heal the problems of my mind, as a man of medicine,
he became something much, much more meaningful to myself.
He was my first best friend.

I loved caring for the children there.
They were all so innocent, with wide eyes and open minds.
How sad I felt when I realized that they may become as cold as I am one day.
That's what hurt the most when I left to pursue my studies.
Some day I'd repay the people who'd been so kind to me,
I'd do the same thing for others as they did for me.

It took much time but it came true.
Previously a church, I'd saved for years to purchase it.
It was my turn to take reigns, to run my own sanctuary for
children without a home, just as I had my sanctuary before.
There was still much work to be done.

He joined me soon after I had begun.
Offering support and assistance, he seemed just as driven as I was.
He had the same determination in his green eyes as I had in mine.
I let him in, as I had years before. Together, I was sure,
we'd be able to do this.

To this day I do not forget.
I do not forget the lessons I've learned, whether they changed
me for better or the worse. I do not forget why I chose to wake
every morning to the happy shrills of children, to get tangled up
in the limbs of those without a home of their own. I do not forget why
I chose to see those eyes flutter with pure joy as they find that,
they do have a home.
