Brief History: Anabiel had a simplistic life. She was born on a small, lovely farm. She was well-loved and taken care of. She began training for Hunt Seat at an early age. She entered competitions and did rather well in most of them. After a while, just shy of four years old, Anabiel's owner fell into debt. It was small, but as the economy did worse and worse, the debt kept growing. It was awful. Her owner struggled with the bills. Anabiel's owner was forced to work more and more hours. Finally, he just didn't have enough time and money to keep the horses. He did the right thing and decided to sell the horses and the farm to get back on his feet. A couple of horses were sold to the neighbors. Anabiel, rather special to the man, was sent to a place to stay until a proper, dedicated owner was found, where she would be well-cared for until the time came - CWHR.
Story: I am out in my pasture one day and I spot a trailer rolling into the drive. I have been at Cottonwood for a few months now, and I fit in well. There are so many horses to make friends with. I am curious and stick my head over the fence to get a better look. The trailer holds multiple horses, and my eyes light up. I hope at least one will join me in my pasture. Recently, one of my buddies was adopted and left the pasture. I can hardly wait to meet the new arrivals. I stick my nose up and neigh out a loud greeting; the horses around me do the same.

Sure enough, a horse is placed in our field. As soon as I trot over, they hunch away. I scoot closer and let out a greeting. They attempt to bite me. I introduce myself, and they clearly want me to go away. But I don't give up. The mare nips me, and I stumble backwards. I haven't been bitten or nipped in forever. But that's okay. I leave her alone.

Couple hours later, the mare is grazing nearby, and seems to have calmed down. I take light steps, trying to not seem agressive. She jerks her head up and stares at me. I still get closer to her. The mare relaxes slightly. I attempt to motion that it is okay and safe. She shakes her head slightly. I put my head down and graze. Not yet, I think. Not yet.

It is evening now. Finally, I neigh excitedly to her. She stops and looks at me, softer. I motion to the ice brought by the rain and cold. I run over to it, and skid across happily. I go back to her. I smile joyously and try to get her to do it. She backs off. I trot around to her back, and nudge her. I can tell she is curious. I canter, and she follows. Side by side, we fly to the ice and slide across it. The mare is wobbly at first, but after the first few times, she appears happy. I see her smile and her eyes like up. That's all I needed.

The next day I look for her. The mare never comes to the pasture. She never comes back. I am sad, and wish she were here. I kick chunks of ice about. I never even got a name. I just hope she remembers me. I finally just sit back, and wait for the next new arrival.
Personality: Anabiel is open minded and quite the free spirit. She will have nothing to do with bigotry and cruedness. The mare loves all creatures and is perfectly happy out in the pasture surrounded by friends. She is extremely intelligent, and has been known to break out of her stall by opening the doors. Anabiel dislikes when people to not make educated choices. She attempts to impact everyone's life in a good way.
Anabiel tries to be cheerful to everyone she meets. One way or another, you will crack a smile when with her. The mare radiates kindness. She has a big heart. Anabiel does not yell or snap, or be assertive or bossy. She is a voice of reason. However, you will find she is extremely protective. You cannot dare hurt her friends, or you can be sure she'll be there, snapping at you. Everyone loves Anabiel, because she loves everyone.
The mare can be annoying. She is bubbly and talkative. It is nice, sometimes, but it does get on some horse's nerves. If someone snaps at her, she never appears mad or hurt. Anabiel just smiles and leaves them alone. You can just see the gentle soul and youth in her eyes. The mare just loves life, and it shows. Anabiel is nurturing and overall caring. You don't find many horses like her.
