Why?: Sonia didn't ask to be a lead mare. She was simply chosen.
In a time when humans have captured many DCHs, she found herself at a large, simplistic farm. She didn't mind, actually. Humans would feed and care for her, as well as provide her with training and give her something to focus on.
However, the human that owns her believes in keeping his horses as "wild" as possible when they are not being trained. All the horses are kept in a massive paddock, and are left to sort ranks out by themselves. Sonia was the second to arrive at the human's farm, alone with about five other horses. The first horse at the farm was named King. And King he believed himself to be. He was rude, snappy and abusive, ordering the new horses around. Sonia was the first to stand up to him, refusing to obey King's orders, and was automatically respected for that. With King dethroned, the horses looked for an alpha to lead them, and Sonia was chosen.

Personality: Sonia is very fair and simplistic. She believes in justice for all, as well as freedom and tolerance. She respects all members of her herd, and doesn't order anyone around. Ever.
However, Sonia makes a very good lead mare. She has amazing instincts, and is kind to everyone, making them very willing to follow her. She is very valiant, and will always put her herd before herself.
Her only personality flaw would be gossiping. As Sonia doesn't really see herself as "above" the members of her herd, she often gossips with the other mares.

Why?: Jinx is known the have bad luck following him everywhere. He isn't exactly the best fighter or the fastest runner, yet he still likes company. Since he couldn't get mares by himself, he just went to join a herd where he can have company at least
