A Search For a Fallen Star

To try to find a fallen star
Is easier than it sounds.
It lies above the waving grass
Flattened by springboks' bounds.

Should one seek a fallen star,
They'll find it 'neath the sky.
Where falcons hunt and vultures soar,
Waiting for you to die.

If you hunt for a fallen star,
Search by the riverbeds.
While crocodiles bask in the midday heat
The fallen star there treads.

After all the seeking, the searching here and there,
The answer may be right before your eyes.
For I have ventured everywhere.
The fallen star is I.
