Chrysaora Basilisks #24 | Regular Adopt

Postby crumpled wings » Wed Dec 31, 2014 2:44 am

General Info

Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

I'll be doing a "12 Days of Xmas" Chrysaora Adoption Advent. As it sounds, I'll be making 12 pre-designed Chrysaora all wrapped and ready to go to a new home. Each Chrysaora will come out one a day, starting on the 25th. Each will have a short contest (no more than a few sentences) and a 24hr competition. There will be no extensions of extras allowed, and you're only allowed to win once, so choose wisely. If you win a Chrysaora and decide you don't like it, you may gift it to another competitor in the competition with my approval, but you will not be allowed to win another. The only catch is that you won't see your chrysaora until after you win it, so if you're ok with surprises then this is the event for you.

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...

For this Chrysaora, tell what their horror film/book/movie is and why

Be creative, yet realistic!

Owner: Queen Chrysalis
Name: [can wait]
Gender: Mare
Favorite/Why?: Horror films have no business with this mare. Humans being stupid and moving into houses built on ancient burial grounds or horribly haunted and what not is only entertaining for so long. She does not understand the whole point of such things. Therefore she has no favorite as they are all far too over the top with their overused plotlines trying to be terribly unique special snowflakes.
Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.

Name: I'd like to wait please c: But to make the "Favourite" section easier to read, I will temporarily call him "Chry" (Chrysaora) Oyster
Gender: Stallion
Favorite/Why?: Oyster's favourite movie has to be Saw. Saw is a horror movie in which a mystery figure captures victims and always, hidden behind a television screen, says his classic phrase; I want to play a game. Torture begins once he's explained the way the gruesome "game" works. Considering how mental the movie series is, you'd think Oyster is just a little bit psycho. But the thing is, everyone's a little crazy, and Oster, just like any other sane creature, craves a taste of unbearably despicable events. He, of course, would never mimic the actions done in Saw. However, he likes to quench his thirst and be a little crazy.
It is said that we dream things we sometimes don't want to admit. This is because our subconscious knows it can do the unspeakable in your mind, and has the freedom to imagine anything it wants. Since we are restricted in our right mind from these actions, our brains in sleep allow these terrible events to flow as they wish. It doesn't make us crazy.
Oyster enjoys watching horror films over books because, though he likes curling up with a breath-catching novel, movies provide that visual terror. In a book, nothing can pop up from the page. But in a movie, when darkness surrounds all and you lean closer to examine that bit of movement in the background, a freaky face leaps up and a scream envelopes your throat. Saw has intrigued him from nothing else than the imaginative games, and his amusement of how someone can think up such horribly designed entertainment.
Oyster loves horror over fantasy or romance because he loves that fear that surges through his blood, making his blood stream cold. When he's frozen and doesn't realize he's holding his breath, waiting, just waiting for the killer to strike. When his wide eyes can't find where the psychotic master is lurking. When the gleam of the television shines in his eyes. When his senses are at their peaks and any creak of the house settling around him, or the trees rustling, or even his own breath can spook him when he's in that 'mode'. The adrenalin given to him by just a film amazes him. He can be snuggled up on the couch and tense with every scene in Saw. It's like his mind separates from his body, but his body reacts with jerks and flinches while his mind races. Time has no value when he's glued to the story.
Oyster is always looking for a buddy to watch horror movies with but no one seems to step up to the plate. So if you've got a Chrysaora with a taste for terror, join him on the couch under a blanket and begin the first of many movies to hold your breath on.
