Chryaora Basilisks #21 | Regular Adopt

Postby crumpled wings » Sun Dec 28, 2014 5:16 am

General Info

Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

I'll be doing a "12 Days of Xmas" Chrysaora Adoption Advent. As it sounds, I'll be making 12 pre-designed Chrysaora all wrapped and ready to go to a new home. Each Chrysaora will come out one a day, starting on the 25th. Each will have a short contest (no more than a few sentences) and a 24hr competition. There will be no extensions of extras allowed, and you're only allowed to win once, so choose wisely. If you win a Chrysaora and decide you don't like it, you may gift it to another competitor in the competition with my approval, but you will not be allowed to win another. The only catch is that you won't see your chrysaora until after you win it, so if you're ok with surprises then this is the event for you.

On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me...

For this Chrysaora, tell me his/her first memory of spring.

Be creative, yet realistic!

Name: Hain
Gender: Male
First Morning:
Hain awoke to birds curing his eyes heavy from sleep. he yawned and looked around. he could feel something ticking his side! feeling annoyed he stood and shook the sleep off. he looked down to see grass. he lower his head and stared at the few stands that poked up from the earth. He whinnied happily waking everyone up, his mother snapped at him apparently it was too early in the morning for everyone but him. figures. Hain turned and bolted from where everyone slept he jumped around and slipped falling into a giant mud puddle it was cold but fun, he then stood and ran around jumping and tossing his head. he pawed at the ground and saw more grass sprouting, he made it his mission to set all the little hairs of grass free from their icey captors. its safe to say that he dragged his mother into the long fearsome mission.

Story:

Once upon a time there was a little colt named Hain, he loved winter and would run with his mother threw the forest tossing his head and jumping over mounds of snow. One day as thew where running threw the snow, he heard a strange sound in the distance he looked to his mother confused. she was on the other side of a large tree. His mother had suddenly grown frantic calling to him. He began to get scared Hain couldnt move. his mother pined her ears back and reared, he heard whimpers of pain as her hooves came down and hit something, wolves, for a moment she stopped and just looked at Hain. his mother let out a long slow breath, then in the blink of an eye she turned and ran. The barks and howls followed her, and Hain was left there hidden behind the tree all alone.

Hain waited for his mother, he waited and waited but, she never came back... slowly he came out from behind the big tree, the sun had set a long time ago, he was scared. he didn't want to call out for fear the wolves would come back. he stumbled threw the forest it was getting colder and with out the warmth of the herd he was scared he might turn to ice. he risked letting out a whinny... but he go no response. he leaned against a tree and tried to figure out where he was maybe he could find his way out of the forest and find the herd then they'd all go looking for his mother! Just then he heard a rustle in the bushed his ears perked up and he let out a happy whinny, his mother finally found him!!! As he turned he came upon a face which did not belong to his mother, it was a wolf! he broke into a full gallop trying to get again. the wolf kept up with easy he was toying with Hain. Then out of no where a large creature appeared beside him. it looked a bit like a deer except, it had strange jingling things around its neck and its horns here longer. the creature whipped around and stood its ground lowering its head and daring the wolf to go further. the wolf stopped in its tracks, and bared his teeth and took a step forward, just then Hain heard more jingling and seven more deer joined the one that stood beside him. he looked at the eight of them eyes wide. At the sight of the eight reindeer the wolf bolted, his tail between his legs. one of the deer turned to him and motioned him to follow the group but, Hain was still a bit scared what if the wolf came back with his pack!! The deer lowered his head and let the bells that hung from his neck slip off and fall around Hain's neck. Hain 's ears perked up and he hopped around making the bells chime! The deep once again motions for Hain to follow, this time he wasnt scared he had his bells to protect him!

After what felt like a long walk the group of eight reindeer and one foal made it to their destination, a small cabin and barn tucked away in the woods, the door to the cabin opened and a old man stepped out, Hain stepped back as the deer moved to the mans side. "Oh Comet did you loose you bells-" he cut himself of as soon as he saw Hain "Well hello there little fella, did you get lost?" he asked and Hain lowered his head sadly. "Ho ho ho" the old man chuckled, Hain looked back up at him "Dont worry little fella i have something that'll make you feel much better, how about you come over here" he said. Hain slowly walked over to him and sighed. even though he was happy to have met the reindeer and to have gotten to wear the special bells he still missed his mom. "Well Hain dont you look lovely with thous Christmas bells around your neck! You know who ever wears thous bells, that isn't one of my reindeer can make a wish. if the wish hard enough that is. Hain's eye widened at his words. he took a deep breath and shut his eyes and wished with all his might that his mother would come back.

As he wish he could hear the sound of more jingling. he slowly opened his eyes and a pair warm loving eyes met his gaze, mother! he jumped up and whinnied bouncing around, she tossed her head happily. "my my Hain it seems your wish came true" said Santa with a jolly "ho ho ho" Hain happily showed off the bells that hung around his neck. his mother then hugged him she was so happy to have found him, Hain then shivered from the cold. "oh we'd better get you both inside, its getting quite cold outside, why dont you both say in the barn for tonight? then head back to your heard in the morning?" both of them nodded their heads.

Soon mother and son where safe inside the warm barn, Hain and his mother returned the reindeers bells. he knew that he no longer needed them but he still felt a little sad handing them back. he then looked at his mother and nuzzled into her side he let out a long breath he was so tired and his eyes suddenly felt so heavy. he saw the outline of Santa in the doorway. "Merry Christmas brave little Hain" he said gently setting a ring of bells sized to fit a foal beside him. "ho ho ho" Hain couldnt keep his eyes open any longer he soon fell asleep. he could hear the sound of jingling bells in the distance and a very jolly old man calling to the world "Merry Christmas to all"

The End~~

Name: [can wait]
Gender: Mare
Story: Remembering the first spring was something that had never been easy for the mare. She had so many dear memories from her first spring as a foal, the wonderful smell of life brought by the newly blooming plants, the noisy rushing of the river that had filled up to the brim with the melted snow and ice, all the bright days spend running and tumbling around in the light of the day and so much more that filled her head with warmth just thinking of it. But she was just a foal, so young that there was not much of her memories that stayed clear in her head and there was also the fact that she didn't want to remember.

All those days that filled her with a warm feeling inside, all those days she spent tumbling around in the fresh green fields as long as the light of the sun would allow her to, she had never been alone. Yet today she was alone, standing alone along side the others of her herd. But even being surrounded by so many other individuals she couldn't feel more lonely and empty on the inside. She had lost a friend that day, a stallion her age, her very first and only childhood friend.

None of them had even come to the thought that the rain drenching the world they lived in during the night could have made the grass so slippery and even after they had slipped around and crashed down into the damp grass a couple of times they still didn't think of calling off their plans to play to wait this the grass had dried up. They just played on, unaware of the events that would come.

They had just been running a little too far off to the outskirts of the field towards the small drop-off that they used as a platform to jump off from when she slipped yet again and crashing into her friend bring him down with her. However, this time they didn't just crash down into the soft grass below their tiny hooves, this time they tipped over the edge of the drop-off and roughly tumbling down the quite steep drop. The drop was nothing that deep, it was just somewhere around their own height if they brought their heads up high. But she must had been a little unlucky with her landing since she later had found herself with quite a bad limp to her one front leg. But her luck was plentiful if she would compare it to her friend. He never recovered, he wasn't even able to get to his hooves again. He just lied there with smaller specks of red colouring the otherwise dull and brown ground where the grass didn't grow. His body had been broken, much like her soul had been shattered to pieces that day. Her leg still bothered her to this day, but it was not bad enough for her to not just be able to shrug it off. But it was still always there, reminding her of what she did, why she never wanted to remember even though she could never forget.

Well I had not planned for this ending... ehhh excuse the feels in this one...
