Unwrappable equids were created 2 years ago around Christmas time. You get told the base color at the beginning and this year there is a little twist to our traditional celebration. A section of the wrapping will be revealed on the 20-21st. The winner will be announced between Christmas day and January 10th; this is also when the equid will be completely unwrapped!

Story: There's a quiet noise coming from the trees, echoing through the woods like a blessing. Birds are Allegro's favorite part of the winter season. As the snows start to fall, the tiny winged creatures seem to gather in greater numbers, bringing their beauty to the mountains. The soft blanket of snow is covered in tiny footprints from the creatures the seem light as the air the fly in. The air is filled with their beautiful song, flowing from all directions. It is enchanting, the natural notes surrounding Allegro in wonder. Each year, it is the time she looks forward to most; the winter of the birds. There is nothing she loves more than walking through the forests, watching the birds flit through the trees and share their wild melody. They dance through the air like the wind, choreographed in flocks, their wings bending the currents in the air to their will as they dive in the breeze. Each day during this season, she likes the spend the mornings soon as the sun rises to the watch the sparrows and doves, the cardinals and finches. They are most active in the morning, and she stays until her duties in the herd pull her away. As long as she can though, Allegro walks through the forests, filled with the birds weaving their glorious melodies as they wait for the warmth of spring.

A crisp dawn, the fresh excitement in a mare, as she feels the blanketing white substance that rests under her feet and around her. Despite her age and the scenery she inhabits and the sub-zero temperatures she endures, this mare hasn't experienced the falling ivory flakes before and briskly gallops in a figure of eight fashion, whinnying to the sound of the snow crunching beneath her hooves. This was when she realised her true passionate love for the winter season... Snow!

Ever since she has loved winter, especially Christmas, because she believes it to be the most beautiful celebration of them all, (and it also gives her the excuse to eat more than she should!) Spending time around her friends, huddling for warmth and exchanging memories throughout the year. Her favorite hobby though is venturing out every morning to collect red twig dogwood, poinsettias, pinecones and white camellias. She then takes the beautiful red twig dogwood and gently intertwines the pieces together to form a head crown. Afterwards, she adds the pinecones delicately with tree sap and places the berries to the sap that she uses to glue to pinecones down. Finally, she weaves the stem of the poinsettias into the dogwood to finish her masterpiece off. Then on the special morning, she hands around her natural, mare-made crowns. All her hard work benefits from the happy smile of another equid. Making the flower crowns are her favorite hobby, but spreading cheer and spending time with loved ones are her favorite things about Christmas.

Story: Eira's favorite thing about the "winter season" is winter itself. Yes there are Christmas and other holidays this time of year, but she actually doesn't get excited over them. Winter is the most beautiful and some what peaceful season to her. She likes how she can see the puff's of her breath as they mix with the darkened clouded skies. How the chillness of the air makes what is left of the leaves crispy and in the mourning scattered with frost, that crunch when you walk over them. She loves how the water freezes creating beautiful hanging icicles that shimmer and glow when bits of the sun shines through its cloudy blanket. How little puddles crack when walked upon. But the best thing is the snow. Oh how she loves the snow; barren wasteland of brilliant white that glimmers and sparkles when untouched. How, when you walk across it, making delicate crunching noises. Many things she likes to do with snow like, building things out of it, playing in it, snow fights, and even eating it!

Story: Her favorite thing about Yule is that it's a time for release. She is able to drop everything and everything, let the burdens on her soul slip free and eclipse into the new year. She feels fresh and new, ready to take on a new challenge, another year of living, of dreaming. She finds the winter solstice calming, the fact that days will only get brighter from then on, that there is no need to fear the darkness or the unknown because the light will be there to guide her onward. She is able to drop her baggage and move on a cleansed equid, with no worries that other’s will find her flaws. When she starts over and releases everything she has always taken it to the most extreme level, forgetting all her problems and attachments to the earthly plane. She hopes that there will come a year when she doesn’t feel the need to start on a clean slate and is comfortable to hold onto the past year and bring some of it forward with her into her life. She wishes for a friend that sticks with her till the end, through everything she will indivertibly put them through, and still somehow be there with her when the longer days roll around again. She yearns for a year in which fear is not the ruling factor in her life and can set herself free, to let her soul take the flight it has yearned to do for years, so that sshe can feel the freedom she has so desperately been searching for.

Story: The snow was following peacefully outside, so quiet and peaceful as the young mare walked through the snow covered mountain ranges. She quickly trotted by, and on occasion caught a few snowflakes on her tongue just for the sake of doing so, after all what else was winter for if you couldn't have fun?
After a moment though of standing atop a ridge and looking down at the white meadows and fields that would be lush with color in a few months a strange noise hit her sensitive ears. Ring, ring, ring ting-a-ling. Her ears perked as she noticed a strange wooden object being pulled by two large heavily muscled horses in front and humans laughing from behind. 'What's so funny? It looks like it hurts having to pull that much weight around. She thought silently and snorted almost in disgust as she watched from a distance. Of course she then realized the horses looked to be having fun as well, prancing around with silver bells on the harnesses and reins, and that thought soon went away when she realized that after all they were having fun just like she had been moments before. It was Christmas and having fun and enjoying time with family and friends was all that truly meant the most.

Maddy closed her eyes and sighed. Three seasons had passed since she'd been here, and winter was on its way. She wasn't allowed to go out when the weather was too hot (which happened often in this part of the mountains) because her skin burnt easily and if she stayed out too long, she got horrid blisters. Curling up on the floor of her stall, Maddy closed her eyes and planned to sleep through yet another day. Her ears suddenly perked up at a noise by her stall. Someone was opening her door! Excitedly, she got up, shook off the straw, and greeted her rescuer. The teen girl giggled, put a horse blanket on her, tied little bells on her halter then lead her outside. Maddy was confused, she was never allowed to go out in the middle of the day! She stepped outside and stopped in confusion. The ground was white. The girl unclipped her halter and let her explore. Madeline dipped her hoof in the white stuff then drew it out, confused. It was cold and fluffy. She gathered her courage and trod carefully into it, almost tip-toeing. WHAM! Something cold struck her back and began to drip down her flanks. She turned and the girl had a ball of white in her right hand. Maddy lowered her head playfully and kicked snow at the girl. They played like this for hours and were wet, but happy. The wind whispered and brought flakes of white with and something else, something Maddy couldn't quite put her finger on. The girl spoke.
"There's something in the wind...can you feel it, Madeline?" Maddy felt it, it stirred her soul and left her feeling tingly. Freedom at last.
