Username: Snowy Realtree. Please call me Snowy c:

    Show name: Whiskey Rebel

    Call name: Eskalina

    Gender: Mare

    Age: 5 Years

    Height: 15.1hh

    Breed: Lusitano

    Discipline: Western - Western Pleasure

    Price: 500c

The stout lady handed me the reins to Eskalina, “Here you are,” I eagerly but collectedly took the reins in my hands. Slowly, I put the reins over the mare's head and mounted. I walked her in some slow circles to warm her up, followed by some half-passes at a walk, then some leg work. Eskalina gave a soft snort, telling me she was ready for her work. I gave a light click with my tounge and Eskalina eagerly stepped into a trot. She seemed to have a very nice, even trot, very smooth. I had been warned, however, the pretty gal could be very nervous, and I could immediately see this in the uneasy swishing of her tail and constant flicking of her ears. I squeezed her gently into a canter and she coolected like a dream, dropping her nose to her knees and arching her thick neck. I asked Eskalina to perform a few half-passes, and they weren't too bad, mind you, they could use some work. After that, I cantered her on both leads before asking for a lead change, which was sort of sloppy, but regardless, it was quite obvious Eskalina had made an effort. That was my final decision maker. I asked the mare for a walk and cooled her out. After I had dismounted, the lady smiled hopefully at me, “Well?” She seemed to be anxcious. I chuckled and smiled softly, “I would be more than happy to take her off your hands.”

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

Eskalina tried her best, but today just wasn't her day. After a couple hours of struggling through the same material, Hanna recognized that they weren't getting anywhere and decided they'd try again next week.

Eskalina was a darling for her owner, despite the fact that it was a rough day and the rain had started pouring by the time they got out to train. By the end of it, Eskalina was soaking wet and had earned +2 in training!
