Short Story: Rainy cantered around her pasture, whinnying softly. Pricking her ears, she hears someone softly calling her name. Turning around, she trots to the small human that was calling her and stood patiently. They looked at her, and smiled, for some reason. Were they going to give her a carrot or apple or some other treat? She hoped so, small humans often did! Instead, they knelt down and wrapped something around her leg, before standing up and smiling even wider. Pulling over their parents, they said with a smile missing a few teeth, "She's all ready for the holidays!"

Short Story: One evening, Diamond overheard the Christmas song "The Holly and The Ivy" playing in the barn and decided that she liked the song and that it would be nice to remember the song somehow. The next day, as she wandered her pasture, she found some ivy twining itself around a tree. She remembered the song she liked so well and pulled a piece of ivy from the tree. Now, what to do with it, she wondered. As she stood there, she decided that perhaps the ivy would look nice against her greyish coat. She tried hanging it over her neck, her back, between her ears, but the effect just wasn't right. Frustrated, she dropped the ivy and started to walk off. A passing breeze picked the ivy up and blew it against Diamond's leg, where it wrapped itself. Diamond glanced back at her leg and decided that while it was rather unorthodox, she liked it. Now, if she could just find a piece of holly.....
