Does This Voxxie Speak Japanese and/or English? Why? English. Even though her parents knew the language Japanese she was born and raised in and by American(s). She learned their culture after her parents died in a monsoon over in Japan. So During the Great Depression she hopped on a boat without paying and went to America. After outrunning the police she decided to sell newspapers as a "Newsie" for the "World Newspaper." Mr. Pulitzer the creator of the "World" raised the price, she joined the strike with Jack Kelly and David and gained the right to sell back papers to the people who sell them. Now she sells "papes" and has a nice home.
