hi guys!!
this kia is up for adoption!
What is a Kiamara?
A kiamara is a wolf/lion-like creature. They have long, fluffy manes on the top of their heads, running down between their shoulders. They all have spots on their bodies- a trait in which will never be bred out of their DNA. They also have feathers- every Kiamara is given feathers when they reach the age of 2 years old. Their diet consists of fruit as well as meat- they prey on similar creatures that wolves would. Kiamara can be very shy before they get to know you. Can you win a Kiamara's heart?
to try out, fill out the form below

for the feather/beads, you can write a brief story about how the kiamara got the items and/or what they mean to the kia. i'm not putting a word limit, just know that i am really lazy and if you write a billion paragraphs i'll probably end up skimming them lol
art and extras are welcome, but not required.
end date: saturday, november 22!!
hey i kinda quit cs hahahaha oops

Hello, my name is Smolder, also known as Ash. I am the proud owner of one Kiamara, and would love the possibility of owning this boy too!
His name is Neal. Neal James Baylock. If you ask, he'll speak quietly, in a slight, low tone of voice. He'll always introduce himself the same way; promptly stating his full given name upon being introduced. He has no nickname, he's simply Neal. Neal James Baylock.
In case you haven't figured it out by now, Neal is a male Kia
THE MEANING OF HIS ACCESSORIES
Neal wears the feathers and the violet-colored beads as a reminder of home. Though he is a traveler, and has been that way since he was old enough to live on his own, Neal gets homesick just like anyone else. Though a simple string of beads isn't the most perfect reminder of home, it's what makes him Neal. The simple item has become part of him. It has been with him on every adventure, every escapade from the house as a teenager, every journey marking his life as he knows it. No amount of happy photos or preserved memories could throw Neal into a happy remembrance of his life quite like the humble string of beads, and the unusual violet feathers
still a big wip

this form is finished, though heavy apologies for the lack of coding & art
username: i'm pep, but you may know me as bodt (previous username). i own one kiamara, keegan, and i'm very happy to be trying for this kiamara! i watched his creation over the stream, and i'm ecstatic i can bring my ideas to life with him.
name: conrad edwin; whilst he usually goes by conrad, some ignorantly call him connie out of spite
gender: male, identifying with masculine pronouns
age: twenty-three years of age
nationality: american, with roots from around britain.
personality: jaded, stoic, serious; he tends to be daydreaming a lot nevertheless
occupation: he is a gymnast, and very serious about it. his mother entered him into gymnastics at the age of three and he never gave up, and now that she has passed, he is trying even harder to reach the olympics. he is told he may reach that level soon.
significance of his feathers/beads:
it began with her anemia. day after day, he would come home to check up on his aging mother, with bruises underlining most of her skin beneath fluffy, beautiful chocolate fur. her anemia was serious, as she could hardly breathe on her own; conrad said he would take her to the doctor, but she refused every time with a stubborn, sassy remark. that was his mother for him right there. however, the disease in her blood worsened. her body began producing large amounts of red blood cells out of nowhere from her previously-deprived state, and polycythemia vera developed in her body, causing blood to clot and a very certain clot to produce the damage of her final day. connie returned to visit, only to see others clearing her house; they were dusting, and packing, and doing who knew what.
he managed to find a few bracelets of hers in her beloved collection of good luck bracelets she had always worn to her competitions when she was a young gymnast later that day. with tears streaming down his cheeks, he picked them up and held them close to his heart. he vowed to keep them safe. this part of his mother was never going to be let go. they were warm, but also very cold. and in that moment he missed her more than ever.
the funeral was uneventful but gentle. he could feel her lips against his cheek, like she did every day before he left for his own home; he saw her face in everything and he could hear her voice clearly in his head. it was long after everyone had left and he sat atop the freshly-dug grave, caressing her headstone and swiping off any tears that fell from his eyes onto the smooth stone. he fell asleep there that night, surrounded by the fragrances of flowers and he swore he could smell her perfume on the air.
the next day he woke with crusty, puffy red eyes. the smell of her perfume was more significant, and wedged in a bouquet of fresh white carnations - her favorite flower - was her feather. her greatest treasure, her largest, most precious purple feather. he held it close; pressed it to his face, and sobbed. "momma, mom, if you're here, i love you so so much. i'll never give up on my dream for you. forever and always, mom." he couldn't speak from that point, he only cried and cried until no tears were left.
how he became a gymnast: when he was around two years old, his mother had to bring him to her gymnastics practice. she was unable to find a babysitter, and because his father was who knew where and he lived solely with his mum, conrad was sat down by the bars and by the trampoline. he found himself becoming excited and squirmed off of his chair to jump on the trampoline and into the foam shapes pit, somehow doing a flip in the process with a terrified shriek. his mother had saw and before even going to help him out said to her friend: "he's going to be an olympian someday, my little connie." the anemia runs in the family, however, so this may threaten his career.
playlist:
- sedated : hozier
- a question isn't answered : temples
- clairvoyant : the story so far
- work song : hozier
- medicine : the 1975
- black beauty : lana del rey
relationships:
owari • enemy
xxxx owari makes conrad extremely uncomfortable, and he finds her quite obnoxious. she is very loud and is definitely not afraid to make some noise and is often invading personal space if she is aggravated or irritated by something; personal space is something connie prefers to keep and she pushes past those limits to make him crack a rare frown and try to nudge her away, still politely nevertheless.
wendy • best friend
xxxx wendy is a very beautiful kiamara, conrad will definitely admit. her laid-back personality fits hand-in-hand with his quieter, less energetic one, and they are often texting or chatting on the phone about random topics. she knows how to coax laughter out of him and he knows how to make her feel comfortable and relaxed if something had been unnerving her or something of the sort. they are very close, and often discuss their life issues with each other, wanting to push each other into positive moods.
matvey • neutral/friend
xxxx matvey has a very kind personality, which sometimes makes conrad doubt whether or not that kindness is real or if it's fake, as he has suspicion about for some odd reason. however, they have very in-depth conversations that makes connie enjoy matvey's calming company. matvey isn't clingy, nor overly attached and touchy, so he doesn't have to worry about the male leaning in for constant hugs or high fives or other things that definitely make conrad wish he were elsewhere.
kios • friend/possible crush
xxxx kios is one of the most fascinating and interesting kiamaras conrad has ever met, and he is completely and utterly intrigued by his starry-eyed friend. he could spend hours watching kios work on jewelry, as it sometimes reminds connie of his mother and her jewelry love and obsession, and he loves to go with kios on last-minute stargazing trips and bring an abundance of snacks for them to munch on while they observe the stars. alarmingly, conrad's feelings towards kios may exceed friendship just a bit.

kia name: Sullivan // aka Sulli
gender: Male
what the feathers/beads represent: Sulli has an affinity for books. A stranger would call it an obsession, but it is more of a lifestyle. Sulli inherited this from his grandmother. She always had her nose stuck into a book of adventure, romance, or mystery; often times all three. One day, Sulli was reading an old, worn, leather-bound he had found stuffed in the end of one of the shelves. The book was one he had never read before, nor even heard of. It didn't even have a title. As Sulli read on and on, he became more engrossed and simply adored the level of adventure and suspense. The characters fascinated him. As Sulli got toward the end, he was appalled to find an object tucked between the pages. A long, plush, purple feather. The peculiar thing was, it looked almost exactly like he imagined a side character's feather would look like. Bewildered, Sulli brought the book to his grandmother. When she saw it, she gave a humbled smile. Sulli's grandmother then explained that she herself had written the book. She had found the feather while walking out in the woods one day and was instantly inspired to write the novel. His grandmother then insisted on him keeping both the book and the feather. Sulli's grandmother then took off her own beads and said that she had found them at an antique shop the next day. Sullivan was practically radiating happiness. He had gained a book, and now his first feather. http://i62.tinypic.com/k1vyag.png 391E31 purp 2D2928 grey 363024 db 444035 mb 5A5142 lb

kia name: Daedalus
gender: Male
what the feathers/beads represent:
"Like two peas in a pod"
"Cut from the same cloth"
"Two halves of a hole"
Phrases which once described a friendship. A friendship between Daedalus and another boy named Icarus. Close like brothers, not many could argue that these phrases were inaccurate. Though long ago, he recalls that his once close friend was not a kia such as himself. The two were indeed as close as good be, often seen playing together and engaging in sports such as wrestling for fun. Daedalus had admired yet also feared the ambition, courage, and impulsiveness Icarus possessed, often watching as his friend would attempt things that Daedalus would never dream to do for fear of his own safety. Daedalus himself took an interest in inventing things once the two had entered their teen years. In his arsenal of creations was a huge variety of items, but his favorite thing he created would have to be a slick, stunning, and brown set of wings. He never had any intent to use the set of wings for any long flights but he had tested them close to the ground, gliding about a crowd.
