What is a Jewel Mane Dragon?
A Jewel Mane Dragon - often shortened to JMD, is a large dragon-like creature with extremely soft fur covering its entire body and special “jewels” located on both it’s head and tail. These jewels hold special powers, and grant each dragon abilities based on the color of the jewel. Many years ago, Jewel Mane Dragons were hunted for their pelts and jewels which were made into fine garments and luxury items. Around the turn of the century, the practice of hunting JMDs was outlawed. Since then most have taken to adopting Jewel Mane Dragons as companions.

You have no idea how much fun this was. It's so great to design JMD's again. x3
The lines are stunning. I especially love the large space for designing. The V.3 lines were great, but a tad bit to small.
I'm sure I'll do some complex designs in the future. ^^
But for now, as a starter, have this simple one.

The jewel color is green...and for a reason. JMD's were practically dead for some time.
Jewelies with a green jewel can create plants etc. As in creating new life.
JMD's are coming alive once again, so yeah. New life!

Also I numbered this JMD 4.01, as in JMD number 1 on the 4th lines.
I thought that numbering like this would make it a bit...cleaner.
Froggy, I hope this is alright. If you have a specific naming system in mind though, tell me and I'll change it. ^^

Leur is a very girly JMD, who never gets into fights. She tries to be a perfect Jmd, but always fails, causing her to become upset at whatever 'caused' her faulter. She loves to garden, and her favorite kind of garden is a Milkweed garden, because it atracts the Monarch Butterfly. She spends allmost all of her time gardening, and takes pride in her flowers.

Seichō is a very timid jmd that doesn't like to get much attention drawn to him. He's a bit of an introvert who tends to stumble over his words when he does speak, although it's rare that he openly talks. He loves the not-so-pretty plants like ferns, trees, and bushes rather than flowers.

Short Personality: Zoey has always been a shy creature, shyer still after strange events that led to her species becoming... strangely impossible to find for the last year or so. She is deeply afraid of poachers or other unsavory sorts taking up the sport of hunting JMDs again, but she remains optimistic that her kind will continue to survive, if not thrive. It takes a long time for anyone to earn her trust, and even then, she'll rarely speak. However, Zoey loves going to barren spaces-- especially in cities, where there are often empty, ugly lots left abandoned-- and using her magic to bring new life, often in the form of useful fruit or vegetable bearing plants.

Her name, Bhoodevi, originates within India; meaning mother earth.
Sometimes I like to call her Bhoo.


Bhoodevi is your typical caring soul. She's always around to help, both in the good times and in the bad times. She also has a very large amount of patience, able to wait around for someone for very long periods of time. Plus, every move she makes is with elegance. Bhoodevi is not stuck up in any way, and rather, is more humble than most. Despite her quiet ways, she is in no way shy. Bhoo is willingly open with others, to the point where she is talkative; in a good way. Sometimes, she does come off as a little too jovial, and can be a little naïve.
