And that is something I did not know. Wow this actually really shocking. What ever happened to the others? And cant they just breed them again?

Since they live wild on a tiny island in the Bahamas, it's been difficult for humans to monitor them. They faced hurricanes, mass slaughter, and poisoning, which decimated their numbers. The remaining ones were old, and passed away, and the others ran into problems. You can read more here, but it's very, very sad. They're trying to collect eggs from the last mare, and have found a suitable stallion, but the programme is so small, and with very little money, it's quite a struggle for the people to get anywhere.

I think I might start ordering/breeding Abacos here at Cottonwood to keep them remembered. They really are lovely horses!
