Karou is named for her similarities to the character Karou in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, and her costume consists of her first body and alias, named Madrigal, who is a Kirin Chimaera, or a combination of a human, gazelle, and bat. The staff/lantern is used to "glean" the souls from dead bodies, so that they can live on in another body. When they are transferred, "hamsas" appear on their hands, which look like human eyes and are believed to hold powers. The wishbone and bone necklaces are items worth by Karou, and her cowl and dress are designed specifically for the halloween dress-up. The wings are fake, attached via magnets in the dress, but were apart of Madrigal in the series. The horns are also fake and apart of Madrigal c:
