Rules for pre - competition:
You can begin now by posting your Pinna's name and claiming it. If you do not claim him / her by Tuesday, you will forfeit your slot.

If you'd like, you may "set the stage". Basically, tell me the setting in which you'll be training your Pinna. You may lay out the character that'll be training him (it could be you for example, but are you a kind, sweet trainer, or a rough, "we're-doing-this-my-way" trainer?) as well as anything else you'd like to add before getting started.

You'll be added to the drawing on Sunday. Not before, not after. You may draw additional objects on yours Pinna (clip, bandanna, collar) but you may not edit the main lines in anyway major way.

It may be less difficult then you think.
I am the same way IRL.
I will start by trying to get him used to a leash, learn the basic commands, and learn to be friendly to other humans and Pinnas.
I will be gentle but persistent, and will not give up until he has learned to tolerate.

Sunday 14th, 2014
Well, today's the day! The shelter volunteers brought my Pinna into the shelter, where I picked him up. I took him to my house. He raced off in the direction of my Pinna pack. Manachado, the alpha, was surprised at his presense. I caught the little prankster. Carried him out of the woods and into the training arena. This boy would need a collar! Well. I heard he didn't like collars. Well, this Pinna's gonna have a big surprise. I went to the store and got him a black leather collar. And a chain collar, just in case.

I groaned when I got back, finding a hole in the arena. I raced to the other side of the tunnel... or where I thought it was.
He ripped the collar out of my hand. Chewed it up, lickety split. And then he ate it. Nice going, Brightheart, nice going. I dragged the Pinna back into the arena. And clipped on the metal collar. 2nd mistake. He got it (Purposefully) caught on a hook in the wall, where I hang things. Had to take the collar off. "Sit, Desconcido!!" I said sternly. I pushed his rump to the ground. After, what, 50 tries? the Pinna finally got it. "Sit!" Desconcido, sit!" Desconcido sat without question. "Stay!" I growled. I walked to the other side of the arena. At least he stayed sitting down. "Desconcido, come!" He stood up. He walked towards me suspiciously. He veered off towards his collar. Ripped off of the hook on the wall, and went tearing through the arena. Well, I'll give it another go. Later.

Monday 15th

Well. I decided to take a break. He's still running around, tormenting the pack. Might as well go get him..
Brilliant idea! I could tuck shed Pinna fur under his collar so he wouldn't notice. I took out a spare training collar and slipped it on him when he wasn't looking, stuffing down the Pinna down. He didn't notice me. It will work. For now.

If I never have to teach another Pinna to come it'll be to soon. Desconcido likes to go his own way.
I'll have to start using the lunge line. I got out the line, clipped it on the leash, and put a pocket with air holes over his muzzle.
Just in case he decides he doesn't like it. "Sit, stay, Desconcido!" I walked to the other end of the arena, half a leash's length away.
"Come, Desconcido!" Desconcido cautiously walked towards me. Then he bolted to me, knocked me down and attacked.
With his toungue.

By the time Desconcido had learned to come, I was.... Well, as wet as a pool, so to speak. He seems to have a very eager tongue, if I do say so myself. Well, you'll see more of me later. G'bye for now!

Tuesday, Sep. 16th, 2014

Well, I should socialize him shouldn't I?
We worked on more of Sit, Stay, Come, Lie down, Drop it, and Down. I took him to meet the pack. Manachado, the alpha male, and Estrella, the alpha female, came to greet him. Narval, the beta female, and her mate Fundido, the beta male, followed close behind.
In the nursery, Chispa, Dorado, and Velluda were playing together, under the watchful eye of Inverieno. Arbol Perenne and his friend, Fuego had just come back from a patrol and were starting to eat a deer. Fundido was in his healers den, wondering where all of the scratched pads went. Desconcido apparently had gotten used to them when he was on a rampage. I let them act freely, and Desconcido was quite friendly, as was the pack.

Wednesday, Sept. 17th

Desconcido is going to learn some new tricks today! I am taking him on a walk. He follows very nicely, and it seems he's gotten used to the leash. "Heel!" I said when he tugged ahead. Of course, he doesn't know what Heel means, so he just kept tugging, knocking me on the ground. I tugged back on the leash and popped him next to my left said. "Heel!" I said sternly. Well, this time he didn't get ahead. In fact, he stayed where he was. I couldn't move him forwards. I couldn't move him backwards. Eventually I picked him up and tossed him into the pool.He swam back to the steps and raced to the training arena. And that, good people of America, is how you get Pinnas to move.

Thursday Sept. 18th
(I missed yesterday, had a lot of schoolwork)

Well, today I'm taking Desconcido to the park! I clipped his leash on and bring a ball with me. We walk for 5 minutes, and then we are at the park. We walk in. There are lots of other Pinnas! Desconcido doesn't know which way to go to say hello...
I take him to the nearest Pinna. "Hello!" The owner says. Desconcido gives me a look that seems to say "Can I please run around for hours and hours with that Pinna?" I unclip the leash and the 2 Pinnas race around the park. After about an hour, Desconcido comes padding back to me. I clip on the leash and we walk home


Friday, Sept 19th

Today Desconcido is going to learn "Roll over." He can already lie down, so I think it will be easy. "Lie down!" I say sternly. He drops onto his belly and looks at me. "What did I do wrong?" He seems to ask. I roll him over with my hand while 'leading his body' with the other hand (Which was full of squirrel meat.). After a while, Desconcido got the hang of it.
Not necessarily a good thing. When I took him out for a walk, he rolled in Pinna you-know-what. To top it off, he rolled in some mud. I led him to a small lake. He instantly went in. We swam for a while, and eventually the mud and poop came off of his coat. I lead him back to the arena and he curled into his bed.

Saturday, Sept 20th

Today I took Desconcido to the vet. We biked there, and Desconcido had fun running alongside me. When we got there, he cowered and started getting nervous about going inside, as if he knew something. I shoved him into the office, and sat in the waiting room with dogs, cats, and a few Pinnas. When Desconcido came out, he had had his shots and nails clipped. We walked home.

Sunday, Sept 21st

Desconcido and I went for a walk in the woods. He chased squirrels, rolled in dust, and ate bugs. We played fetch and hide and seek.

Monday, Sept 22nd

I decided to do another training session with Desconcido. "Sit! Stay!" i say as I walk to the other end of the ring. "Come!" I command as he walks towards me. "Heel!" We walk to the other side of the ring. "Lay down! Roll over!" Desconcido rolls onto his back, tongue lolling. He then races into the paddock and picks up a tulip from the garden. "Drop it!" I say sternly as he buries the flower.

Tuesday, Sept 23rd

Desconcido escaped. I chased him all through the forest, and when I finally caught him, I shut him in the crate. What a fiasco! I was bleeding, he was angry, the other Pinnas were confused.

Wednesday, Sept 24th

Desconcido was shut in his crate all day. He whined, and wouldn't be quiet. I had to ignore him; He deserved his punishment! leading me through the forest, he was like a greased pig!

Thursday, Sept 25th

Desconcido was let out of the crate. I took him to the pet store to buy another crate. He loved the pet store, with all of it's scents, neon fish swimming, lizards, snakes, and turtles crawling in their cages. We found a good crate, and bought it. This is where Desconcido was to sleep.

Friday, Sept 26th

Desconcido decided to make an underground city. He dug a whole network of tunnels, so he needed a bath. Once again I dumped him in the lake, and the mud seemed to disappear.

Saterday, Sept 27th

Desconcido was hunting with the pack today. He was a good tracker, and sniffed out a small deer. Narval, Velluda, Estrella, and Inverieno pursued the animal, while Desconcido, Manachado, and Fundido had went in for the final kill. It seems Desconcido is a good hunter!
