Name : Dis. That's D-ih-ss.
Name Meaning : Dis was another name for the Roman God
of the Underworld, known also as Hades and Pluto. He rules over the dead.
Tail Band Colour : A dark Scarlet.
Story :
Dis is unusual. Unusual for two reasons. Firstly, in the fact he's not unusual. Secondly, in the fact that he's the only one who knows he isn't. But then, that first statement could be incorrect. For, he is unusual, his story doesn't match any others. The important thing to take from this, is the fact that the one thing he wishes, wishes so hard it hurts, is to not be unusual.
Dis' paths lie separate from the others, by virtue of a pact made many years ago, in fact so long ago that the memory itself is blurry. When he was a foal, Dis met Hades. Hades is the personification of hell, for he tortures the minds of the innocent, and feeds on the weak. But yet, Dis was drawn to him, irrevocably interested - perhaps by virtue of his name. And Hades saw his chance. He invited Dis into his confidence. And Dis felt honoured.
But, as the days progressed, Dis began to see Hades for who he was - a monster. Insane, yet terribly, clearly, horrifically sane. An Dis knew he had to get away. And fast. Fast while he could, fast while it was within his power.
But it wasn't that easy. He'd been with Hades too long, and his mind was a mass of insecurities. But, summoning every peace of character he could muster, he broke free. But the damage was done. He left, something no one has managed before or since. And for that, he was commended.
But the others kept a distance, for they were wary, wary that his mind was poisoned, that he would destroy them. So he lurks on the edge, a figure of fear, yet constantly seeking approval. Trust takes time. But he has a lifetime to wait. And their approval will come.
Personality :
It's hard to tell. Not because he has no character, but because he has no confidence. His time with Hades has muddled him, confused as to what is real, and what is a part of hell. But Dis isn't bad.
As a foal, he was insecure, constantly seeking approval. He was liked, but not part of the gang. Occasionally he said the wrong thing, earned strange looks. But that was Dis.
It's not presumptuous to assume he will return to that. In fact, it's highly probable.
His confidence will return, slowly, but powerfully, until he is once again accepted. He knows this. What takes days to lose, can take take a lifetime to regain. So he is starting slowly, lurking on the fringe.
Yes, that's Dis. No one really knows him. But they will. For, as time progresses, they will all age together, and be drawn seamlessly together, his time with Hades just an error of path, but in the past, and he will have friends.
And he will be liked for who he is.
