Story: Annabella was already dreading work today. As much as she adored working on a ranch, there was just this one horse who always seemed to have it out for her. Today, it would be Annabella's job to monitor the mare and exercise her. Any other horse, she would've gladly taken, even the fiesty little colt they had. With a heavy sigh, she hopped in her Toyota, drove the six miles to the ranch, and went as slow as she could up the long, winding driveway.
As soon as Annabella checked in, was given a gentle warning for being late and a "good luck", she jogged into the pasture that the mare, Dee Dee, was in. She pulled her jacket tighter in the wind and pushed down her straw hat further, so it was almost over her eyes. "Here comes trouble..." Annabella muttered as Dee Dee appeared running towards her on the ridge. To her surprise, the mare ran right up to Annabella, despite typically making the ranch hand chase her. However, Annabella quickly found out her true intentions - which, no, were not good ones.
With a gentle swoosh of air that tickled Annabella's head, her hat was gone, and Dee Dee was running away like a mad man, clutching the hat in her teeth. "DEE DEE!" The ranch hand screamed, and took off, sprinting across the open fields. To her frustration and surprise, the mare flew right over the white picket fence, still holding the hat. Annabella struggled over the fence, catching her jacket on the line and ripped it right off. She cursed under her breath, and left the worthless jacket when she spotted Dee Dee way ahead of her, in the pasture near the barn.
Annabella was running across the field, looking crazy, towards Dee Dee in a rage, when she froze. Lined up against the face, with wide eyes, were her fellow ranch hands, and the owner of the barn. While many were trying so hard not to laugh at the sight - a triumphant and prancing Dee Dee, holding the hat tauntingly before Annabella, and a crazy-faced, frowning, wild-haired, winded Annabella - a couple looked surprised, and a tad frightened even. One of her friends cautiously said, "Annabella...?" Annabella red with embarrassment. "I..." She didn't know how to explain this at all. The ranch hand gave Dee Dee a glare that could burn holes.
