Why? How did she get it? What's it from? Warrior had been a brave and loyal mare since the day she was born but never before had she faced a test quite like this one. A year ago she was at a carnival for sale, no one wanted her for some reason. She was a bit stubborn but that was not it, she had just no found a good person. So she had stood, tied to the post the whole day. Many people passed by and many horses sold but she remained. If she did not sell she would head to the bad place, were horses never came back from. Becoming despaired and sad, Warrior was shocked from her moping by screams of terror. Looking around Warrior saw the humans running all about, fear in their eyes and mouths agape. Somewhat scared and confused herself, Warrior managed to break the loose halter that was tied to a post. She was galloping away, to her freedom when she heard a high pitched youngster scream. Warrior looked back and saw the source of the terror, one of the striped big cats ( Tiger) had escaped its pen. It was stalking toward a young female human who was cowering in a corner, trapped from escape by some tents. Warrior could not bear to leave the youngster and galloped back, she threw herself in front of the cat just as it lunged at the girl. Warrior and the cat were in a vicious battle, pain sliced into her side as the cat claws her, she kicked back. Somehow Warrior managed to strike the cat in the head with her front hoof. It was knocked out and a tooth flung from its maw. Warrior lay wounded in the dirt as the human parents rushed to the girl. They stared down at the brave horse that had saved their daughter and knew they could not leave her. The family paid for her vet bills and she slowly recovered. She was named Warrior for her valiant act and at shows had Princess added onto it for her bossy personality. As Warrior was healing the girl and her parents came into the stall. The girl gently placed a thing about Warriors neck, it was a necklace with that tigers tooth attached. "A gift, to remember your bravery and how you saved me" she little girl said smiling. Warrior accepted it gratefully and nuzzled the girls hand with the little strength she had. She has lived with the wonderful family ever since and always has the tiger tooth necklace with her.
