CWHR: Muddy&Oily Stallion

Postby Eremite » Wed Aug 13, 2014 1:24 pm

Disaster! A near-by ranch had a water line brake turning the ground into mud causing this poor boy to become covered in mud and on top of that he somehow has gotten oil all over his mane and tail! Yuck! The ranch now having to pay to get the pipe and land fixed can not keep him and 3 other horses. The stable hands at cottonwood have already gotten a lot off of him but his color is still unknown! It will take a lot of time but we are putting him up for adoption now. You will just have to go in blind color-wise. We do know gender and breed though.

Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Show Name: Can't Come Clean
Barn Name: Stain
Age: Four
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Morgan
Color: Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality:
History: [His history leads all the way up to just before Cottonwood received him]
"What a mess!"

As if Stain hadn't heard that before. From his mother, from his father, from the other mare and stallions and geldings, and occasionally even the other foals. He was so tired of it. Just because he was a little muddy didn't mean they should be so naggy.

Yeah. A "little" muddy. Since his first day, even, Stain has been a messy little bugger. It's almost an odd fascination. See, Stain was born in a rough time in the middle of a big ol' rainstorm, right on the muddy, gritty ground. No warm, comforting stall. No soft bedding. Just the cold, natural earth. Oddly enough, Stain didn't mind. When he slipped out, right into a dirty puddle, he didn't seem to want to move. His mother had to drag him to a warmer spot so he wouldn't freeze - but that mud stuck with him. And his mother must regret his birth being in a rainstorm and in the mud, because every day he would come trotting into the stall they shared and spray her with it.

Although very healthy in his first week, Stain's mother's milk began to go thin. She wasn't getting the necessary nutrients, and that big storm had not helped her immune system. Their owner was trying - she really was - but is was clear that she didn't know how to take care of horses, and definitely not a fragile foal and a new mother who had to feed that foal to make him strong. During his second week, Stain and his mother were transferred to a safer place. In a few days, Stain and his mum were getting the nutrients they needed.

This was when his neverending "mud-phase" began. He had a jolly time rolling in dry or wet dirt. He never seemed to mind the temperature or dirty, grimy feel of it. However, many of the other horses did. In this uneventful time in his life, Stain made over half the horses at the ranch angry. The little colt probably managed to spray almost everyone. Every few days, the ranch hands would have to clean him to keep it clean. Desperate, they bought fly sheets for summer and heavy blankets in winter in an attempt to keep him less dirty and to not have him freeze to death.
- - -

His first two years were actually uneventful after he came to the ranch. I mean, yeah, the typical Stain-mess, some worse than others, but he led a comfortable life. When he did turn two, training began. His mother ended up being adopted out, and he was sent to the "big boy pasture". The older stallions were much less tolerant of his messiness. No, sadly, he did not stop making himself a walking mudball, but he did stop spraying others.

Stain started training to be a racehorse, but that fell through. He really wasn't into it. Instead, the focus was switched to roping. At first they wanted him to be a dressage champ, but because of his rather untidy ways, that was out of the picture. So they went with a more rugged choice. Stain was very happy with that.
- - -

His third year was pretty much spent in training. To Stain, it was so long and became downright grueling for him sometimes. But it was about time he at least learned some manners!
- - -

Just a little after he turned four, the water line break happened. It was an accident, but also not. Stain was supposed to be getting ready for his first, small competition. Finally, his handlers had him completely clean. They both agreed to not let him out. However, a newer ranch hand made a mistake with horses, and released dear, mud-prone Stain to freedom. When he burst into the open fields, from the far end, water spurted up from the ground. A huge watery, swampy, muddy area had formed around it. Natural instinct for silly Stain, he skidded into his playground and rolled right in that area to take a mud bath.

Ruined was all that time spent grooming. Ruined was that water line. Ruined was that soggy piece of land. Ruined was that competition. His owner, although doing well, had many horses that he had to pay for and would have a hard time fixing it. It would cost a lot of money. He had to make a cut somewhere. It was decided that at least three horses would have to be given up to make it all work. Although the man loved Stain, he realized other horses and the ranch hands did not - the stallion was just so muddy all the time! It was hard work to get him clean! Stain needed an owner very tolerant and patient. So he chose Stain and two other horses and gave them up. Cottonwood was in for a surprise!
Other: I love this! Big wip!

Show Name: True Colours
Barn Name: Truth
Age: (He is younger) 3
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Morgan
Color: Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality: Slighty shy, kind and loyal. Once he can trust someone, he will do all he can for them and be loyal to the end. He is still not sure of humans but with his kind nature he will easily be won over with some work.
History: Muddy was taken from his mother at a young age, because of this he did not grow very well. He was taken to a place that wanted to do experiments on young horses. He was poked, prodded and cut, eventually he was completely terrified of humans. His kind nature was hidden beneath his fear and sadness. Because of an experiment done on his eye, he never regained full use of it. He is now very shy when approached from this side. He can still be shown but only by someone he truly trusts completely. Luckily he was rescued by someone who shut down the horrible experiment place. He had been at the ranch for quite a few months but he still didn't trust any of them enough to let them near. After the incident at the rescue ranch he is very upset and needs someone to spend lots of time with him.
Other: Nope

History:
Story: I cleared my throat as I stepped out of the car and sharply inhaled the country air. This was going to be a great getaway, I knew it. I left my car parked in the lot, and was greeted by the warm murmur of the people laughing inside the pub. A gust of warm air blew across my face as I trudged across the dark lot to the small, warm pub lit up in it's dark surroundings.

Show Name:Nickles 'n Dimes
Barn Name:Nickle
Age: 4
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Morgan
Color: Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality:Nickle is a highly sensitive, instinctive, intuitive, emotional horse. He is a very quick learner and extremely willing as he will do almost anything to avoid pressure. He needs to move and love a job.His sensitive nature requires super consistency as He is a born worry wart and can easily become fearful and panic. He tends to react first and think later, shying and spooking easily, leaving you fearful. He is most likely to be herd bound and notice the smallest changes in his environment.
History:Nickle was born in a nice home and was born healthy except he has always had lung issues. This made him unsuitable for riding and the breeder sold him to a small farm where he would be used as a pasture buddy for some bigger work horses, the owner had coincidentally named Bonnie and Clyde. Being the smaller horse in the situation Nickle was constantly being harassed and picked on by the two. The farmer and his son sold him as a broke driving horse, even though he had no experience what so ever in driving cart. Due to his personality the people sold him, not wanting to take the time to properly train him. That is how he ended up next to Cottonwood, he was used as a halter horse, so that made it easy on his lungs and he seems to enjoy it very well.

When the pipes burst and everything turned into a mess he was the first one evacuated due to his poor lung function and all the fumes. He arrived at cottonwood scared and nervous and it took a while to settle him down and scrub the secondary dirt off of him. When I first met him I looked at his nameplate and laughed, because I knew that dimes and nickels where supposed to be shiny and clean. He was and is far from being clean, let alone shiny!

Age: 3
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Morgan
Color: Unknown
Personality: A free spirit, Apollo normally does not hold Humans in his highest interest. He will normally do whatever he wants, whenever he feels like it. He is very perceptive and will stand up to most dangers. Apollo is somewhat the 'alpha' of the herd, and naturally takes charge.
History: Apollo has a rather unexciting history, he was born at a barn far away, but his mother wouldn't accept him. He was given to a mare whose' foal died, and was raised by her. When Apollo was a yearling, he was sold at an auction for a low price, to the barn where he lives now. He grew into a very good jumper, and it is one of the only thing he will do willingly. He loves jumping , and doesn't care who rides him.
