It's been awhile so here is an lovely stallion up for adoption, he also come with an interesting story!


This stunning stallion was actually found wondering alone. Not where you'd suspect to see a horse though. He was running down a busy Freeway! Nearly hit several times by cars and trucks he someone how survived till the people at Cottonwood were able to get there and find him, corner him, and catch him.


To win come up with a name that relates to how he ended up on the Freeway and Tell me (in his history) how and why he ended up there. Art of all kinds is welcome! I'd prefer if you don't using gifs since they make my computer and other's computers run slowly and crash. Fancy up the form if you want to. Add as many extras as you want!

Personality: Freeway is a young stallion who wants to see the world even if that means a few close calls here and there. That said Freeway has not sense of danger or the will to listen to anybody. He is brave to the point of almost being foolish. He is a bit of a loner and he is also a escape artist. He is still very wild in personality but, he as soon as you get his trust he will always have your back human or horse.
History: Freeway was born in a herd-like breeding program he didn't have much human contact. When he was a yearly he decided to escape. He become a lone stallion this is that's when he realized that he wanted to spent his time traveling around. So that what he did. He explored every thing from Junk yards to parking lots. One day the wild stallion have found his way to a freeway. He walk out on the asphalt cursitory on it was. Suddenly a car whipped by luckily in a different then Freeway. Freeway spooked and bolting forway into incoming traffic. On the freeway there was sometimes a deer or a some road kill. But, a spooked wild horse that was a new one. A few car stopped and moved out of the terrified horse's way. Freeway tried to jump one of the car in his way. Luckily for driver flee the car before he jumped. It was also lucky that Freeway's jump didn't land with any of his legs in the windshield of the car. After a few hours of dodging car and truck a group of Cotton Wood Ranch staff come trying to catch him. However this didn't help much because the last thing Freeway wanted to do was to be caught. Sadly, he had the skill set to prolong his capture. After a another hour the relentless stallion was finally cornered. They got him on the trailer though he bucked, kicked and reared the whole way. The stallion made it out of the freeway without serious injury. They called him Freeway due to the fact that's where they found him and the name stuck. They searched for a owner when they didn't find one CHWR took him in. They had trained him enough so that he could be ridden. The trainers that worked with him gave him the show name Born to be Free for his wild behavior. Which he still had even after he was trainer and lived with humans.

Best Friend: Aphrodite She generally just a likeable horse that is friend with everybody. She is kind and understanding which is the main qualites that he is friends with her for.
Foe: Roseus, isn't exactly one of the most pleasant horses to be around if your a horse. She is grumpy, antisocial, like picking on other horses and at times aggressive. These two never gotten along even from the first time they met.
Discipline: he is being trained in show jumping.
What I would I do with him?: I would do art of him, I already had a bunch of sketches. I will write a story of his meeting my other CHWRs horses (if I don't do that right now). I think it would nice for Roseus, my grumpy mare, to meet her match... And then more art XD.

Personality: Lance is a pretty skittish stallion. He spooks at anything from
plastic bags to little ponies, so you can imagine the terror he was feeling

being trapped on the freeway. He's a sweet horse, and he means well in anything that he does, but he can be a bit clumsy, so sometimes he's more trouble when he's trying to help out than anything else. Despite his lack of courage, he loves cattle and has good cow-sense.
History: It was early in the evening, around 5:30, when Lance went out for a light walk after his training. He lived on a ranch, trained and handled by cowboys and cowgirls that would use the horses for anything from cattle herding, to barrel racing, even mounted shooting. Now, because of this horse's attitude, you'd assume that he wouldn't be a mounted shooting horse, and that'd be correct. He was a cutting horse, but on this ride, he and his rider were accompanied by a seasoned shooting horse, a sixteen year old gelding in fact, and his experienced rider. Without giving it a second thought, they fired a shot onto a target nailed to a tree, and sent Lance galloping down the fields, throwing his rider in his fit of sheer terror.

Unfortunately, instead of heading towards the acres of grass that belonged to the ranch, Lance galloped through an opening barely large enough for his tack to squeeze through, and basically stepped over the guardrail, onto the busy freeway. His rider was knocked unconscious, and had to be carried by the other horse and rider pair back to the barn, leaving the young stallion to leap and dodge the oncoming traffic. He had obtained a few nicks and scratches on his hindquarters and shoulders, but he was unscathed by the time an empty trailer belonging to Cottonwood Ranch pulled over and managed to calm and load the panicked horse.

They were able to find and attempt to return Lance to his previous owner, the one he had violently thrown from his back. The rider had obtained a mild concussion, but when offered her stallion back, she bluntly replied, "I can't possibly ride a wild beast like that thing". And so, Cottonwood had no choice but to take in this unwanted horse, and nurse him back to a ride-able state. He still loves to work with cattle, as he used to, but now everyone at the barn knows never to underestimate Lance's skittishness, no matter how laid back he seems.

Wild is a very, well, wild. His name definitely suits him. He has no sense of danger, and just goes for things. He is very curious and wants to see more that what's at Cottonwood. He has definitely had some close calls before. He is very brave, but that's not always a good thing. He can be very foolish to, and not use his mind. I believe he could be very smart if he wanted to be, but sometimes I think he would rather be foolish! He's a bit of a show off at times, and you could definitely say he likes to show off and charm every horse or human he meets. He is a real goofball.
History:
Wild was going to a special training session about 45 minutes to an hour away from Cottonwood. We loaded him into the trailer and locked it. However, it wasn't really locked. We thought it was because we heard the click, but the lock never went in. Wild was looking out the trailer bars when something shiny caught his eye. A car with a very flashy license plate and bumper stickers had just passed us. So what do you think Wild did, he tried to escape. He just had to go after it. He started kicking at the trailer door. It flew open about the third time he kicked it. He jumped out of the trailer and started racing down the freeway. Dodging cars left and right. We pulled over because we saw the door fly open and Wild jump out. We couldn't run out into the rode to get him. We tried running on the side but he was to fast and wouldn't listen to us screaming his name. He probably couldn't even see the car anymore considering it was going 70 down the freeway. He just kept running anyway. He terrified me at one point, he was about the same length of his tail away from being hit by a pickup truck. He dodged it and kept running. A police officer who had seen Wild running a little ways back had pulled over many cars so Wild would have a better chance at not being hit. We had stopped a while back because we couldn't keep up, luckily, we had another horse in the trailer, so I rode him. I was gaining on Wild and had him in sight. Then all of the sudden, he got tired, and stopped. He had ran in between a mile and a mile and a half, exhausting himself, just to chase a car. I jumped off my horse and ran over to him, and started yelling "Wild, you foolish, foolish, horse, you could have been killed, what on earth did you think you were doing! Your in big trouble!" Now that that was out of my system, I gave him a hugh hug, "I'm so glad your ok, don't ever do that again" I was so relived he was ok.

Best Friend: Wild gets along well with my own stallion, Bambi. They like to run around the pasture chasing the other horses. Bambi can be a bit wild to. Also, they can both be trouble.Bambi might still say "Clorice" because the names were switched and it hasn't been changed yet.

Future Mate: I don't have a mare picked out for him yet. I'm waiting for the perfect mare for him.

History: Curious, always true to his name, had dreamed about seeing beyond his confining fences. Although his owner kept all of his horses well cared for, Curious didn't like the idea of staying in one place his whole life and waking up to the same world. He was a wild spirit waiting to be freed. He never acted upon the urge until he was eight, when he went to a show and saw a sliver of the world beyond the fence.

Giving into the desire, Curious freed himself from his handler, pulling fiercely away from the empty, waiting trailer that he should've gone home to the same pasture in. 'Loose horse!' People yelled across the area. Curious ignored the calls of his name and skittered onto the main road. wip

Personality:
Solo is a very adventurous boy, always wanting to journey past the fences that contain him, always wondering what life is like when you are free. Solo also has the characteristics of a mule, stubborn when he doesn't or does want to something. He is like the dare-devil of the horse world, frequently risking his hide in exchange for freedom and adventure.

History:

Solo stood silently in the field, staring intently at the horizon, a never ending land of adventure and freedom. He wanted to go there, to the land the other horses called "Beyond The Trees". His friend Buddy sat next to him, chomping on grass noisily. Solo liked Buddy, but he had no mind of his mind. The gelding was a great companion, but he was just a puppet for the humans, no thoughts besides [i]turn, halt, trot. A hawk swooped down and almost brushed Solo, as if the predatory bird was telling him go, go find your adventure. Solo shook his long mane out and galloped towards the fence, clearing it with doe-like grace. He continued towards The Land Beyond The Trees, where he would never he caught or handled by humans again. Solo's hooves pounded the ground, the drum-like sound urging him on until his hooves collided with cement. Solo stopped directly in the free-way, watching in fear as one of the human's monsters zoomed by him, its yellow eyes glowing eerily. Solo took off faster than he had ever run before. Hours past, filled with terror as Solo tried not to be eaten by the monsters made of metal and that growled at him whenver he got in their way. Solo felt something sting his hindquaters, like a bee or fly. It wasn't. Bees or fliesdidn't make him tired. Solo ambled towards a grassy spot and laid down, sleep enveloping him. [/i]

Later:

Solo woke up in an unfamiliar stall, much roomier than his old prison like cell. He gave a soft nicker as he got up, the hard wood padded with soft shavings. Solo took a couple of mouthfuls of hay that was in the hay net next to the window. Solo looked out the window into the new ranch. Yes! He had made it! His old home was no where to be seen, he was now in The Land Beyond The Trees, and it was better than he had ever imagined.
