Gender: Stallion
Height: 15.3hh
Breed: Andalusian X APHA

Personality:
Overall, Chance is a very calm and collected stallion. You would never describe him as fiery or uncontrolable. He is an easy mount, is willing, and just wants to please. His ground manners are as not as good as in the saddle, as sometimes he threatens to nip, but never does. He has thin skin, and when you curry him even a little too hard, he will make it known! He will swing his head round and bare his teeth when you touch his chest. It's just a thing I guess.... who knows why he does it. I have some stallions who are loco about mares. Chance is a little more laid back. He does show off for sure in the pasture or area, arching his neck and speeding up. He is not quite the horse for trail riding, and if you did take him on the trails, you would need an experienced rider who can hold on. Out in the silent nature, he tends to spook. He can be ridden in the area by an intermediate to experienced rider though. You never have to use the crop on him, as he is always on the speedy side. He tends to test new people some, but once you have ridden him a few times, you will become addicted! He is currently shown at 4-h and pony club with a 17 year old named Marlee who loves him to death. I try to participate and come to all of their shows with Marvel, and if not, the girl takes Marvel for the day. Chance hates going to shows without marvel(read more below). Chance is average when it comes to smartness. I certainly would not call him dumb, but he is not over smart either. He is not fond at all of other stallions, but is totally fine with geldings. He is usually one of the only stallions at shows, so he does not really have to worry about it. He acts more like a gelding than a stallion.

A special connection - I actually had the idea of this picture in my head since last year. I was really scared to draw Marvel, as the last time I did it it took over four hours, and I felt in that amount of time I could be doing customs. I wanted the horse in this picture to be special too. I don't have any horses who have any special
Pose for the picture! - This beautiful headshot was done by horse, who so very kindly pm'ed me offering to do it! Thank you soooo much h o r s e!
Canter Like A King- Lol, i just realized that i forgot to fill out the day in the dates mark on the bottom of this picture... i seriously forgot what date it was! *headdesk* and then forgot to even put it down before i uploaded it. Wow. Anyway, as you can probably see, i do better with my bodies on pencil and paper. We do not have a scanner, so i am super sorry for how bad it looks. It was RELLY hard to find the right colors. Their are pencils scattered all around this house, so i went on a wild goose chase and went scrounging through all of our desk drawers and boxes to try to find colors that matched his. Never succeeded on that line.
Chance W. Western Tack - I really like how this came out! It is so... Chance! My brother is having his birthday party, and i am back in my room drawing! Lol. He seriously does not care.
Pixel But Pretty! - My little sister Nancy did this, as she loves this guy too! She is really exited and supportive about entering him!
An Everything Horse - This amazing editable is done by BayloneRose! Go check it out! I bookmarked it last year, and never used it till now! The ONE bad part is it has no layers with lock alpha, just one layer for everything!
Headshot - These lines where done by me, originally for an Teke. I did not win the teke, but I thought I would put them to use with another beautiful horse!
Marvel & Chance: Marvel and Chance have a real deep down connection. Marvel is not hyper around chance, which is strange. He is rather calm, quite. Their is a complete trust bond between them. Marvel will go and sleep in-between Chance's legs, with no doubt that Chance will not step on him. Chance will lower his head and fall asleep too. Without Marvel at shows, Chance will start whinnying and get super jumpy. When back at the barn, he is fine without him, but whenever Marvel needs a rest, he finds Chance. Chance is not really known as a layed back stallion, but when they are together, It is like nothing can make them unhappy or scared.connection with Marvel as Chane has. A lot of my stories have the horses playing with marvel, being joker buddies, liking to run together, but none that stay calm and depend on him like Chance. This piece of art was one that I have been wanting to make for a long time, and I am happy that Chance came along to get me to it!
Quirks:
- Chance has a sweet tooth for any fruit popsicles. During the summer you can usually find some in the barns refrigerator. If Chance sees you with one, you better get away! He will kick down the walls to get one of those!
- He has a tendency to eat his shavings while lipping up his hay from the ground... more than most horses.
- Because he is a stallion, he does not go out into pastures with other horses, but seems to play wild while in his own turnout. He looks like he is playing two different stallions, fighting in the wild. He will rear and nip the air, and then when he lands, flip around and act like if he where just nipped. It works right? Either way, he is always the winner!
Story 1:
Today was just a normal day at the barn. It was not unusual to have a nice, smooth running day. Everyone here at CWHR was very cooperative and knew what they where doing. Every summer at CWHR was busy because of the MM. Us humans have got use to it, but the all of the other horses at the stable are confused. Why are their humans bringing in crazy animals, and spending so much of their time with them... to what... touch them? Sit on their backs? Make them pull a tarp around? Any of them could do that in a matter of seconds without all of this ridicules freaking out on the horses part!
I grabbed Chance's bride. It was time for some flatwork!
We where doing an amazing extended trot around the arena. Smooth and floating. I closed my eyes for a second. "LOOSE HORSE!" came a yell from inside the barn. At the second that I turned Chance around, a Mustang had just trotted into the arena. The loose horse. It stared at us for a second, before jogging farther into the arena. I should dismount. Or maybe not. I should wait for someone to come and get the mustang. They could just close the gate and walk in, anyway, it was safer in here than running around the farm. It was a pretty dappled grey mare. She pawed the ground, and sniffed it. I never really thought about what Chance would do, he had been standing here quietly looking at her so far, so I left him alone. I could hear footsteps approaching the arena. The mares head sprung up, and she dove back to the door, where the person had just appeared. She was just about to run right into her owner, when Chance let out a loud noise... sounding more like a shriek than a whinny. The mare stopped head in her tracks. Chance started walking forward, and I tried to pull him back, but he was already face to face with the mare. She put her head down. We all froze. He tipped his head slightly and looked down at her, his neck arched. I just sat on his back blankly, watching I guess, like everyone else. After a long ten seconds of him staring down at her, which seemed more like a conversation between them, she turned. To our complete surprise, she walked straight over to her owner, and stuck her muzzle right into the halter. We all kind of smiled and gasped at the same time. The owner slipped the rest of the halter over the mustang mares head, and smiled at me as she lead her away, the mare willfully following. "You told her what was what huh Chance!" I said as I patted his neck. After a minute of taking it all in, we continued doing flatwork, and the day returned to being... well... normal!
Story 2:
It was Chance's first show since he had been here at CWHR. The last owners had explained how he hated going, and suggest that we just retire him from showing. Well, I was born this way, but I am crazy and determined, and so I entered him into a simple beginner class with the girl that leases him, Marlee. Marlee was quite nervous. She trusted Chance, but knew that he could be crazy at shows. We backed him out of the trailor slowly. When his hooves touched the ground, he immediately stiffened up. His nostrils flared, and he looked around. Another horse in the area started cantering and let out a small buck. At that, Chance spooked, pulling back on the lead, but I held tight. His pulled again, but I was not letting go. I was just about to lead him back up into the tailor and drive away when I heard Marvel bark from out of our trucks window. Oh no! That would only scare Chance more! To my surprise, he calmed down a bit and nickered back loudly. Marvel barked again and hopped out of the window. It was high for such a small dog, and I closed my eyes as I was afraid he would hurt himself landing, but he seemed really determined and came bounding over to Chance. When Chance saw him, his whole expression changed, and he was completely relaxed instantly. "Marvel... you never cease to amaze me!" I said out loud. Marlee laughed.
The show that day turned out to be amazing. As long as I was their, standing one the other side of the arena gate holding Marvel, Chance was totally fine. It seemed like he was showing off to Marvel, how wonderful a competition horse he could be! Marvel would bark occasionally, which caught attention to other participators who frowned as if you say, "No canine!" But NO ONE was taking this dog away from Chance. Not today, not ever!
History: Chance was certainly a planned breeding. In the state of blue grass, Kentucky, he was born. Every step was taken carefully in the breeding. They knew that they would probably get a gorgeous foal, and Chance was more than they imagined. His mothers name was Counting Seconds, and his fathers name was Fifteen Left To Run. Fifteen Seconds was decided even before he was born as his registration name! It was the night of one of the hottest days of the year that he was foaled. And the next morning, it was 112 degrees. Chance didn't stand up for almost six hours, but we don't blame him, he must have been steaming. He was put out into the pasture with other mares and foals. He made friends very easily, and loved to gallop along the fence, he could never come in first, as their was one thoroughbred colt that did that. Rather, he would come in 2nd. The fillies in the group never ran that fast. When he grew to be a yearling, he was halter trained, and started going to shows. He was never ridden, but was trotted around to see his movements, and he usually won the competitions. He did this till he was three years old. Showing off was his all. During this time, he was trained in English, and was doing small jumps and little bit of dressage.
The third year of his life, he was sold for a large amount of money to a rich man who owned a ranch. His daughter wanted a fancy and beautiful horse, as she was tired of the "normal" QH bays and chestnuts that her dad loved. Don't get me wrong, even if she was rich, she loved horses with all of her heart, and treated Chance like a king. The girls younger sister and brother also loved Chance, who they would go out into the pasture and play with all of the time. The rich parents trusted horses, and let their children spend as much time with them as they wanted. Most of even the jumpiest horses would we clam and laid back with the children. The family mostly rode western, and so Chance was trained to do many western sports. Over the hundreds of hours the girl spent on Chance's back, he learned to rein, barrel race, pole bend, and a lot of other western games. Their first shows went well, as Chance had experience with crowds and other horses, but their was one tragic day when he was tied up and being groomed, and out of no where, and large stallion darted around a corner, his lead rope dragging. Chance had seen this stallion. He was starting in barrel racing, which he almost always won because of his immense speed which left a trail of fire behind him. Theone problem with him was that he had a horrible temper, and so they where planning on gelding him, but where afraid he would loose his love for speed and barrels... and winning everything for that matter. He reared up in the air at Chance, who was of course another stallion. Chance took on the challenge and tried to rear back, but he was jerked back. He was tied! He turned his butt to the other stallion, and kicked him. The stallion kicked him back, while a piercing whinny rung through the air. Everyone had stopped what they where doing, and where looking at the two fighting stallions, one tied up. Finally, after many tries, the man got ahold of the lead to the fighting stallion, and with the help from some other people, pulled him down and away from Chance. Chance was bruised, and had a bleeding gaskin. Chance's owners ran to him, hugging and tending his wounds, but Chance was in a state of shock. He just stood their frozen. They went home early that day.
It took Chance a long time to recover, but he could not be taken to shows, because he would freak out completely and become very unsafe, spooking at everything. It seemed he would go right back into that state of shock. It came time, that they girl had to go off to collage, and the family decided that Chance needed to find a new home. None of the girls siblings could show him, and they was a big part of their horse life, so they put Chance up for adoption.
It had been several months of him up before they finally found the perfect place. Thousands of acres of land, the best training, attention, and care. Special therapy for him at shows. It was all they had ever dreamed of for Chance. Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch. They dropped him off on a spring morning, where they said their goodbyes. The girl met the younger girl who would be leasing him from the farm, and talked about how special Chance was, even how he loved being scratched behind the ears, and how he hated people touching his chest. Chance nickered a soft goodbye to them as they walked away.
When I first saw Chance, I really could not get my eyes off him. He was in perfect condition, shining like the stars, and seemed so relaxed. Marvel, who usually comes to greet any new horses, was no where in sight. It was night, and time to go to bed. I would sleep in the loft tonight, as I was too tired to drive home. As I dozed off, I heard a bark from down in the barn. My eyes shot open, forgetting that I was not at home for a second. Marvel. I got up and stumbled into the isle of horse stalls. Some horses peeked out, annoyed that they had been waken from their beauty sleep. I walked over to Chance's stall. Inside, Marvel and him where sniffing each other. Chance nickered quietly and nudged Marvel, who walked over to the stall corner and curled up. I smiled at them. Marvel looked up at me his tongue hanging out. I smiled, and then he rested his head on his furry paws and fell asleep.
Poem:
I know it does not rhyme in any way.. but I just wrote what I feel sometimes.
Keep it in your pocket
In your pocket holds a gift that no one can tack from you
let them try let them scrounge and scratch and weep
close your eyes tight, this moment now is passing
and ever night you go to bed, a tear sweeps down your cheek
the sounds of your mothers voice, and the laugh of your little brother
the creaks in only certain stairs, and you know what ones
the sound of your dad, returning from work
the stillness of the night
you know that every second that passes, will never come again
and they say you only have one life, but spend every moment wisely
because, as you get older, everyone else gets older too
go be free, live your life
don't let anything hold you back from the amazing life that you have
but be patent at the hardest times, because, moments will pass
and new ones will come again
now open your eyes, they are still trying
but no one can take away the memories or the moments
you have in your pocket
Discipline: All around gaming, 4h, and also some English. He is a super athletic horse. If only he could put more of his attention on the real competition... and stop flirting with all of the mares!!

Future Mate: This has not been decided yet, but I am thinking he will only have one official mate... kind of like Scout and Pampa! I just need to wait to get the perfect mare!
What will I do with him?: I will surely make art of him! Especially with Marvel and his Future mate! He will be an amazing new addition to my amazing CWHR family, and he will be pampered to death! My little sister has also taken a liking to him, and plans to make art of him in the future!
Other: My dream horse has now been created. You know how their is that horse that you can never order as a custom, because It just isn't... orderable... it has to come as an adoptable. Lol.
