Deerssert are a mystical, mythological species that appear in history every so often. Sightings grew sparser and sparser through the years, but now they've started to appear more and more. Here at the HQ, a centre dedicated to keeping these creatures from being hunted, we cannot foster them all-- and that's where you come in!

The simplest way to explain them? Deersserts are deer with a twist! While the specifics vary from deer to deer, they all have a few things in common. Deersserts have muscle, skin, fur and bone, but they are described as tasting like sweets. Their scent lingers so much that hides carry a fragrant scent even after death. Instead of fluffy tails, they have a pouf of whipped cream or ice cream [depending on the deer!] with some manner of fruit on top.

Size-wise, they're about the size of a border collie, but have been known to grow to the size of a horse in rare cirucmstances. [In even rarer circumstances, they have gotten bigger. This is the largest deerssert known.] Likewise, they are born as small as a full-grown rabbit, and some never progress past this size.

sᴛᴏʀʏ;; Sunlight cascaded down through the leaves, dappling the soft mossy grass below. A light breeze caused branches to move and each movement gave a almost musical sound. 林 moved through the forest silently, almost as one with the forest, the little soot sprites on his back sat content as he moved, each pair of eyes blinking in their own time. He took his time today, enjoying the feeling of the woods on this particular afternoon, 林 was in no rush to arrive anywhere.

As 林 walked, kodamas began to appear to watch his progress, some ran along the branches of trees while others peeked out from the protection of roots. Some braver ones danced between his legs, as his pace was slow enough for them to dart between them with ease. 林 paid no mind to them, the ever present grin on his face never wavering as he continued on. Though the soots became more animated when they saw the kodama, waving in greeting to them and moving about excitedly on his back.

林 came to his den that he called home, laying down he sighed in relief. Reaching over to his hoard of human items and knickknacks, he dug around until he found the candy stars, tossing them over his back for the soots to enjoy. Oh and what a frenzy they did make, each soot trying to grab as many stars as it could, tossing them between each other and devouring them together in content.

totoro has a huge and amazing imagination that honestly could be larger than the seven seas. take this for example; a simple blanket might not be much to you, just something to wrap up in while watching grave of the fireflies and crying (i have no shame in saying i cried while watching it cx). to totoro though it is a cape that he can fly in or a a long rope that he wears around his shoulders as he walks down his castle hallway to his large throne, and that throne would be a simple chair in reality. so being in the forest isn't just being in the forest. it is way beyond what you think it is. in his view we're off adventuring the next hidden village, or a abandoned temple with gold mounted into a mummies tomb. this crazy and child like behavior is always occurring and whenever you are with totoro, no matter what mood, we will bring a smile to your face and adventure to your soul. he loves it because of the imagination and adventure you can have.

growing up

this fear is always and forever will be hunting totoro. it is like the shadow on his back, it will never leave him, but it will subside once finding comfort or reassuring smiles. growing up is like a reality check, it knocks your door of emotions and badges in not caring at all what the coincidences will be. it wreaks your peaceful home in the mind, throwing the fragile dishes of love on the ground and throwing the cushions of comfort everywhere. totoro is fearful of becoming, old. this fear though is pointless, because ever day that he gets older he becomes younger. totoro is some person who can grow old, of course his body will be one day, week, month, year older. his personality and mind, himself, will never be old. totoro will be young for what seems as forever.

what is their favorite thing about the forest;;
He likes the trees. The really big ones that have lived for hundreds of thousands of years, watching over the forest as it lives and breathes. He believes that such old trees are sentient beings, that they think and feel. The trees guard the forest and so he guards the trees, ever watchful. The redwood trees have been in the forest since before Haku was born and they are still growing ever taller as days pass them by, he speaks to them as if they could speak back.

His favorite food is Penny bun mushrooms which can be found growing wild near oak, beech, birch and coniferous trees in open ground. Hakus favorite candy is Bubblegum flavored millions. It's rare that he can get a hold of these so often treasures them, only eating a few at a time.

Don't laugh! They make his skin go all red and blotchy which causes it to itch horribly. It's not a deathly high allergy but it's a do not want reaction anyway.

Haku is well within his rights to fear fire, he has seen what it can do, just how much devastation it causes in such short amounts of time

Those are Susuwatari (wandering soot) and they live in the abandoned log cabin in the middle of the forest, Haku often visits them and brings along his millions to share with them since he can't get a hold of their favorite food

Personality
Ghibli is stubborn and doesn't like to admit when he is wrong.
He is loyal to his friends and can be depended on.
He is good at keeping secrets.
He trusts his friends completely.
He is impulsive and doesn't think things through, except when it involves secrets.
He can be arrogant and thinks highly of himself.


Accessories
Ghibli always has his messenger bag with him.
it is a Grey bag, and has a few patches sewn on the corners.
One is a leaf, because he loves the forest, and another is one of his dust sprite friends.
the last patch is a heart, Ghibli has never explained that patch to anyone.



what is their favorite thing about the forest;;
Shadows.
Ghibli loves to watch the shadows in the forest.
The leaves causes rippling shapes on the ground that he finds memorizing.
He sees patterns, shapes, friends and enemies in the shadows.
sometimes He believes he is seeing the future.
He carries a sketchbook to draw and write what he sees.
he never shares this book, or the fact that he sees anything at all with anyone.
Ghibli is usually arrogant and impulsive, but when he watches the shadows he feels at peace.
He doesnt want anyone to know how he feels.
He often writes the phrase "The Shadow's Secrets are My Secrets" on his notebook.
In fall and winter when the trees have no leaves he can barely stand to be in the forest.
It feels wrong to him, because the shadows are sharp and strange.

Story
Ghibli closed his notebook for the day. Tucking his it into his messenger bag he stood stiffly. " i saw that deer again" Ghibli thought " i wonder what they mean?". Stepping lightly off the bench he started to walk down the forest path. as he traveled further from the forest and closer to the city he passed more deer. He watched as deer passed him, seeing a mix of faces and colors. an especially pretty deer with wings caught his attention. he watched her elegantly maneuver through the crowd, until he ran headlong into someone. " Hey! watch where your walking!" snapped the deer he had knocked to the ground. Ghibli reached down to help her up and froze. The orange deer had large gills on the side of her head and a long, aquatic looking tail. she was the splitting image of the silhouette he had seen in the shadows. "Thanks a lot" she growled as she stumbled to her feet. Ghibli snapped back to reality and quickly started apologizing to the deer. " I'm sorry!" he said " i really should have payed better attention". She stopped grumbling for a moment and looked at him. as she looked at him a light blush spread across her face " It's f-f-fine" she mumbled, looking away. Before Ghibli could say anything else the deer rushed of into the crowd. "that was kinda weird" Ghibli mumbled. "one minute she is mad and the next she seems shy". Shaking his head he continued walking towards his home. " well, im sure she will be important to me somehow, so i must be seeing her again sometime..."
