When you first come across Carter, you'll find he is a very shy and socially awkward soul and so it takes him a lot of courage even to muster up a little greeting to those that he wishes to speak to. It's still a mystery as to where this insecurity comes from, but it's more strongly pointing to his sexuality - since he is homosexual. Just like many people, he feels as though this makes him an outcast when all he wants to do is fit in. But who knows? Perhaps when you get to know him a little better, and you're able to enter his friend circle, you'll managed to give him a little confidence boost both in himself and the things he does. Once you are able to get to know him, he tends to be a Plumerian who has a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humour. When Carter's happy he tends to be one to make jokes, even though some of them may be horrifically bad, just to try and either make those around him laugh or simply himself. He sometimes even hums a soft tune whenever he is in a good mood almost without him realising it. When he is upset, however, he tends to try to keep to himself for he is someone who doesn't wish to burden others with his problems and would rather let himself suffer alone than to bring someone down with him. He will rarely cry in front of someone, and tends to be the kind to do it when he knows he's alone - even if he longs for the hug of someone he loves to comfort him in those dark times. When he is angry, however, he is someone to simply shrug it off for he isn't one to get into fights. Though, one thing that Carter has that not many people have these days are to be courteous and believes in the love that belongs in fairy tales and movies. He is a romantic at heart and is grateful for his love of poems and screen plays for it has given him the vocabulary to write down at least a little bit of how he feels to describe it to the other - though, to him, love is a word that you cannot describe for there's no number high enough to show how much your love weighs, or amount of money to prove how much you value love, and so there are not enough words to describe it. So this is why he is grateful that even though he has the social anxiety and the shyness, he is able to talk to the other in his own little way. Overall, Carter is a kind and caring boy who has a big heart and tends to put others in front of himself - and who knows? Carter is a very large sucker for flowers. There's just something about the thought of his crush waltzing up to him with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that makes his paws go numb, his face flood with heat, and his heart pound loudly in his ears because of how romantic the thought was. He doesn't just like flowers for that reason, but finds that their smell and their beauty is very alluring to him. Carter also has a very high interest in floral design, despite the fact that he has a natural talent for writing screenplays and poems.

He's quite the little songbird when he thinks that no one is paying him any mind, and will often start to mumble songs that are stuck in his head in an effort to get them off of his mind. Carter is very embarrassed about his singing even though he shouldn't be; he's got a very beautiful voice if you can manage to sneak up on his when he isn't paying attention and during his singing.

There's nothing as innocent as Carter's love for snow. He simply adores it and will play in the snow even when his paws, his nose, and the tips of his ears go numb from the cold! Something about the white, fluffy frozen water just brings out an adorable, childish side of Carter.

While Carter doesn't like loud thunderstorms or the time before the storms when the air is heavy and electric, that time when the hair on the back of your neck raises and you know a storm is coming, he does enjoy the sound of rain on the roof of his home. He finds it very soothing and easy to fall asleep listening to.

Whether or not he is the one writing them doesn't matter. He loves poems as long as they aren't crude or overuse profanity because language like that makes him very upset. The poems can be sad, happy, overjoyed, angry, any emotion- even though they have an effect on Carter's emotions.

Who really wakes up and looks forward to going outside and running around in the heat of the day? Hopefully no one! Carter can get overheated very easily, which is probably why he likes the colder months more than the warm months. He strongly prefers to stay inside and read a good book during the summer.

Especially when it is on his literature because Carter tends to get a little insecure on that topic. He's very sensitive to how others look at his work, and if he trusts you enough to let you read something that he writes you'd better not have the audacity to call it terrible. If this happens, you can rest assured knowing that Carter will not write anything personal for several weeks.
☢Profanity☢
As mentioned above, Carter finds profanity very crude and brutish. You'll not hear him utter a single curse because he thinks that using any swear words will lower his intelligence level and slow down his ability to think, which is something Carter definitely doesn't want.
♒Being teased♒
Does anyone really enjoy being teased in a way that is meant to hurt their feelings? While some people are able to brush off the insults meant to hurt them Carter is, once again, very sensitive and words do hurt him. Sticks and stones hurt him physically, which is somewhere that can easily be healed, but being hurt mentally is....is different.
