how i met my very bestest friend ;; Azar's story
I was just a cub then; a tiny, mewling, innocent cub.
I had my eyes shut, my legs too small to allow me to move.
I was helpless, but my mother could not keep me.
My father was a lovely lion, all warmth and
friendliness, but my mother's sister could
not have cubs, and she was very jealous
of my mother. I was not an only cub; I had two
sisters and a brother, all older than me except my brother. He
was stolen by my aunt; my sisters killed. I was left by pure
chance that my mother returned from hunting in time.
My parents knew I was not safe, so they sent me to the one
place my jealous aunt could not follow; the hexawolves.
They had a young cub, still towering over me, but I was
old enough then to walk, talk, move around.
I was a little ball of fluff, pouncing on the wolves' tails,
having fun in their gentle watch. The hexawolf cub was
friendly, generous, and happy-go-lucky. We played together
every day.
I grew bigger, until the fully-grown lioness I am today. I am
sleek, well-fed- the hexawolves eat more than I will ever do-
but I spend my days chasing Phoenix' long legs. She is much,
much bigger than I am, but I have grown up with this. I accept
it. And I am a better, faster, stronger lion for it.
