☁What are you like☁
Cinik is very stoic, for the most part, but it isn't for lack of interest - he simply hasn't been socialized well enough for him to pick up on things that mortals seem to have an abundance of, such as a sense of humor, sarcasm, friendliness or anger. He does, however, culture a healthy dose of curiosity and intelligence, and is more than happy to experiment with the effects of his minor changes in the environment.
After his initial socialization with a village that believes he is a god, Cinik learns pride and honor, and the range of adoration and anger. He sees just what it means to be betrayed, and observes love from a distance, unsure about its ripples in the passage of time, but ever so curious as to what the emotion does. He's afraid of these new emotions, after having spent so long without them, but as painful as they can make life, he finds that they could help him see the world in a better light, too. And yet... being so new to them, he dampens the wilder emotions. This, at least, keeps him from throwing a temper tantrum and eradicating life from the planet with a massive supercell.

☁☁☁☁It's always calmest before the storm.

An eternity is a long time for a being to live. Time, it seems, is cruel even to those it cannot touch, taking memories and companionship until all it leaves behind is a sad husk of what was once a sparkling, shining being. Cinik knows that he didn't start out with the name he currently bears, but since he can't remember it, and no one else is around to remind him what it once was, he fashioned himself a new name in his exile, using scraps of lore belonging to those with such fleeting lives on the ground. He also sincerely doubts that he has always seen himself as male. In fact, he knows he's at least posed as a doe... when was that? Perhaps an era ago?

Regardless, it has been a long, long time.

Cinik began as a spirit - an experiment, really, of the gods that stood sentry over the universe. He could have been considered an angel, perhaps, if viewed through the scope of religion, though he has very little purpose given to him. No, he's just a curious knot in the threads of time and space, toyed with and let go like a group of curious children and a butterfly - though Cinik is very well-versed in the Butterfly Effect and how his actions may affect the future.

In the beginning of the world, he took to the storms that dotted the planet - mindlessly wandering through the atmosphere, they shape the ground below in ways that mere drops of water and stray electrons alone cannot. He felt kinship to them; without purpose or duty, he, too, wandered aimlessly. And his actions, like the storm's, could cause anything from great devastation to great bounty for the inhabitants.

He watched as, after taking one flower out of a field, the seeds stopped spreading and the flower disappeared. He watched, too, as those that relied on the flowers for life - deer, insects, and so many other creatures - either left the area or died. The predators followed, naturally, and within a couple of centuries, that field became barren and void of life.

He moved a rock, and a river changed course, creating a desert out of verdant green hills. A simple change of wind, and a vast, dead field became lively, and filled with creatures, the likes of which he hadn't seen in... in. He couldn't remember.

He was used to forgetting dates - or was it that he hadn't really known what they were in the first place? What concern would an immortal spirit have for the trivial meaning of day and night, let alone the specifics? Folly. He could blink one and lose a second; blink again and lose a decade.

But what he meant by that, he couldn't tell.

Cinik, for much of his existence, took to this wayward, unattached life. He had nothing to hold onto, nothing to hold him back, no directions, goals or needs. He just was. And how boring it had been! Nothing to keep his interest, nothing to distract him from the dreary nothing that he had surrounded himself in, but for his clouds and storms!

And for the record, clouds are awful conversationalists. Cinik has never been much for words, but even he found their lack of sentience... disconcerting.

He took to the beings that lived their short lives on the ground, being buffeted around by the forces Cinik could summon and banish with a mere thought. They were relatively weak... but they found something to focus on, even when they weren't given goals - they made their own. They made life the way they wanted it to be, and it intrigued the ancient spirit - which, he found, they revered as a powerful being as well.

He was no god. Not really. But to them, he was as good as, and, in a show of good faith, he brought them rain when the droughts became bad, and sent it away when it flooded. He couldn't control so much of what they needed, but with his affinity with storms and rain.... it allowed him to help the ground-dwellers prosper.

If they could find purpose in their transient little lives, he decided, so would he.

So would he.

oh, i feel like i should say this is being judged on creativity. if you go with a real/pre-existing god [haha look at that, one of the gods i worship is already reserved] please be sure to be creative about the character you make! people who make up names/characters of their own already have the advantage over you; so make sure that's really what you want to do! you'll have to work a bit harder than other folks. :P
