Other: Isabel is a very sweet little mare whom really loves to play
and to have fun with others. She especially loves Cinco de Mayo because
she gets to be in the parade with those lovely roses in her mane
and she gets to wear the fancy tack for her rider. She has a soft spot
for foals, as well, and seems to be the nurturing type, and she may be
wishing for one or two of her own someday. Her father and mother would be
proud of their little mare, whom came so far from the filly she was not so long ago,
seeing her in parades and racing round the fields. Isabel has a passion for Spanish Dancing,
as she has seen the other horses out in the streets or in the stables who do it. She has been
practicing this art herself, and seems to have become good enough at it. Right now, her discipline
is still being figured out, but she wonders if Spanish horse Dancing could be it.

Personality: Aintza is a fiery mare, who does not back down to other horses or many humans. She needs a hand that is firm and determined but not harsh- being harsh or rough with her will only earn you her locked knees and angry glare. She is a passionate mare, perfectly suited for strutting her stuff as a Western Dressage and Showmanship show horse. She adores getting noticed and being in the spotlight, and tends to try and steal the show, no matter what. But don't let the hot Spanish blood running through her veins fool you (courtesy of her Andalusian ancestors); she is not all sass and brass, so to speak. The Quarter Horse and Criollo sides of her have given her a sharp wit that comes with cattle ranching, and she is quick-witted and can out maneuver some humans and most other horses. She secretly seems to enjoy quiet sunsets on the ranch after a weekend at shows, and can be seen eyeing the mares and foals in their paddocks- maybe she does want a little one of her own?

I cannot help myself...I really want a Paso Fino! or an Azteca....I need to decide... she's so gorgeous. T^T

(This is a more historical story. Think Old West.)

Chuparosa sniffed at the fresh morning air, ears perked while she listened to the sounds of the surrounding deserts. Bugs began to hiss and a pack of coyotes howled and yipped somewhere in the distance, most likely returning to their den. Somewhere nearby an owl hooed softly. Her ears swiveled towards the noise and a light breeze ruffled her mane. A warm breeze. The sun wasn't even up over the distant mountains yet and it was already heating up. It was going to be a hot one again, but that was only to be expected.

Chuparosa lowered her head to grab some hay from the pile near her hooves when a slight rustling caught her attention. For a split second she thought it might be an early morning predator on the hunt. The corral she was in wasn't completely shut. The people around here mainly just trusted the horses not to wander off.

Her head whipped around, and she noticed a figure shrouded in shadow. Another horse. Another breed blew his scent over to her and she relaxed, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You know, you're not much good at being sneaky." She nickered, and a slight chuckle answered her. "Evidently." the stallion replied, walking in through the gate to give her a greeting nuzzle. "How are you? Excited for the celebrations?" Blitz asked, his lighter coat like a kerosene lantern in the dim light. Chuparosa nodded. "Indeed. It seems like noon will never arrive." She answered, looking over to her tack resting on the nearby fence. Her hoof scraped the dirt in anticipation. She turned back over to the Mustang. "Why are you here? I thought you and the gang left last night?" Chuparosa questioned, head tilting slightly. Blitz gave a soft smile. "You really thought I was going to leave without saying goodbye?" Blitz inquired. Chuparosa shook her head. "No, not at all...Well, maybe Red would. But not you. I should have known." She responded. Blitz laughed. "Everyone else at camp is asleep so I thought I'd come over and have a final chat and wish you the best of luck. Part of me wishes you'd come with us, but I know your place is among the law abiding citizens." He chuckled. Chuparosa rolled her eyes. "Oh yes cause you desperados are quite the despicable bunch." She snorted. "But yes, this girl's just about had her fill of thrills for a while."

"But has she?" A voice in the back of her head sang. She pushed the thought away, but it still nagged at her.

"Running with you all in the gang was fun while it lasted, but I think it's time I settled down for a while." She added. She thought she saw a flicker of sadness in his eyes, but she waved it off. Maybe it was just the darkness. Blitz nodded. "I understand. This life isn't for everyone." Blitz stated. He tried to sound neutral but his voice betrayed him. "I'd stop, but I don't think I know any other way of living. Outlaws till the end, eh?"

Blitz wasn't a very old horse, but years of running under the sun had aged him. He had a weathered look about him, and there was almost always a sorrowful look to his gaze. He was sad, but wise, and had seen enough action for a lifetime. Perhaps that was what Chuparosa found so endearing about him. He was an enigma, and Chuparosa had made it her mission to try to figure him out. So far she had failed miserably.

Chuparosa nodded. "It would be tough for you to adjust to such a domestic life on the slow path. You're a man of action, I know."

The two stayed quiet for a while, but eventually another question arose in Chuparosa's mind, and it tumbled out of her mouth before she could even think. "Do you think I'll ever see you again?" Blitz looked up slowly, trying to put on a smile. "I don't know. Perhaps, but in this vast land those chances are slim."

"Some other life then?"

"Some other life."

Before the two could say anything else a voice called out, searching for Blitz. The stallion sighed. "Well, I guess we must go our separate ways now then?" Chuparosa's heart sank, but she still stuck with her decision to leave. "I guess it is..." She trailed off. Turning her head, she noticed the bundle of roses sitting on her saddle. "Wait a moment." She insisted, trotting over to them, and grabbing one of the red flowers in her teeth. She brought it back over to him, careful not to damage it. She couldn't say anything with it in her teeth, but Blitz understood, and gave a sad smile. "Thank you." He muttered, taking the flower in his teeth. The two nuzzled once more and held each other's gaze for a while, before Blitz turned and walked out of the corral, disappearing into the darkness.

Chuparosa watched him go, a piece of her heart leaving with him.

Blitz arrived back at the camp as the rest of the horses were being saddled up, Blitz's owner looking rather flustered. He saw the stallion and was about to say something turn when he noticed the rose in the stud's teeth. The man sighed, understanding the look in his mount's eyes. "It's okay boy." He murmured, taking the rose and setting in Blitz's mane. The rest of the horses took notice, but not one even snickered at their leaders new floral decoration.

"Mount up men!" The gang leader commanded from Blitz's back. The gang rode off down the trail as the sunlight finally appeared over the towering cliffs. Blitz snuck a glance behind him at the small town disappearing behind him in the cloud of dust they were kicking up.

Without the bay mare running alongside him, it felt like a big piece of his strange life was missing.
