metal intertwined around their left forearm. The metal contains two gems embedded into it and
the Hyenas use it as a controller for their mana. Each hyena contains the magic of one of
the four basic elements, fire, water, air and earth. Their left paws contain the
ability to use these given powers, which can be very destructive. However, the Hyenas will
only use their powers when threatened. Any abuse of power is punished by blackening the gems in
their metal gear, rendering their powers useless with no chance of re-obtaining them.

Short Story xD-
The man strained his eyes, sewing yet another piece on. His hand slipped, stabbing his finger, and he screamed in exasperation. He ran to his desk to relax himself. He leaned on his elbows against his desk and sighed. He turned his chair around. "Another try..." He said, trying to calm himself. He stood up and walked toward the strange sock puppet sculptchure that he had been working on for the past 5 months. The legs and body shape were done, but he still needed the head and tail. He had the tail don't already, but needed to sew it on. He was very careful in this, and finally, the tail was on. He gasped and started laughing histarically. Now all he needed was the head. He worked on the head of the hyena for about 2 more months and finally sewed it on, but soon grunted as he realized he hadn't even made the details for the face. In exasperation, he put the hyena away in a box and shoved it under his bed, not realizing that he would never see it again.
*NEW SCENE*
The boy wept in his room, crawled in a corner. He had just witnessed the death of his father. His mother shot had shot him twice in the chest, then abandoned her son in the house, thinking that it was useless to kill him anyway. She had few bullets and if she locked the door, he wouldn't be able to leave, and would eventually starve or something. So she shrugged it off, hid her gun, disposed of the father, and left. The boy, about 9 years old, was terrified. He locked his mother's room, and never went near it again, not even to pass into his own room. He slept downstairs on the couch. Even though his mom was gone, the home still had an empty ghost feel to it. He walked to his fathers room for the first time since he had died. He walked into his room, looking around. The phone was gone, his mother had taken all of them so he couldn't call 911 and escape from the house that was now his death trap. He searched every where, and soon came to below his fathers bed, where he found a box. Upon opening it,, he found the sock hyena. He quickly gathered all his fathers socks and cut them up. He added the ears, eyes, nose and details. He kept the hyena forever after, as a reminder as the kind father who loved him, NOT the 'kind' mother who had betrayed him.
