History
Lillian was born in a war torn territory, where her pride was constantly under threat. One day the pride was attacked, and terrified for her cub, Lillian's mother ran, her cub hanging from her jaws like a clock's pendulum. There was a thrumming sound of running paws in pursuit behind them, and Lillian's mother ran faster and faster. She lost her assailant for a while and ran to a pond, and put Lillian down in the reeds.
"Be brave, my dear." her mother whispered to her. "I will come back for you when it's safe."
With that, her mother vanished into the trees. Lillian cowered in the tall reeds, seeking some kind of haven. Night came and went, and her mother still hadn't returned. Lillian took in a deep breath, and started to move out of the reeds, only to jump back as she heard footsteps drawing closer. A tall Faeleon with deep red fur and a white mane stepped out of the trees. He had golden eyes, and stripes of the same colour all over his lean, muscular body. Lillian whimpered quietly, but apparently it wasn't quiet enough, as the huge male turned and stared into the reeds, and straight into her eyes. He took a step towards her, murmuring soft, soothing words. Lillian wasn't sure whether she should run or not, but she didn't have the time to decide. The male gently nudged her out of the reeds.
"Are you alright, little one? What were you doing there on your own? Where's your mother?"
Lillian looked at him with wide eyes as he swung his great head around, searching the trees. Lillian nipped his paw to get his attention, and then walked slowly towards the trees, keeping her eyes on his. He understood and followed her. Lillian wasn't sure but she though she might remember the way home, but she didn't want to go alone. It seemed to take years before she recognized the bushes she played in so often, and she bolted out into a clearing. No one was there to greet her. Lillian looked around. Her nose was filled with the smell of carrion, and there were shapes in the shadows that she would rather avoid. The male came into the clearing behind her and stilled. His face didn't give away any fear or horror like Lillian's, but instead sympathy as he looked down at her.
"I don't think they're here," he said, walking towards her. Lillian was young, but she wasn't stupid, and she knew when someone was lying.
"They're dead," she got out in a small squeak.
For a long time, the male just looked at her. Then he nodded. "What's your name?"
"I'm Lillian."
"Well Lil, I think you should come with me. I'll keep you safe."
Lil believed him. She stumbled over to him on paws that were still too big for her body, and they walked into the trees, side by side.
During her time with Dhoren -it turned out that that was his name- Lil learnt everything there was to learn about survival. From fighting to knowing which berries were dangerous and which were safe. She loved Dhoren like a father, but as soon as she was old enough, she left. She came back often to see him, but it was time for her to have her own adventure.
