Why did I mark a special horse?: To show more about you and to do something a little different. That way not only do you show that you like and love showing halter but you also show the immense and awesome level of skill you have with lines and color.
Should chains be over or under the nose/chin?: it should be under for showing
What horses/ classes are lip chains not allowed?:
SHW355.1 For purposes of this rule, the term “allowed lip chain” shall only mean a lip chain that:
SHW355.1.1 has an unsecured keeper with at least two links of the chain outside of halter before attachment of keeper or leather part of lead shank.
SHW355.1.2 is applied only over gum and not through mouth; and
SHW355.1.3 with respect to the portion applied over the gum, is made up of chain links having a gauge of at least 4.0mm
SHW355.2 Stallions 1 year of age and older may be shown with an allowed lip chain in open and amateur divisions; mares and geldings 1 year of age and older may be shown in amateur and youth divisions with an allowed lip chain. All other types of chains that do not meet the definition of an allowed lip chain are prohibited.
SHW355.3 The following horses may not be shown with an allowed lip chain:
SHW355.3.1 weanlings;
SHW355.3.2 any horse shown in a Performance Halter class;
SHW355.3.3 any horse shown in a Versatility Ranch Horse conformation class.
SHW355.3.4 mares, geldings in open division
SHW355.4 Applying excessive pressure on or excessive jerking of an allowed lip chain is prohibited.
What is the basic "pattern" of a halter class?:
There is no pattern in halter classes; the judge or ring steward will generally direct you to walk towards them and trot away from them.

Why did I mark a special horse?: Because it's close to your birthday and you wanted to give us a wonderful horse to celebrate the occasion!
Should chains be over or under the nose/chin?: Under
What horses/ classes are lip chains not allowed?: The use of lip chains is allowed in youth and amateur halter classes. Exhibitors of stallions 1 year of age and older in the open division will also be allowed to continue to use lip chains. However, no lip chains of any sort, in any division (open, amateur or youth) will be allowed in classes for wean-lings and/or performance halter. Also, lip chains are not allowed in any division in the versatility ranch horse conformation class.
What is the basic "pattern" of a halter class?: there is a cone about 1/3 of the way down the arena and we start at the gate, trot there, which is there the judge is standing and then just continue over to line up against the rail where you will square your horse up and then once everyone is in, the judge will inspect all of them. There cane be many other 'patterns' but this is probably the most basic.

Why did I mark a special horse?:
Well, first of all, like you said, you have a inner passion for color halter. I think this is the first time that you have done a full edit (
), and so you decided to try something new!
(Hey!(light bulb) You should make a Color Halter horse competition here at CWHR!)
Should chains be over or under the nose/chin?:
Under
What horses/ classes are lip chains not allowed?:
From what I have read, I am pretty sure it is... their are different types of lip chains maybe? So maybe their is like, a difference between a stallion and yearlings lip chains? Whatever...
All info has been taken by the aqha website.
Not allowed in horses shown in performance classes, in open division none on geldings or mares, and last but not least, weanlings!
What is the basic "pattern" of a halter class?:
I am pretty sure it depends on what level you are in. You of course have to walk in, but I don't think their is an exact pattern. Their MIGHT be cones up for less experienced halter classes.

Why did I mark a special horse?: Well I am not sure your reasons, however it seems that you wanted to express how much you love horses and that you love showing Halter. (After all, it is a fabulous competition.)
Should chains be over or under the nose/chin?: Under for showing purposes.
What horses/ classes are lip chains not allowed?:
Lip chains are not allowed for weanlings and performance halter, all divisions. Versatility ranch horse conformation class doesn't allow lip chains in all divisions.
What is the basic "pattern" of a halter class?:
A judge gives you a 'pattern' to do before the competition. It could be anything. Probably the most common though, is where you walk from the gate to the first cone. Then trot (in a strait line and showy fashion)to the judge who is at the second cone, then set or square up the horse. After that you go to your spot amongst the others and set your horse.
