CWHR: Pretty Prancers Adopt One

Postby sapphirespirit » Wed Feb 05, 2014 11:12 am

Alrighty folks, The time has come! I will forewarn you. There will be a lot of work required for this. I worked very hard on it, and I am expecting to see a good amount of effort for this pretty stud. That being said- Pretty your forms if you wish, do as you please. but what I ask for in the form MUST be in the form. no exceptions. Please no super bright colors, and nothing Irrelevant. No Gifs either please, they slow my laptop down. As of now there is no end date- but there will be one posted eventually.
Alright,

Welcome folks, to the first Pretty Prancers adopt! There will be more of these so if you don't win this one, don't fret!
Teresa gave me permission to do these, with some boundaries of course. I hope everyone loves him as much as I do. I was reallllllyyyyy tempted to keep him. But, i have done this for you guys, so please put some effort in! This boy features some Minor face edits ( a slight roman nose), Severe mane/tail edits( a running braid and the capriole tail style), and Severe Leg Edits (the Capriole movement).
This is a Lipizzaner Stallion performing the move 'Capriole'. He features all the brands required of the performing breed. (There is another brand on his other side which is his register Number) This is one of the Highest trained stallions! Meaning he isn't 3 years old! He's got some age to him! Remember that! To win him fill out the form below- Best form wins! Keep in mind too, since he is one of the highest trained stallions, he can perform ALL of the movements required of the performing breed! keep that in mind for your art (you can not have him doing the capriole- but it can be of any other move- or anything else fo him.
The Name MUST be two parts. The first part is one of six names form the original Bloodlines( His BRANDS indicate which bloodlines He Comes from!) , the second is the dam's name (So really you can make that one up , but keep it along the realistic lines)
the form is short- But it is Effort and correct answers i am judging on. Good luck!

What does the Red and Gold tack signify? Red in gold is for all these horses except for young stallions. The red signifies "All Steps and Movements of the High School", "Pas de Deux", "On the Long Rein", "The Grand Solo" and "The School quadrille."
Which Bloodlines does he Come from? He came from Favory 's lines (Favory 1799). His dam is Neapolitano Serena
What does the 'L' on his cheek mean? When a Lipizzaner turns one year old, the letter L is branded on the left cheek. It designates it as a Lipica thoroughbred born on the stud farm.
Art: All three of these are for this horse. The first is a close up colored digital. The second is traditional, paiffe. the last is of Favory Serena as a foal.

Story or poem :
In the Moment By Baby bunnies! (impersonating the horse)

The crowd is in awe
as I snort and paw
to leap in the air surrounding
You could even hear my heart pounding
I lept in the air
and felt the people stare
at my marvelous figure flying
How many years had I been trying?
Finally I was a star in the sky
for there is no limit to those who try
Like a shooting star I fall back to the ground
and in the room there is not a sound
Words were swept away with astonishment
as I made my first accomplishment
I am a Lipizzaner
And I am proud to hold that banner

Later on in the stable so dark
no dogs would bark
The darkness would creep
As I fell asleep

What is 'Airs Above the Ground?' Airs Above the Ground is a series of different classical Dressage like movements in the air. It is a higher level, aka Haute ecole, of the classical Dressage in the air. Some moves that they are famous for are the levade, capriole, courbette, croupade, ballotade, and the mezair. Basically it is a dance in the air with a horse, often with a human by it's side. Quite eye catching and beautiful to watch.

What does the Crown and P mean? (added to original form) The crown and P symbolizes Royal Crown of Piber. This means that this Stallion was born at the Piber stud which is the official breeding farm of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria.

Omigod omigod...MAJOR WIP My! Finally DONE!

What does the Red and Gold tack signify? Red can stand for: "All Steps and Movements of the High School" ;; "Pas de Deux" ;; "On the Long Rein" ;; "The Grand Solo" ;; "The School Quadrille." The gold "bands" on his blanket signifies the show the status of each rider; the director of a school has three bands with gold fringe, the "chief riders" have three bands and no fringe, riders have two band [like this stallion], and assistant riders have a single band! Gold-plated double bridles are only used in shows and performances.

Which Bloodlines does he come from? His brand represents the Favory lines, and his dam is Diania Magia.

What does the 'L' on his cheek mean? When a Lipizzaner turns one, such a letter is branded on them. It tends to denote a purebred Lipizzaner!

Art: I just did a simplistic face shot. I quite enjoyed making it, and I really like it. Yay!

Story or Poem: [Story of the his training]
[Favory Magia's POV]
Like most Lipizzaner stallions, I "enrolled" in Spanish Riding School at the age of four. I would train for six years and be taught fully - no going half-way and then backing out for me! The School would have three stages, and I would start at the stage of Remontenschule. It means "forward riding." I would then move onto Campagneschule, or campaign school, and then high school, aka Hohe Schule.

Remontenschule
In the days of my youth I was even more fiery and stubborn. I was first taught to be saddled and bridled, as we all are when we begin. I was steady and calm with the saddle, taking the extra weight with patient ease. I like to think now that it was all a mask of what was to come!
The bridle brought all the good-boy attitude to a crashing, utter halt. I did not want that shiny, cool piece of metal to even brush my lips. I pulled, I tugged, I bit, I even kicked a bit to keep from it getting close. I'm not sure if I was afraid, or just extremely obstinate. I cannot fathom why I would be either of those, as nowadays the bit is a minor part to my career, a habit, a daily exercise I pay little attention to.
A more experienced, tougher rider even had to be brought in to handle me. He gave me stern, angry looks that were very intimidating. His voice was always loud, even if he wasn't mad or frustrated. It always boomed around the stables. "Learn your manners, horse!" He growled to me one day, holding the bridle and its equipped bit closer than it had ever been. Gently sticking his finger in the side of my mouth, I parted my gritted teeth and the bit was shoved into my mouth. I chewed on it, gnawed on it with uncertainty. I played with it in my mouth until he took it out, and then put it in again. Soon I did it without trouble, and the loud man went away for a bit.

After a long period of time doing the same activities over and over, longeing began. They use longeing to teach horses aids, obedience, and prepare his muscles for a rider. Day after day, is was longed. I walked round and round, was brought into a trot, and gradually into a canter from there. This went on for nearly three months, and I became bored and at ease with the activity. I swear, I nearly fell asleep while cantering one time from my immense boredom!

I suppose the longeing improved my stamina greatly. I could go for longer periods of time, and felt my energy was endless. I wouldn't even need to use it until at least the next stage! After longeing was finally over, all I did until the second stage was have a rider teach me to recognize riding aids and ride me in endless straight lines. Snoozefest!
The only enjoyable part of riding was the first week. That was when no one had been on me before, and although many people had trained and worked with me, I was still uncertain and cautious. I often eyed my rider when he reached his foot to the stirrup, a devilish look in my eyes. It was funny to see him frown as he lost confidence. When the saddle had been put onto me and then someone first hoisted themselves on, I grumbled at even more extra weight. Before they could get their feet into the stirrups, I gave a series of crowhops and watched from the corner of my eye as the rider bounced up and down, struggling to keep hold of the reins. When I stopped, he cracked his crop and turned the tables, looking at me pointedly. I sighed and walked forward, keeping the occasional crowhop to a minimum as much as I could, for the sake of avoiding the crop.
At least I was easier than most of the stallions! I was broken easily and gave the rider a break.

Campagneschule
Then came one of the longest portions of the school. Surprisingly, this was also one of my smoothest time. It was long and boring at times, but I learned quickly and enjoyed the school more and more. I was given a tall, serious man who was very experienced - all young stallions are given riders like him. They are there to not allow us to learn bad habits. Often I was just ridden in circles. Walk. Trot. Gallop. Walk. Trot. Gallop. I learned collection and impulsion. Slowly my muscles developed and I became more flexible and well-trained. I learned how to bend correctly for various activities, and when to slow my gait or speed it up. I held my self in a more confident, profound way. My eyes went from wild and reckless to a calmer, intelligent gaze.

The first maneuver I performed was so long ago, I can hardly recall it. I just remembering feeling like I was flying. I was everything, and nothing all at once. It all seems so insignificant now, when really it was like the greatest achievement once long ago. Now it's only a faded memory.

By the end of this period, I had learned even more. I was even introduced to the double bridle! But my favorite story from this time actually comes from when all I seemed to be doing was going in circles.

Yes, I was actually just "going in circles." My rider and I were having an easy day, going through a simple routine. It just so happened that a new, routy stallion got out and started racing around the campus. My rider hardly reacted, giving me signals to simply carry on. I was curious though, wondering if I was that way when I first started. I began to steal glances back, wanting to see the horse. My rider sighed and dismounted me, taking my reins and walking me towards the gate. "See? They caught him." Liar. I could here is jagged breaths, his pulsing heart, his thunderous hooves. He was flying, he was soaring. I snorted and decided to give up, not wishing to make a big deal. Such a stallion intrigued me. Disobedient? Obstreperous? Was he a shadow of me?

Hohe Schule
Now came perfection. I learned the most difficult moves and became a high level of horse. Now I could become greatness. I would be taught until their was no more room to improve. I guess there's not all to tell for this. I was pressed every day, taught to be the best. All I have are the stories that came from within this stage.

I had been working on my Pirouette when I hit a rough spot. I had a lot of trouble, and couldn't seem to get it just right. I was always a step off, or too clumsy, even too concentrated and stiff. I had managed it at a walk, but wished to do it at a canter. The day I perfected it was the day I felt complete. Yes, I am perfectionist. If it's not perfect, it's gonna be perfect. I had been feeling disconnected from my rider lately, and down because of it. What was wrong?

On the day I perfected the move, I felt energized. When my rider came to tack me up, I was quiet and listened to his soft hands, brushing me down meticulously and moving with ease across my slick, clean body. I felt the connection return! After a nice warm up, we practiced the dreaded Pirouette. I really didn't understand why I'd had so much trouble. This was the day, I decided. Upon the first try, I knew I had done it before the move ended. It was perfected. I felt wonderful.

My "graduation" was glorious. What a story! Within this story, their are many other stories, many other details. I have years of stories I could tell you! I could write a book! Some I cannot recall, others are so vivid they are like they occurred yesterday. Tomorrow, maybe I'll have another story. Maybe, you'll have one too.

What is 'Airs Above the Ground?' These are "high school" dressage techniques/movements made famous by Lipizzaners. They can be quite difficult. These include the levade, the courbette, the capriole, the croupade, the ballotade, and the mezair.
